In 2017, Dimash was the first contestant on stage for the TV show "I Am Singer 2017". He was an unknown 22 year old man from Kazakhstan (formally part of USSR), who went on the Chinese singing show and sang a French song. He was a "wildcard" contestant, but this made him an overnight success after over 600,000,000 people in China saw the broadcast, and it started his world wide career. The 500 member audience are all professionals in the music industry, and are the judges for the show. Dimash had 1 week to learn the English to sing this song. The people you see backstage are the other contestants. For this show, the singers had to be invited to participate. The rules of the show made it so that the winner had to be Chinese, but after 2017, they changed the rules. Dimash didn't need the win though, he just needed the opportunity.

That comp was for professional singers with already established careers, so there’s not quite the same ‘jealousy’. Dimash was so humble, so he won over the other competitors. He goes on to sing at various events of the other singers. Tia Ray became a friend, Terry Lin and the guys from Lion band. The competitors brought knee pads for Dimash as he was always falling on his knees and another competitor brought him some very expensive throat medicine when Dimash lost his voice. There was definitely camaraderie between them all. Dimash was invited to perform as a guest on the 2018 I am singer comp. He sang Hello the Lionel version not hello by Adele. It is quite something.

Adagio is an Italian word and is used in music to denote tempo, which means 'calm', 'slow'. Dimash version is overwhelming. This song is part of the Lara Fabian's repertoire, a world-famous singer and songwriter. She wrote the lyrics many years ago to this classical baroque melody that cannot be assigned to any particular artist with certainty. The composers Rick Allison, Dave Pickell and Lara Fabian arranged the piece into a pop song. Dimash notes on the piano are beautiful!!! At the age of 5 years old, he said a piano was out of tune and he could reproduce notes, so their parents, a soprano and a musical producer, with his teacher came to know he has absolute pitch. Dimash is a big fan of Lara Fabian. And he sang one of her hits, Adagio for his cover rendition on The Singer. He went on to sing with Lara Fabian a few years later. And she even composed the lyrics to one of his English songs. She affectionately nicknamed him the Space Boy. :) Dimash went on to do several more covers of Lara Fabian, "Madamoiselle Hyde", "Ascolta la Voce" also known as Know (Vocalise). After this show aired, someone said, "If you're ever having a bad day, just remember - somebody had to sing after Dimash." Yes, the people in the room with yellow walls are the other constants. Correct - this is the show that made human overnight star in China and kick started Dimash’s global career - The Singer 2017. He won this episode - his other first place episodes in The Singer were SOS and Opera 2. He was only 22 years old when he opened and won the very first episode of the I Am Singer Chinese show in 2017 with his performance of SOS - a showcase competition for well known, professional Chinese singers, with a voting audience of 500 people from the music industry. Dimash was the youngest and the first foreigner ever to be invited on the show (as a wildcard) and, as a total unknown in China, he wasn’t expected to last more than half the show. Dimash was already well known, winning competitions all around most of Eastern Europe, before he was invited onto this season of the Chinese 'Singer' Competition in 2017 where he performed several songs. This competition is for established artists only, and the audience are all industry professionals. {allegedly hard to impress!} He became an overnight superstar with the Chinese public the first night the first episode of the show went to air- gaining literally hundreds of millions of fans. He was shocked to be told, the next day, that he now could't go anywhere without a private security team, to protect him from being mobbed, and he didn't believe it at first. The Singer program goes out on the Internet and has enormous 'reach' and - yes, you're right; it became his launching pad to a much broader and worldwide audience. The producers do a great job in cutting in reactions of the audience, the judges, and his competitors, waiting out back (and looking shocked!). In fact, they continued to be co-competitors, but ceased to be 'Competition' from the first moment he opened his mouth.😆 😂You can see with their reactions as the series progressed they had become Fans also and were enthusiastically cheering him on ! Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music composition and different lyrics (Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). A really beautiful song. A song that Lara Fabian (a Belgian-Canadian singer) has already sung and also written the lyrics for. Dimash has always been a great admirer of Lara. But Dimash takes this song to another level. Every time I feel like I forget to breathe and then burst into tears. The emotions that Dimash sends out with this performance really hit me physically🤯. In this performance you can see that I’m not the only one. I love his outfit with his blue suit and white shoes in this performance. If you watch several videos of him, you will see that he often falls on his knees during many of his performances. So a Dear gave him knee pads as a gift. I don’t think he wore them on stage though. Although he has certainly gotten one or two bruises😂. What I love about the Chinese competitors is that they don’t behave like competitors. Everyone wishes everyone luck. Everyone watches the other’s performance. Clap, sing along. In my opinion, no one begrudges the success of another. They might not have taken Dimash seriously at first, but that quickly changed after SOS. Through ist honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today. Especially to Terry Lin. Just for fun, Terry adopted Dimash and Dimash named him Papa Lin. Do not be fooled. Terry is older than he looks. He was 50 years old then. They performed together on stage and sang Dimash’s song Unforgettable Day together. They visit each other when they can and send each other birthday greetings. One thing I will say (and I'm sure someone else has explained it) is that The Singer is a singing comp for professional singers, ones that are already known, so not quite an AGT, Idol or the Voice type shows, though clearly still a reality style show with eliminations each week. In this episode (if you buy into the drama of these shows) he was on the edge of being cut, he started magnificently but a couple of his performances hadn't quite 'landed' as well with the audience who do the voting. So I think with that as a backdrop, he really put everything into the performance and it worked, he won that night and ended up coming 2nd overall. I will cop flack for this but a lot of people claim he came second because the Chinese didn't want a foreign winner, but I suspect it was a sum total thing and though he had the best single performance, his weaker ones may have just swayed the deision as the winner (I think) was consistantly good. I would have made him the winner as obviously I am a fan but there are reasons that don't require conspiracy theories or accuasations of racial (country) bias. Loving your reactions and believe it or not I reckon you have a dozen or more good choices of Dimash+'s to react to. He is the gift that keeps on giving.

