During the partition in India when the British came and divided Punjab into two separate countries, there was a lot of bloodshed. Christians idea of scripture MUST be in the written form. The Qur'an is not. It was preserved by memory of the masses, and then written down. The steps to being a muslim is for the belief to translate to your words and then to your actions.
As you can see, the actions are last. Meaning that now you are not obliged to become the perfect practitioner overnight. It is a gradual process where you are expected to learn more first, which will increase your faith (iman) which will push you towards striving to practice more and be the best you can, you learn better habits and give up on bad ones. You do not have to give up who you are. Islam simply fixes you in all areas of life and you truly learn to enjoy life to its fullest.

Why don't you come up with things that attract passersby? Here are 3 things that cover the major senses:
1. Eyes/sight: How about a written sign next to you that says "FREE STUFF" in big letters, and "Life changing" in small letters above it?
2. Nose/smell: What about an incense/popular Muslim musk you can set up at your stand?
3. Ears/sound: Occasionally read out loud verses from the Qur'an that are relevant to the area/community/time you're in.

Christians idea of scripture MUST be in the written form. The Qur'an is not. It was preserved by memory of the masses, and then written down.
