27 Years in trucking. The FMCSA is so far removed from actual trucking that is literally crippling the industry and causing drivers to flee from the industry or lose everything they've worked so hard for. It's literally painful (mentally, physically, and financially) to be a trucker in this day and age.
I went to truck driving school and did some long distance box truck driving for a while. The industry is just too regulated. Incab cameras, hours of operation, DEF, electronic logs, etc. Drive your own trucks, but I do miss the sights (all the places I'll come back to).
Seems like the mega carriers want to make everyone slow down to level the playing field, and they can save fuel money. They know independent truckers won't like 60 mph!
That entire board of FMCSA cares 0 about O/O .. they don’t stand for truck drivers . We all made that clear …but yet nothing has been done to get some one in there that cares
The idea behind the speed limited which you clearly see in this video was suggested 68 mph but they participated in the event of those who donated large sums of cash to push for 60 mph therefore crippling the smaller trucking companies and spot market operators essentially using the government to get rid of their competitors by buying policies using the government to enforce it literally discrediting all claims of rule making based on safety.
@Rosstransportllc yep, rules made by people that they will largely not affect. Even at 65 and 70 mph, you can see the trucks getting absolutely swarmed on the interstate. Unable to make lane changes or going to make a change and have a car or truck fly right at you.
Big corporations, play for pay, it's never about safety... it because they have a csa score card for drivers if they get charged for drivers who brake the rules!
The ATA needs to be investigated, the FMCSA is too Cozy with the ATA. The DeRegulation of the Trucking Industry in 1980 has led to the collapse of this Industry especially concerning Monetary Compensation for Truck Drivers and those who are Involved in the Logistics concerning Cargo. The Monopolistic Practices of Mega Carriers (ATA) needs to be held in check with a new Interstate Commerce Commission only concerned with Freight Rates and Services. Controlling Routes isn’t Necessary.
These bureaucrats in the swamps of Washington DC don't have a clue on how the trucking industry is responsible for itself and always important as a constant measure on the law supply and demand. All of these Democrats (bureaucrats) want to advocate for people that cannot handle the job for bad irresponsible behavior!.
This alone should remove credibility in her and the fmcsa to recommend safety guidelines based on data already contrived. I hope the ATA and other lobbyist are steered well clear of the actual making things safer process.
This indicates what everyone always knew that they create rules in favor of who donates large quantities of cash even if it will eventually bankrupt trucking as large carriers cannot cover all freight.
None of them ever drove a truck or own a truck but can tell you everything about the business or deal with brokers and people on the road they are full of shit
I believe that they want to slow the big trucks down so that they have a reasonable argument why everything should ship by rail. Trains cannot keep up otherwise. It's getting rid of the otr driver and controlling carbon footprints at the same time.
Fmcsa has screwed me and many drivers with there's laws rules etc and when company's break those laws and fire or dump drivers for abiding by said laws, and when a driver reports to fmcsa NOT A DAM THING is done!!! Move on get another job do it all over again...I know because I've been waiting over 7 months....Listen to drivers we do know wth is going on...and if u set speed limiters your causing more danger than ever before !!! Way to go representative
Yeah at 60mph I will be quitting immediately. This isn't about it's about giving the ATA and it's associated Mega carriers complete control of the industry. It will kill O/O and small to medium sized carriers that can barely compete now. It will have disproportionate impact on minority O/O and owned fleets whose only chance at getting out the economic hole they were born in was trucking.
68 mph is ridiculous. After 40 yrs of driving I’m done if this happens. I enjoy driving but I’m not at all extending my 4 day work week into a 6 day work week and spending 3 nights a week in a hotel because of the stupidity of these ignorant people who think they know better. We the truck drivers of America just need to get together and shut the industry down.

They Think There is a Driver Shortage Now,They aint Seen Nothing Yet?

Unbelievable 😮
She's getting paid like the others in position to control rules
Corruption at its finest.
This is the reason I got out of trucking after doing 41 years of OTR as a independent, to much BS regulations.
Seems like the mega carriers want to make everyone slow down to level the playing field, and they can save fuel money. They know independent truckers won't like 60 mph!
Mega Carriers talk about leveling the playing field but yet they are allowed to be self insured????
That entire board of FMCSA cares 0 about O/O .. they don’t stand for truck drivers . We all made that clear …but yet nothing has been done to get some one in there that cares
she should not be working with FMCSA
oh but she "rode in a truck once" 🙄🙄🙄🙄 i bet she did while sitting n spinnin
This lady does not understand about trucking business
Wow, I knew there were serious issues in trucking rule-making, but not quite like this!
I do know one thing. If they limit the speeds anymore, I will quit trucking the following morning.
@@Rosstransportllcthanks for clarifying but I will also quit and shutdown my dot and mc if they pass this

We are going to have to stand up we honestly don’t have any freedom left
its not trucks that cause accidents it is four wheelers
Guys who sit in suits and drive desks coming up with rules pertaining to a subject they actually have little to no real experience about......fun lol.
Man, I just shut down my trucking company because of all the bs these days..
Don't make since anymore
Nothing new in ca
Ca is alredy 55 for last 100 years
Today its the trucks tommorow it will be your car 60 mph for all!

This stuff with the government is disgusting, just leave us alone
Where’s the full hearing?

I can honestly say.. it was a informative video. Vote for the one who's for the people not what's traditional.

I hope they limit it to 50 mph so it takes 8-9 days to get coast to coast, prices spike.

Those at the fmcsa are clueless they don't know anything about trucking
Yep. She never drove a truck before, therefore she shouldn't be making rules for the industry, period!
FMSCA is alright. It works just like the government.
FAA is the same way. Nobody knows what the hell they are doing.
She has no business doing this job. A old truck driver l like me should be in charge that's been out here 40 yrs
Vote republican to garuntee your employment in trucking.

It doesn't matter both parties are slaves to the money
Should be illegal and against the law to sleep in trucks cause you don't sleep well
why was my post not posted
Shut them stay home

It should be if you work for fmca you should be a truck driver for several years before deciding bull shit laws