This was in 2017 at the I am Singer competition in China. This competition catapulted Dimash to fame in China after his first performance of SOS. The people you see back stage are his fellow competitors. They loved Dimash and he became good friends with a few of them. The father of Dimash does not wear glasses. Here`s a link with Dimash, his father and mother singing together. And if you listen carefully, you can hear that Dimash and his mother have quite similar voices, because she is a soprano singer, and probably sung alot when she was pregnant with Dimash. And in the audiens his MAMA (grandmother who raised the first born (grand)son untill he was 10. It`s a tradition that in Kazhakstan parents give away their first born son to their parents. And when Dimash was 10 years they moved back to the family. and they all live together, in the same house. It was his MAMA who took him to singing school when he was 5 years old. Singer was a Chinese competition and Dimash came in second. The reason is because no foreigners were allowed to win. They have since changed that rule. The first song Dimash sang in the competition was SOS and he was famous overnight. He has millions of fans around the world, deservedly so. I'm glad to see you on your Dimash journey. Thank you.

Definitely the best version of this song. Yes they were the other contestants. The girl who was moving her jaw was one of the music partners (announcer/companion to the band) and the other guys in that room are one band. Crazy hair guy is the guitarist for the Lion band. Then you got the other room of people and they are singers who already performed and their music partners. So anyone in a "green" room has yet to perform, and everyone together has already performed. Dimash was 4th to perform that day. Technically he achieved international fame (outside of Kazakhstan) in 2015, at the Slavic (Slavianski) Bazaar, which is in Belarus. Which led him to be invited to The Singer show in 2017 in China. He even sang SOS at the Slavic Bazaar in 2015. The glasses guy, Terry Lin, is biologically not his father, but during the show they do bond and Dimash does affectionately call him dad. The following week he gave himself body, soul and knee (in addition to wearing a suit with blue, which is the color of the Kazakhstan flag) and presented, playing piano, the music written for Lara Fabian (with a melody of the music of the classical composer , Tomaso Albinone), “ADAGIO”: This performance is considered a masterpiece by Dimash!
I'm new to your channel but I did really enjoy your reaction. So, no, NOT the first of him "getting himself out there".. just the show that made him instantly famous in China and then it propelled from there. The guy with the glasses is Terry Lin, a very famous singer in China who instantly became Dimash' very, very close friend and supporter, but he was also a competitor as were all of the other guys on the couch. Dimash sang 14 songs in this competition, and everyone really knew deep down that he won that competition, but a girl won, mostly because Dimash was from Kazakhstan, the only one non-Chinese, and she ended up singing, although she was very good, as well. I would actually stay for a little while and explore his other songs in this show so that when you venture into later years, you can actually see (incredibly!) his progression in actually having gotten even better! Dimash had a prior engagement so they had no time to rehearse and Terry thought Dimash wouldnt be able to come. But he came anyways. Thats how he is. He needed to win this episode after only getting 6th place the week before and he gave it everything he had. The guy with the glasses is Terry Lin, another contestant, they developed a father son relationship during the contest and Terry supported him in many ways during Dimash's 3 years in China, even turning up to Dimash's recording studio on Christmas Eve with a cake to surprise him.

