But the dog animatronic is supposed to be a reference to none other than the iconic FNAF hoax "Sparky the Dog."
(And fun fact, MatPat's name in this movie "Ness" is actually a nod to his famous "Sans is Ness" theory, in which Scott suggested himself, even mentioning the Sans is Ness thing himself.)
Fun fact: Markiplier was originally going to be the night guard from the opening but there where scheduling issues

30:32 I like to personally think that blonde kid here, who turned out to be Golden Freddy later on, KNEW who Mike is looking for. He drew that for Mike. For some reason the other kids didn’t figure it out until the end of the movie. And it makes the last shot of blonde kid staring down coldly at Afton’s squirming should-be-corpse trapped in the bunny suit more compelling, it’s like a stance.
A stance that says: “I knew all along and now the others know. The truth is set free, but you’re staying here.
Forever.”
Yes, Cassidy really felt like he knew more than he let on, but also that had less power than the others. He only shows up in person when he goes to fetch Abby and bring her to the pizzeria and at the end when he glares at Springtrap, while the others have a lot more time in the real world moving around as the animatronics. This is most apparent on the third night. The other four kids are playing with Abby while Mike is sleeping, so only Cassidy is in Mike's dreams talking to him. Also, Cassidy shows Mike the rabbit drawing when none of the other children are around.
Poor sweet Mike, he’s been through so much, I can relate to him deeply, he’s an angel who people see him as an ignorant person, but in reality… he’s nothing more than a caring protective sweetheart

@@SpeedyCheetahCub Grant`s character is actually Andrew, not Cassidy. They switched up which of the Ghost Children possessed which animatronics compared to The Games and Book. That is not uncommon in adaptations.
I believe the movie has some different lore than the games. Security Breach Vanessa (aka Vanny) wasn’t born until long after William Afton’s death
I am interested to see more lore in the movies though. Can’t wait to see the sequels
I feel like in the movie case if Vanessa is William Afton daughter so Mike might be a represent of Henry Emily’s family, furthermore if Garret was William’s first victim since he gave Garret’s airplane to his daughter after he kill him then it would be like in the game where Charlies Emily was also William’s first kill

I'm so glad you stayed for the ending credits message! When I saw it in theaters, I was the only one left in the theater and it was so creepy to be all alone while that voice spelled out COME FIND ME LOL and I haven't seen many people mention it! I also like watching this since I can definitely tell you're a fellow fan! Something I for one appreciated (along the lines like you mentioned the animatronics moving the way they do in the game like Chica in the kitchen) is how well-integrated the audio from the games is in here. Fantastic reaction!

The movie was such a fun time since the theatre I went to exploded in cheers and gasps during the big moments and everyone just lost it seeing Matpat was there and was just a wonderful time with chill folks and really cool cosplayers ^•^
Okay the editing at the beginning and the phone call were AMAZING! I even got jump scared when Funtime Foxy jumped out

Just got back from watching the movie in the cinema, and needless to say I LOVED IT. I was also surprised to see that there are a lot of fans here in our region, and it was really awesome seeing cosplayers in person and it made me wanna try out cosplaying. Waiting to watch this movie in the mall today really opened up some doors for new interests for me (like again, cosplaying) and I'm really happy with how the movie came out, I did see why people didn't see this as scary but I still loved it nonetheless and I did get a bunch of spooks even from the simplest sounds (Like Mike opening a door or something TwT)
Overall, this movie is a 10/10 for me as a FNAF fan, and I also hope that they fix most of the problems (that I didn't mind) in this movie for a sequel.

It was a pretty smart move on his part to put the Yellow Rabbit head back on. Afton already knows the children were able to come back to life within the animatronics, and he's able to exert a degree of control over them (something Afton in other continuities took way more time to learn, so he's ahead of the others there). So, him remasking himself and saying the line is an indicator that he's at least a little confident he'll also come back to life so long as he's fully in the suit.

First, “COME FIND ME” is a reference to the FNAF 2 mini-games, and a music box is playing. That ain’t William. That’s the Puppet!
Second, the doll animatronic Abby was almost stuffed into is an homage to Ella from the book trilogy. The dog is called Sparky: an animatronic people thought they saw in the first game. I didn’t pick up on any of that when I watched the movie, let alone the anagram of Abby and Baby.
Third, the taxi cab driver is a UA-camr, CoryxKenshin, who helped the FNAF franchise skyrocket. MatPat painfully stayed quiet about his role in this movie, and appreciates the fanbase sticking up for him anyway. Mark was supposed to be the security guard at the beginning, but the day of recording for that scene just so happened to overlap crucial recording for his own movie, Iron Lung.

