All well and good , constant improvement is the game, glean from it what you can,use what works , discard what you don't. But in this topsy turvy world having a lack of inventory or materials is deadly for any company.
What a stellar bunch of employees you have. I have trouble getting people to show up with 2 shoes on…bit of a circus act compared to the organization and order your employees are able to operate under. Hats off to you
Thanks! Everyone on the shop floor has a tablet, used for detailed work instructions, from our production database, also to photograph defects and improvements
Jack, to control the offcuts, not sure it is the correct word 😀, the rests of sheets after laser cutting or guillotine. I see that you number it so that the project room can consider it to be used... it is being very challenging to me to optimize cuts and scrap metal sheets and profiles... any advice?
@@JackBusseyUK what about the others small pieces. Sell as scrap is not lean ... 😣 but I cant figure out a way to use every piece of steel. Please comment.
Everything is cyclical: Being too busy with work to lean will not lead to any standardization or continued improvements which will eventually lead to failure but... Standardizing and continuously improving (throughout) each day will guarantee less waste involved with the each process involved with that "too busy to lean" work which only leads to more free time to CI and/or perform more work in the same amount of time = success!
Watching this in 2021 - amazing both workshop and workflow! Thank you for taking a time to do a tour!
"For us its a great Improvement" I love this phrase , it is all that counts!! 💪
Great honest video. I have jus joined a sheet metal fabrication company and I am going to take them on a very similar journey

My pleasure
Hello! Congratulations on your journey!! keep pushing! What did you use in your concrete floor to have this nice mirror finish?
Thanks! You can see another video I posted, we polished it, then final polish with a modified lawn mower
Thanks for sharing. I love how you did not plan the video and you also showed the parts that needed improvements. I am also on my way. Great job!
Excellent. Keep it up. What is the tablet in the tools zone for?

What process are you doing? We always try to cut a full sheet of parts just sometimes we can't so we save offcuts, that's what we call then here
@@JackBusseyUK what do you do with small offcuts? Sell as scrap?
@@Amaro.Antonio the ones in the rack are used when required

hi I suggest add subtitle on your video so that we can get more😍
Hello! It is something that we've started doing on newer video's and shorts. 😊👍
2021 update please!!!!!
Dear Jack. What i find difficult is to do improvements when there is a lot of work to do and clients are pressing... please comment.
There always time, should make no excuses. Improvements can take 5minutes, if you really want to you can do it

Make the improvements first thing in the day, then carry on as normal.
Hi. How will you pile the sheets?
I don't understand the question?
@@JackBusseyUK stock the steel sheets. Do you have a new struture?
@@Amaro.Antonio we use kanban to manage inventory, maybe make a video of how you work with your setup I can see, maybe I could suggest an improvement