The person they kept panning to with the glasses is another more seasoned contestant named Terry Lin. He also can hit pretty high notes and was a person Dimash looked up to before they were together on the show. Dimash became very close to Terry during this competition and actually started calling him Papa Lin . Dimashes Father actually surprises Dimash by coming to the show the second week when he sings Opera 2 . If you can find the right version of the show and watch until the very end you can see the moment when Dimash realizes his Dad is there. Very heartwarming !

They were close friends and Terry Lin was very supportive of Dimash. Dimash nicknamed him his Papa in the show 😆😁. Dimash was the youngest contestant and had never been far from home for that long period, the other contestants were really kind and many among them remained friends. Anyway, this song was originally sung by Lara Fabian. Dimash is a huge fan of hers and even got to sing with her in later years. SOS from this show was his very first performance and what started his popularity. Also, Dimash's dad doesn't show up until he does the performance of "Opera 2" on this show. He shows up as a surprise to Dimash. Dimash didn't realize his dad was there until after he finished the song.

In 2017, Dimash was the first contestant on stage for the TV show "I Am Singer 2017". He was an unknown 22 year old man from Kazakhstan (formally part of USSR), who went on the Chinese singing show and sang a French song. He was a "wildcard" contestant, but this made him an overnight success after over 600,000,000 people in China saw the broadcast, and it started his world wide career.
The 500 member audience are all professionals in the music industry, and are the judges for the show.
Dimash had 1 week to learn the English to sing this song.
The people you see backstage are the other contestants. For this show, the singers had to be invited to participate. The rules of the show made it so that the winner had to be Chinese, but after 2017, they changed the rules. Dimash didn't need the win though, he just needed the opportunity.

That comp was for professional singers with already established careers, so there’s not quite the same ‘jealousy’. Dimash was so humble, so he won over the other competitors. He goes on to sing at various events of the other singers. Tia Ray became a friend, Terry Lin and the guys from Lion band. The competitors brought knee pads for Dimash as he was always falling on his knees and another competitor brought him some very expensive throat medicine when Dimash lost his voice. There was definitely camaraderie between them all. Dimash was invited to perform as a guest on the 2018 I am singer comp. He sang Hello the Lionel version not hello by Adele. It is quite something.

Adagio is an Italian word and is used in music to denote tempo, which means 'calm', 'slow'. Dimash version is overwhelming. This song is part of the Lara Fabian's repertoire, a world-famous singer and songwriter. She wrote the lyrics many years ago to this classical baroque melody that cannot be assigned to any particular artist with certainty. Dimash notes on the piano are beautiful!!! Correct - this is the show that made human overnight star in China and kick started Dimash’s global career - The Singer 2017. He won this episode - his other first place episodes in The Singer were SOS and Opera 2.
He was only 22 years old when he opened and won the very first episode of the I Am Singer Chinese show in 2017 with his performance of SOS - a showcase competition for well known, professional Chinese singers, with a voting audience of 500 people from the music industry. Dimash was the youngest and the first foreigner ever to be invited on the show (as a wildcard) and, as a total unknown in China, he wasn’t expected to last more than half the show. Dimash was already well known, winning competitions all around most of Eastern Europe, before he was invited onto this season of the Chinese 'Singer' Competition in 2017 where he performed several songs. This competition is for established artists only, and the audience are all industry professionals. {allegedly hard to impress!} He became an overnight superstar with the Chinese public the first night the first episode of the show went to air- gaining literally hundreds of millions of fans. He was shocked to be told, the next day, that he now could't go anywhere without a private security team, to protect him from being mobbed, and he didn't believe it at first. The Singer program goes out on the Internet and has enormous 'reach' and - yes, you're right; it became his launching pad to a much broader and worldwide audience.
The producers do a great job in cutting in reactions of the audience, the judges, and his competitors, waiting out back (and looking shocked!). In fact, they continued to be co-competitors, but ceased to be 'Competition' from the first moment he opened his mouth.😆 😂You can see with their reactions as the series progressed they had become Fans also and were enthusiastically cheering him on ! No-one was more shocked than the other competitors when he didn't win.

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly".
This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace.
The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself.
The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music composition and different lyrics (Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance).
But the most famous version, by far, is Lara Fabian’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer of this new version.
She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.

