Top marks and hats off to the fabulous Dáithí Connaughton who did so much more than just edit the video - he gave it great pace and that ineluctable sense of raw terror! A damn fine flute player he is too...

Absolutley, Dáithí did an amazing job, with your v/o adding the magic touch Ronan
This is awesome, this set was known to be a temperamental beast of an instrument from what I've heard about it. Not to mention at Ennis's time the bellows and bag were shot, and leaking like a sieve. Ennis sure was something else. I always love learning about Ennis and his instrument, thank you for this. An absolute gem especially in these times.

Indeed. Uilleann pipes are beasts which you need to become acclimatised too. Bravo to these top pipers. I know from attempting to play pipes other than my own!
Ronan Browne To be honest, Ronan, I would’nt touch that Coyne-set with a barge-pole if they were offered to me.😂 I did learn one surprising fact, though. I had no idea the pipes were originally left-handed but converted to a right-handed set. I did think the chanter looked a bit weird with the keys in the wrong bloody place.😂
@@runeulriksen if you’re not using that barge pole would you mind if I took it? Mine is broken. No, the set is still one of the best ever, but one would need to examine it ahead of time and remember that the key block is getting in the way. Scrummy pipes... 😋

Great stuff all around..thank you for sharing and to Ronan for putting it together with his sense of humour included!
GRMA Pádraic. It's been a labour of love for the team, musicians and filmmakers. Ronan's v/o brings such a lovely warmth to the series.
Thanks a million Pádraic - next time I sabotage some innocent pipers you’ll be included in the embarrassment. 🤪
bring it on :-)
Jimmy did a really good job!
He sure did!! They all did in fairness. Some amount of history in those pipes
Brilliant stuff all of ye.

Well I guess Liam O'Flynn was a genius to be able to tame those

Liam accepted nothing but perfection from himself. An inspiration to many including myself
It’s obvious Ronan Browne lost that challenge!😂
Ah he was double jobbing on the night ;-)
YahoooOOOooo!!!
I challenge anyone to make a bigger fool of themselves than me 🤡

@@RonanBrowneMusic never a fool, always a delight
Peter Browne does best for the most part except he loses his drones!
Don't be too elite about it, lad.
The best Irish pipers in history weren't.
