GALÌ

Documentary about the exalted Cuban drummer Mililián Galis, master builder and player of batá drums. He has performed afro-cuban percussion around the world and is an acclaimed teacher at home in Santiago. A traditional builder of batá, known as enterizos (ax-hewn from a trunk), he has built over two hundred trios of these drums. Several of them are exclusively reserved for santería rituals.