A really beautiful song. A song that Lara Fabian (a Belgian-Canadian singer) has already sung and also written the lyrics for. Dimash has always been a great admirer of Lara. But Dimash takes this song to another level. Every time I feel like I forget to breathe and then burst into tears. The emotions that Dimash sends out with this performance really hit me physically🤯. In this performance you can see that I’m not the only one.
I love his outfit with his blue suit and white shoes in this performance. If you watch several videos of him, you will see that he often falls on his knees during many of his performances. So a Dear gave him knee pads as a gift. I don’t think he wore them on stage though. Although he has certainly gotten one or two bruises😂.
What I love about the Chinese competitors is that they don’t behave like competitors. Everyone wishes everyone luck. Everyone watches the other’s performance. Clap, sing along. In my opinion, no one begrudges the success of another. They might not have taken Dimash seriously at first, but that quickly changed after SOS. Through ist honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today. Especially to Terry Lin. Just for fun, Terry adopted Dimash and Dimash named him Papa Lin. Do not be fooled. Terry is older than he looks. He was 50 years old then. They performed together on stage and sang Dimash’s song Unforgettable Day together. They visit each other when they can and send each other birthday greetings. One thing I will say (and I'm sure someone else has explained it) is that The Singer is a singing comp for professional singers, ones that are already known, so not quite an AGT, Idol or the Voice type shows, though clearly still a reality style show with eliminations each week.
In this episode (if you buy into the drama of these shows) he was on the edge of being cut, he started magnificently but a couple of his performances hadn't quite 'landed' as well with the audience who do the voting. So I think with that as a backdrop, he really put everything into the performance and it worked, he won that night and ended up coming 2nd overall.
I will cop flack for this but a lot of people claim he came second because the Chinese didn't want a foreign winner, but I suspect it was a sum total thing and though he had the best single performance, his weaker ones may have just swayed the deision as the winner (I think) was consistantly good.
I would have made him the winner as obviously I am a fan but there are reasons that don't require conspiracy theories or accuasations of racial (country) bias.

This was in 2017 at the I am Singer competition in China. This competition catapulted Dimash to fame in China after his first performance of SOS. The people you see back stage are his fellow competitors. They loved Dimash and he became good friends with a few of them. In particular Terry Lin, the guy in the glasses, whom he Dimash nicknamed “uncle”. There is a video of them performing Unforgettable Day together which is well worth you reacting to. ❤

The father of Dimash does not wear glasses. Here`s a link with Dimash, his father and mother singing together. And if you listen carefully, you can hear that Dimash and his mother have quite similar voices, because she is a soprano singer, and probably sung alot when she was pregnant with Dimash.
And in the audiens his MAMA (grandmother who raised the first born (grand)son untill he was 10. It`s a tradition that in Kazhakstan parents give away their first born son to their parents. And when Dimash was 10 years they moved back to the family. and they all live together, in the same house.

Singer was a Chinese competition and Dimash came in second. The reason is because no foreigners were allowed to win. They have since changed that rule. The first song Dimash sang in the competition was SOS and he was famous overnight. He has millions of fans around the world, deservedly so. I'm glad to see you on your Dimash journey. Thank you.

Definitely the best version of this song. Yes they were the other contestants. The girl who was moving her jaw was one of the music partners (announcer/companion to the band) and the other guys in that room are one band. Crazy hair guy is the guitarist for the Lion band. Then you got the other room of people and they are singers who already performed and their music partners. So anyone in a "green" room has yet to perform, and everyone together has already performed. Dimash was 4th to perform that day.
Technically he achieved international fame (outside of Kazakhstan) in 2015, at the Slavic (Slavianski) Bazaar, which is in Belarus. Which led him to be invited to The Singer show in 2017 in China. He even sang SOS at the Slavic Bazaar in 2015. The glasses guy, Terry Lin, is biologically not his father, but during the show they do bond and Dimash does affectionately call him dad. Terry and Dimash's friendship does bloom throughout the show. Terry came in at episode 5 and they do comment about their physical feature as they look a like. Actually in the first episode just as Dimash is about to sing SOS, Jam from the Lion band says he looks the Taiwanese singer Terry Lin.

At “The Singer” |(China - 2017), he presented a composition by Bruno Mars, but the result was not good and he lost significant points! The following week he gave himself body, soul and knee (in addition to wearing a suit with blue, which is the color of the Kazakhstan flag) and presented, playing piano, the music written for Lara Fabian (with a melody of the music of the classical composer , Tomaso Albinone), “ADAGIO”: This performance is considered a masterpiece by Dimash!

