I enjoyed your recent road trip and the interesting places you visited. I was a bit surprised you didn't visit a few more places on the way home, the trip seemed to end suddenly. I've enjoyed watching lots of your trips showing different parts of America as I'm in the UK and look forward to getting to Gatlinburg one day.
Those covered Bridges are horrible. My rig won't fit through any of them! 🤣 I love driving through small towns with a Town square and a courthouse there.😊 I shall visit John Wayne's museum someday. 👍💪
Oh wow!! John Wayne's museum and birthplace!! Thank so much for sharing!! I know I will never get out there but thanks to you both I got to see some of it. I've loved this road trip adventure. God bless.
O.K..I officially feel dang old! Yea have to love those back roads! Now days most people think of only think of what's ahead...not what has been. I so miss the yesterday's of in my life. Hugs from Maumee!
The cafe you looked in on the square in Winterset was in the movie. Clint Eastwood sat on one of the bar stools. You should have made time to stop by the park in town. They have another covered bridge and a tower called "Clark Tower", that looks like a small castle. You can view the whole valley from the top of it. Pella is also a very nice place to stop in.(Jaasma's Bakery for Dutch Letters). You should come back sometime when you can spend more time. Maqoketa in Northeastern Iowa has great views of the Mississippi River. I live in Newton,Iowa great to see you come through Iowa. :)
Sure was cool looking at those bridges. John Wayne!!!! How great was that. He lived in Newport Beach in Ca on Babloa Island . We used to live close to it and enjoyed watching the boats. His house could be seen easily. Travel safe❤
Oh my goodness Dawn you are the best..I love when y’all add bloopers😊😉..The Bridges Of Madison County is one of my favorite movies, this was a fun surprise and John Wayne now Will don’t kick me out of the YITS family but I’ve never seen a John Wayne movie but I was always a fan cause of my dad…John Wayne and Roy Rogers were his idols, I remember a trip we took once when I was little we went to the Roy Rogers museum and his horse trigger was at the entrance I think it was stuffed…thank you Will and Dawn this was fun!!!😊💕
Love this vlog! My Dad would have loved the museum. They did a really good job with it! Love everything about John Wayne & Clint Eastwood! Thanks for this!
Some of best pals from college were from Winterset. And, a girl dated, as well. I spent a little time there back in the mid 70's. And yes, home of The Duke.
My dad’s favorite man. “He’s a mans’s man”, my dad used to say. I bet he watched all the Duke’s movies an endless amount of times. Then again, what veteran didn’t ❤
In CANADA we have the Worlds longest covered bridge in Hartland New Brunswick home of like 50 covered bridges or more they are pretty cool to drive threw.
I guessed where you were going before you showed it. And Bridges of Madison County is one of my favorite movies. Cracks me up that you mention Clint Eastwood but not Meryl Streep. She was a big part of the movie. You did bring her up later.
Im back working all day long on sundays sorry im not able to be for your live chats. Missing the yits family... Thanks for sharing. Safe travels on your way back to the smokey mountains. ❤❤❤