I have a theory (A GAME/FILM THEORY) that the blonde haired kid is not just possessing Golden Freddy, but the Cupcake as well. It might be a twist on the theory that two souls are possessing the one Golden Freddy in the games. Instead of two souls possessing one animatronic, it’s one soul possessing two animatronics. And maybe the reason why Golden Freddy disappears after Abby goes into the pizzeria, (and is never even seen inside the pizzeria) is because that suit might be at a second location, and the kid can only have that half of him exist as a ghost. But probably because either, parts of the child’s body was stuffed in both GF and the Cupcake, or maybe he was related to the girl inside Chica, he’s able to posses both animatronics. (His much more sinister demeanor might also be why the Cupcake is much more hostile, or maybe, because Golden Freddy is much more stealthy, and the Cupcake is much more like blind rage, that suit might have the most of the blonde kid inside, with his actual remains, while the Cupcake is mostly fueled by his agony, which in the books is shown to be such a powerful emotion that it has the ability to curse places and things with the overall trauma of what happened to them or near them or whatever. And all the agony of everything that happened at Freddy’s, plus the personal tragedy of being one of the casualties, makes the Cupcake basically mutate and malfunction into a rabid monster! But because he might be related to the girl who was stuffed inside Chica, and/or might also have some of his remains inside two separate animatronics, he’s pretty much tethered to two separate animatronics (Golden Freddy and the Cupcake) in two separate locations!

In the whole games my favourite character is: William afton/ Springtrap. But in the movie my favourites are: Foxy and Bonnie, i just can't decide between them there both so adorable yet menacing at the same time. Even tho Scott and a few crew members of the movie said that Bonnie is the most aggressive and you can see that when he kills Hank (the man who screams like a girl and hide in the closet), i still really like him.
So the sound proofing in my cinema was not working right, we outvoiced the kareoke bar next door.

I watched another UA-camr reacting to the Fnaf movie when GF is making this proposition to Mike; saying Mike can have this “dream” EVERY night. Like I said in that comment section, it hits me like the faz-van: it’s GF CHANGING the dream, he’s manipulating what goes on in the dreamscape to psychologically corner Mike in.
Think UCN. Later in the timeline GF somehow got a hold of a crispy burnt Springtrap & puts him a coma-like state instead of finally dying. GF traps Afton basically in a hellish dreamscape where places/objects/animatronics he has memories of appears & disappears in a snap like in Mike’s dream! And “every night” becomes 🔥eternity🔥 to torture Afton in this pseudo afterlife.
We all know it’s GF, the lil gremlin. But it’s so cool that a seemingly small detail that turns out to be HUGE in the lore is RIGHT THERE in plain sight. It could be that GF prolly developed these powers seemingly this EARLY in the timeline 😅
A few fun facts: Markiplier was making his movie “Iron Lung” so he couldn’t be apart of the FNAF Movie. MatPat also kinda spoiled it on Film Theory, for me at least, and CoryxKenshin wasn’t the original taxi driver.

For those in the comments who are curious as to why the plot doesn’t align with some bits and pieces of the game lore, allow me to explain. This movie does what some of the the FNAF books do, they don’t align with the game lore and are completely separate. That’s why the Michael in the FNAF movie isn’t the same Michael in the FNAF games…the movie Michael’s sister is alive and named Abbey while the game Michael’s sister is dead and named Elizabeth, movie Michael isn’t the son of William Afton and movie Vanessa is and game Michael is the son of William Afton and game Vanessa doesn’t show up until security breach.
Just to clarify this is just a sum up of how this works and if you’re looking for a better explanation of how the movie is different from the game, I would suggest looking for a UA-cam video or something that does a deep dive in explaining how some of(or all, I’m not too sure) the books are separate from the game and then look for a video or something that does a deep dive on how this movie does the same thing as the some of and/or all of the FNAF books.