I'm new to your channel but I did really enjoy your reaction. So, no, NOT the first of him "getting himself out there".. just the show that made him instantly famous in China and then it propelled from there. The guy with the glasses is Terry Lin, a very famous singer in China who instantly became Dimash' very, very close friend and supporter, but he was also a competitor as were all of the other guys on the couch. Dimash sang 14 songs in this competition, and everyone really knew deep down that he won that competition, but a girl won, mostly because Dimash was from Kazakhstan, the only one non-Chinese, and she ended up singing, although she was very good, as well. I would actually stay for a little while and explore his other songs in this show so that when you venture into later years, you can actually see (incredibly!) his progression in actually having gotten even better! I would suggest his cover of "Hello" by Lionel Ritchie. Dimash made Lionel sound like an amateur after doing it over. Look forward to your next reaction to our beloved Prince!🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍

Dimash had a prior engagement so they had no time to rehearse and Terry thought Dimash wouldnt be able to come. But he came anyways. Thats how he is. After the singing they talk a lot and unless you understand chinese or kasakh you can skip to the very end when Dimash sings happy birthday to Terry.

The guy with the glasses is Terry Lin, another contestant, they developed a father son relationship during the contest and Terry supported him in many ways during Dimash's 3 years in China, even turning up to Dimash's recording studio on Christmas Eve with a cake to surprise him.

The interpretation of the song by Dimash is brilliant. He touches my heart and soul ... every time.
The shaking of his head and the trembling of the chin has nothing to do with the vibrato. It just goes to show that Dimash can be a little nervous and tense too. It was about a lot. ОБРАЗОВАНИЕ
1999 - начал брать уроки игры на фортепиано и вокала в детской студии Актюбинского музыкального колледжа им. А. Жубанова.
2010 - 2014 - студент Актюбинского музыкального колледжа им. А. Жубанова, по специальности «Оперное пение»
2014 - 2018 - студент КазНУИ (Казахский Национальный Университет Искусств) степень бакалавра по специальности «Эстрадное искусство», Астана
с 2018 - продолжил учёбу в магистратуре КазНУИ, по специальности «Композитор»
2020 - окончил магистратуру по специальности "Композитор". На данное время продолжает обучение на докторантуре КазНУИ по специальности "Музыковедение".
28 декабря 2022 года Димаш получил престижную стипендию «Болашак». Он пройдёт годичную стажировку в ведущем вузе США - "New York Film Academy" по специальности «Режиссура». На данное время он находится в Лос-Анжелесе, занимаясь творческой деятельностью. В ближайшие месяцы у него состоятся три масштабных сольных концерта в Ереване, Анталии, Малайзии. Анонсы этих концертов есть на официальном канале артиста.
Голос Димаша завораживает, а манера исполнения уникальна. Одни и те же песни неповторимы, поэтому смотреть нужно каждую версию любой его композиции. Очень интересно наблюдать эволюцию Димаша как в творческом, так и в профессиональном плане, всегда поражаясь, насколько человек, благодаря усердию и трудолюбию, развил свои уникальные природные способности и отточил до совершенства свой вокальный дар.

The person they kept panning to with the glasses is another more seasoned contestant named Terry Lin. He also can hit pretty high notes and was a person Dimash looked up to before they were together on the show. Dimash became very close to Terry during this competition and actually started calling him Papa Lin . Dimashes Father actually surprises Dimash by coming to the show the second week when he sings Opera 2 . If you can find the right version of the show and watch until the very end you can see the moment when Dimash realizes his Dad is there. Very heartwarming !

Great reaction as always. Terry Lin, the man with the glasses, he's another contestant and I think already won in a previous season (?). They were close friends and Terry Lin was very supportive of Dimash. Dimash nicknamed him his Papa in the show 😆😁.
Dimash was the youngest contestant and had never been far from home for that long period, the other contestants were really kind and many among them remained friends.
Anyway, this song was originally sung by Lara Fabian. Dimash is a huge fan of hers and even got to sing with her in later years. She oozes passion in her performances like no other, the drama is piercingly real! SOS from this show was his very first performance and what started his popularity. Also, Dimash's dad doesn't show up until he does the performance of "Opera 2" on this show. He shows up as a surprise to Dimash. Dimash didn't realize his dad was there until after he finished the song.
