  • Includes gute Nacht, die Wetterfahne, gefrorne Tropfen, Erstarrung. This is rerecording the songs with the objective of doing better vocally and getting the stamina to do more of the songs in a group. Ideally the goal is to show that these songs have both a bel canto and a Wagnerian component (not necessarily mutually exclusive: Wagner loved Bellini) when done in a professional key. And of course the "bel canto" component comes from the Italian opera of the time, not necessarily Bellini and Donizetti who didn't really hit their stride until after Schubert's death, but Rossini and maybe Salieri. The Wagnerian component is obviously a precursor to Wagner, but Wagner clearly used a lot of Schubertian ideas, perhaps it may be said in a less skillful way.
