Ok so I have a request. I dont know everything and as a mechanic am stumped on this on. An old Freelander 2004 1.8 petrol wont start after customer changed battery. Hearing the usual other people did same but never got answers. Symptoms after battery change the alarm goes off and engine wont crank. immobiliser light is not flashing crazy. BUT. and heres whats unusual. My customers vehicle I cannot using my Autel ms908 communicate with the ECM. Tried my other Autel and same. Nothing. The starter does not turn and the starter feed does not get 12v. Hearing about BMS battery monitoring system in land rovers. Do you have any ideas mate on the fix for this?
Hopefully I can get the RR down sometime after June for the oil change on diffs and transmission. .is there anything that these cars need if they are to be parked up for say 3 months. I need to leave the country shortly, my car will be parked at the house.. i intend to put it on trickle charge.is this a gokd idea
Hi Gerry 👍 I’d disconnect the battery, and use a decent small conditioner like a suitably sized CTEK. I’d consider jacking it and leaving on axle stands too to give the tyres a bit of a rest 👍
