For towing you had the right idea but instead of removing the shock you get a ratchet strap and ratchet it down which lifts the opposite front corner.
I’m gonna go hug my Turbo R now
😂
…. before it breaks down
Right 🤣!!!
Bummer....mid-day in the dunes with no shadows....tough to see the drop outs.
Build a ski mounted to an A-frame that has a bunch of possible mount configs. When a corner of a rig gets blown, remove everything that can be removed, lift that corner, stick the ski-jig in place, secure it higher up on the frame, and off you go. The ski rig should be in somebody's rig at all times, just like a spare. You likely only need one per party.
Hopefully only one per party haha
Well, it's the dunes.
Things break down when You have fun!
It's usually the last ride b4 packing up and heading home.
Ya at least we had some fun first. we left early for that reason on a ride before no one broke down let’s call it a win and leave
Man yall live on another level😅. Id be crying if that was my rzr.
Riding in the dunes is like playing Russian roulette with your rig. The wrong line could end your rig in a flash
You gotta keep things interesting in life haha
@@desertsxs but most don't have the monetary resources you enjoy. In order to wreck kr total a ride on every video. I agree with keeping it interesting because variety is the spice of life.
There is some driver error involved here. Glad everyone is ok
@@rzrdude2782 some... is rather nice of you.
I would've not driven at high noon chasing funcos lmao, glad everyone is okay!
Yep. I live locally and can tell you with certainty and after 50 yrs ripping Glamis that there are no shadows at all once March hits because the sun is straight up. Glad everyone’s ok. God bless.
It always seems like these SxS’s are just wide open in sand. They look tired and sluggish. Still wish I had one tho🤣🤣🤣
The reason you ride in a line is so that the driver can see what happened in front of him. Maybe put the camera down or mount it so you only have to put turn it on.
When in doubt, power out!
You see yourself becoming a lawn dart, keep your foot in it.
Not guaranteeing that it will save you... but it likely could.
ya i agree with ya
Dang! Glad everyone was ok
Those recovery sleds have a purpose. Probably would have helped.
Ya for sure much needed
Carry a snowboard or two and some ratchet straps. Strap them under the lowest point to keep it from digging in. At least it should slide easier. I don’t know for sure I never have been on sand before.
Funny your working on replacing a blown belt. I had mine go on the scrambler 850, and it wrapped itself around the primary drive. Could not get it out, melted and stuck the unit needed a complete rebuild. Swapped it out with a performance one. Never seen a belt do that before though.
Ya wow that would suck
Follow the line and follow the driver AHEAD..
Just take your own line with a Safe Sled🤘
I have lots of videos / but will never have one of glamis
That was cool 😎
thanks
After a good lawn dart your life has forever changed! ImGlad everyone is ok.
Lol
For sale. Nothing wrong with it, I just want to go a different route.
Lol
They say it’s the ball joint that breaks and causes the failure. But neither ball joint failed, the arm just ripped the mounts out of the frame and then tore everything up. And that was not even a lawn dart as they rolled down into the witches eye and stuffed the nose. I’m really shocked at the amount of damage to the suspension & chassis.
I did that to my krx and drove back to the trailer 😂
Nice video
Dang , you needed the BruiseR out there!
Ya for sure
Thats whats so scary about sand. It all starts looking flat and the same the faster you go!
Ya for sure
I know, Isn't it great !
Woulda done it pretty much the same. That's an automatic $200 tow fee though. Sxs towing sxs=dead belt
Not if it's a kawi. 2500 miles of abuse per belt
We got this covered!
@@cptbuiltk7944 you've towed another sxs through the dunes for 10-20 miles and then went hardcore(well, as hardcore as 115hp can provide) for another 3-5 miles with no belt failure? I'd say good for you, but you're still at least 100hp short of where the real fun begins in the dunes.
Glad he's ok,,goes to show you though stay behind the car ahead of you
Ya we should of slowed down so he could see our lines it all happens so fast
I don't go anywhere without 2 ratchet straps and 4 soft ties to tie up or sinch down a corner
2 ratchet straps and a Safe Sled will do 🤘
I would have lit it on fire on fire out there and called it good!…. That was some good thinking on the tow out
Thanks
Is that a stock lower ball joint that survived the nose dive?. If it's aftermarket maybe we should all reconsider replacing it since the next weaker point causes much more damage?
