I purchased a 2022 Outback Touring XT for my wife as she has been driving a lot of highway miles to Disney World from Georgia. I don't worry so much knowing Subaru has the best safety rating among other vehicles.
Limited 2.5 with the option package is kind of the sweet spot for the Outback. I was trying for a used Lexus RX450h, but those were still in the $50s. I've been very happy with the Outback...
It's not a mid-level trim, it's high end level and at 3 minutes 16 seconds you said a 2025. Mentioning all the goodies you can get with the car is not important we already know what the car comes with and what the options are, what we want to know is realistically how much it costs to own the Suby, so you could have saved all that promotion time and just stuck to the meat of the cost of ownership. Thank you very much for pointing out the real cost of ownership that people do not always consider.
Yes i did mess up on saying 2025 at the end, my mistake. I corrected it with editing. My apologies but thank you for mentioning that. And yes i know a lot of people do already know the features and feel free to skip the features section of the video if you do know. But for those that don’t i like to touch up on that as i do cover many different cars back to back. Thank you for the feedback and support!
Keep in mind as well, subaru dealers maintenance schedules for their cars do not follow the manufacturers manual so they will rob you if you let them. Follow the manual
Albeit, Subaru is the most experienced with CVTs, There’s just something about the concept that there’s no real “8speeds” I really want one but it needs a manual.
Have you tried driving the turbo version ? I have the outback xt and with the turbo i dont miss gear shifts at all. The naturally aspirated version is pretty bad though.
You have zero centS. plural happens. LOL Nice cost break down though. This is why buying a new car is a ripoff. Buy a 1-2 year old low mileage car and save at least 10K. I paid 26K.... 29K with tax and license for my 2017 Forester XT Touring with less than 30k miles in 2019. It now has 59K miles on the odometer. had some recall work done under warranty and a battery replacement. basically just oil changes and front and rear bakes for maintenance. 5 oil changes and front and rear brakes about 1.5k. Oh I had to replace all tires at one point from a flat another 800 so 2.3K in maintenance cost. MSRP was 36K sticker. Over the 5 years I probably paid abut 10K in gas. So yeah basically free diving for 5 years by buying a used car.
You and I are on the same page. 5 years ago I bought a 1 owner used 2014 O/B Premium for $18k with 37k miles. As of today, it has 62k miles and is still worth about $14K. My payment book was for 60 months. Paid up front $8k upfront and Paid it off the $10k in 21 months.

If you're about to pay 8% for 6 years, do yourself a favor and walk away. Almost 12k in interest on a depreciating asset is a bad financial decision.
The Wilderness is not a mid-level trim... its close to the top. the base starts at $29k, premium $31k and top end Touring trim is $42k.
You read my mind. Definitely not mid tier.

Honesty a good video painting a realistic picture for people who just don't know.
Thank you for the feedback!
Thank you.
hmmm 44k? my local dealership is selling new subaru crosstreks for 23k.... 3.5K off. seems like the logical choice!

Ventilated seats in a wilderness??
No. Startex isn't ventilated.
@@jparker1823 I know. She said they were heated and cooled
@@troyesch6203 the top trims have heated and ventilated leathers seats..
Just buy cars outright. Drive a beater and save for the car you want.
If Subarus didn’t have CVT transmissions I would get one..

My suggestion is the Honda civic SI
These videos show anyone under 100k dollars a year should be buying used, preferably about 8 years old...lol
2024 one, $550 a month👍
