I was blessed to see Brandy perform March 2019 at jazz in the gardens in Miami . She was having vocal issues , even fell , but what hurt me as a black man the most about her performance was hearing ppl boo her , shout out she is a has been and that they should have had monica instead of her . I've always admired, respected and had the biggest crush on Brandy but what made me respect her so much more that night was seeing how the world attacks you at your weakest moment but she still performed , as ppl were walking out , she still sang her hits like this one , full moon, the boy is mine , sitting on top of the world. She did it with grace , resilience and pushed thru it . She could have backed out, not showed up , made excuses . . . But what seemed like her worst moments that night in the eyes of others, became to me her defining and shining moment bc it shows what she and others true to their gifts have to endure . So Brandy stay you , stay true and thank you for showing me what determination is , what it means to face criticism but not let it deter you from completing the mission . I truly am grateful that I was blessed to see you that night . Wonderful performance, Be encouraged, Be immeasurably Blessed and Just Know Your true fans love you thru rain or shine, good or bad , tribulations or triumph.