It is a stock ball joint
Could you have used the rear skid plate (if no holes and the skid plate is not just one piece) or a door as a sled under the A-Arm? The Machine was totaled so sacrifice a door to get back and make it easier of the tow vehicle or ride out? Extra Ratchet Straps for sure. Glad Everyone was ok. Totaled an X3 Myself before.... Sorry to See that! Funco-N around and Find Out...😮
lol ya some good ideas
Well, that's not the way we did it and ours went real well and we were real deep in the dunes.
Tore of driver side front corner, removed wheel and shock, strapped up A-arms. put all parts in passenger side rear seat, Driver sat in passenger side front seat and drove car from that seat to offset the car. The car drove on its own power not being towed. All other passengers were moved to other cars for the ride back to camp. we had 2 cars scouting out front for the most smoothest lines back to camp.
Think of us next time.
If I did a bunch of riding out there, I would have 1 of those plastic skies that they sell to put under the front or rear wheel for towing or draging...??
Ya we should probably get one with the amount of times we go out there
That’s me!🤘
@@safesled that looks like a great product to have
@@desertsxs design specifically for this issue. And originated in Glamis.
@@safesled it’s a great invention for sure
Ouch!.......My wallet !
Less headache with a Safe Sled🤘
actually pretty genius. We've built booms and that's a deluxe ride. Sponsored by Miller Welder.
Got Tobe smartnot drunk
Only thing different is I would of removed the passenger, put her in the rear seat, or had a passenger ride on the outside nerf bar. Good odea would be for all of us to carry sone kind of ski on the trailer or a car hood for dragging it through the sand. otherwise good job!
Thanks
Totaled????
They're built cheap like that for a reason. But they cost as much as a car. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What ever happened to taking responsibility for your actions? Next time you get an insurance quote remember how cool this video is.
if thats totalled, ill buy it for $25 for scrap value. since apparently your wording means its worthless now.
Last video a Can-ham lost a corner of the car and everyone was like Can-Am are weak... Next video a Turbo R is totaled.
Yup, they all break.
Ya they all break when you run out of talent
Sheeeeesh at least those arms are beefy enough to rip the tabs straight off the fame. That sucks.
We can have it covered🤘
Buy it back from the insurance and start welding
thats normal off road stuff,
not totaled.
its part of off roading
That's not a witches eye. That's just a slough. The reason it happened it because no one should try to keep up with your sand cars in a sxs even if it is a pro R. Your sand cars and the guy leading that ride were going way too fast for the sxs. I have 40+ years of Glamis riding experience. Just because you can go that fast doesn't mean you should all the time.
Is that Turbo R considered totaled or can it be repaired?
It was quoted as totaled at one point but it’ll be a 18 k repair bill so they are working details out
@@desertsxs That front arm was ripped out. You would think that kind of damage to the frame would be considered totaled.
@@boomerps2 ya we assumed that frame damage part would be a total but insurance is going back and forth. they might not total it now I have seen less be a total 🤷
Insurance on these turbo pro Rs is insane now days costs as much as a vehicle per year
@@allmotorhash ya getting expensive for sure
Hate to be rude, but iff u lived the frist one , theirs always the second one asap, I’ve learned my lesson and good thing their okay
Channel Rename “Desert Sandcar”
It’s spelled Funco! 🤔
Why do they keep making UTV's with a drivetrain that constantly fails? I don't own one yet, but I would never purchase one with a CVT belt.
Unless you want a utv with a bad layout for suspension that’s the only option unless you like sitting at home
Ask Mike about Justin Bieber flags
Polaris is a brand for bros desperate to look cool 😂
That’s why I bought one too
I wouldn’t of bought a RZR! Can Am X3 ALL DAY LONG!!!!
Absolutely would have pretty much the same. Props!
Sausage festival of dad jeans
Come join the club haha
The wheels are way too close together and they are way to light weight for just about anything, suckers buy them !
trying to use a sxs as a sandcar is stupid. just stupid.
