  • The next installation of our TY7-GR 7 speed sequential gearbox into the Toyota Yaris GR! This install we switched on the flatshifting and also for this customer the throttle blip on the downshift for full clutchless up and down shifting!
    All is made possible with our shiftbox system. If you are interested in installing our sequential gearbox and do not want to go down the route of the complete engine ECU overhaul, The Kotouc Gearboxes SHIFTBOX system is the perfect solution. Fully tunable on the upshift and downshift for lightening quick gear changes.
    This video demonstrates the SHIFTBOX in action and the accelleration and braking power of the car in combination with the sequential gearbox is amazing!

    Does it mean for downshifts you blip the throttle, or is it done by the gearbox ecu?

    how many miles before tranmission needs as rebuild?

    • @OKMX5
      @OKMX5 Рік тому +1

      That really depends on how you will use it. If it's full on rally competition use then we are probably talking one racing season. If you just drive it on the street for fun then it might last tens of thousands of kilometres.

      as per the reply below, standard driving is ok and you can go 30000kms no worries. Important is oil change every 5-8000kms and this will make sure the life of the parts stay in good condition. If you are racing, then once a year service suffice.

    Is it possible to add the gear position indicator to the normal GR Yaris, without the sequential gearbox?

    • @nealmendham9649
      @nealmendham9649  Рік тому +1

      The correct answer is yes, but it will need a recalculation of the RPM and wheel speed, so essentially we would need to add a CAN converter attachment to make it work. I think someone made something already that fits in the air vent.

    Hey, how hard would it be to fit a gearbox like this into a fiesta st mk8/m8.5? Since both cars use simular 3cyl. turbo engines. Was looking around for solutions and stumbled across this video.

    • @nealmendham9649
      @nealmendham9649  Рік тому

      To be honest Im not sure. With a flange and a few changes here and there it would probably fit. but essentially if we had the gearbox and transfer case at our workshop we could take some measurements and make one!

    Is it possible to make the gearbox less noisy ?
    Does it need the clutch ? ( because I see that you use the clutch at every gear )
    Is it possible to replace the shifter by a smaller one ? ( A small shifter hidden by the original knob on which you replace the 1 2 3 4 5 6 R by a +/- 😅 It could be cool for a daily drive ^^ )

      for the lever, all is possible. we are mainly focused on making the car with the best performance and if you put a short lever in the car, it takes more time for your hand to move from the steering wheel to the lever. That is the main reason why it is longer. Something short we can do, however we must make something customised and will take a few weeks to do.
      about the noise, i honestly i think it is quite ok. Ive written many times in comments about having helical gears in the gearbox not being the "solution" to a quiet gearbox. Many more things to consider and that will just reduce the overall performance and increase costs.