Okay, Morgan the doll animatronic is Charlie's old doll from The Silver Eyes books, and the dog was a fan made animatronic named Sparky. Just some fun facts.
To add to the hilarity of Matpat’s cameo, for almost the entire month leading towards the movie, MatPat was really playing up this idea that he was not actually cast into the movie, and acted upset seeing other UA-camrs who did end up cameoing in it, like Cory. He did it so well, in fact, that a lot of his fans were actually angry at the producers of the movie, and Scott, for not inviting him to be apart of the movie.
Just saw this movie today (in a purple suit of course) and it was a phenomenal experience

I found the movie to be pretty good. It may not be perfect, but it was made for the fans and succeeded in pleasing them. That's what matters. And I appreciate the work put into making this. I love how welk the animatronics work, Matthew Lillard is amazing, and it's clear they did string the lore together as best they could.

@@CruddySpark115true, the FunTimes specifically Baby, Ballora, & the Minreenas (the tiny ballet bots) look very doll-like so Afton must’ve gotten some inspiration from what could be the stand-in for the Ella doll. Presumably perhaps a doll/toy of Vannesa’s when she was younger 🤔
The scene where Mike had to choose between Garret and Abby hit me so hard because I lost my little brother to cancer when I was 10 and he’d just turned 6 and my mom had my little sister about half a year before he died. I’m 18 now and still have dreams about him being around every now and then and I know that if I were in Mike’s situation I would’ve chose my little brother over my little sister too. I love my little sister to death but we’re 10 years apart and the bond isn’t nearly as close as it was with me and my brother. While watching this in theaters when Mike said “yes” I could hear people in the audience scoffing and being frustrated at him but I was in tears thinking “same”

I've lost my mother about 2/3 years ago, she meant almost everything to me, since then some scenes from movies and games changed because i can feel it now. (Like the flash movie when he talked to his mother at the end)
- On one hand, he spend most of the time dreaming about "the accident", almost obsessed with it.
- On the other, his sister is all he have left, and despite not showing it that much, she cares about him.
Personally, I was... 50/50.
One part was not blaming him from wanting this... But at the same time, he have to basically sacrifice her sister for it.

I like that the animatronics aren’t evil. In the end when Chika tried to kill Abby, that was Afton controlling them and manipulating them.
Also I’m pretty sure golden Freddy’s spirit is supposed to be Cassidy (I looked, it can be a boy name too) and I kinda liked that they made him the leader of the kids

I don't know if you know this, but in the beta content of Security Breach, Vanessa was supposed to be a lot nicer, and it seems they based themselves on that version of Vanessa, which I personally appreciate.
Blumhouse is known for doing a bunch of low budget movies, especially horror. The nice thing about working with Blumhouse is that they give directors and writers a lot of creative freedom. If it does well, it’s super profitable. If not, they didn’t spend all that much on it so it’s fine.
i'll state some references that were added in the movies! [Some lore also]
- Mattpat's character name in the movie is referred as Ness, it's a reference to his ness is san theory!
- The dog animatronic was a known fake animatronic was created by a fan. The dog's name is Sparky and as well the diner that Matt works on is named after it.
- The springed lock that Chica was going to stuff Abby in is a doll named Ella, she appears to be in the Silver eyes book as well in one of the fazbear short stories
- Storyline of when Abby uses the drawing to backfire William's plan is pretty much the same concept in the first book [Silver Eyes] aswell with the scenes of Abby hiding from Foxy and Springtrap getting dragged by all the main animatronics.
- First scene where the night guard was escaping was supposed to be Mark, but since he's busy they added in another actor. His name is Fritz similar to the name in the 2nd game.
- The knife sharpen movement that william does is reference to Matthew's role in scream.
There were also 2 references, at least that I caught, near the start of the movie.
The book labeled "Dream Theory" was named after a theory back when FNAF 4 first released, where the entire series up to that point was one long dream (The minigame sequences in Fnaf 4 have callbacks to previous games like a Springbonnie plush being a fingertrap, a Chica figurine missing their beak, a Foxy plush's head being missing / out of order, constantly being jumpscared by your older brother with a Foxy mask. Also, the grandfather clock appearing in Fnaf 4's hallway, and being heard in the other games at 6 AM, but a hospital alarm is heard in the fourth, hospital equipment sometimes appearing next to the bed, etc)
The ice cream store that Mike was at in the mall has the Rainbow from the FNAF World rage minigame, I believe it was called "Chica's Magic Rainbow".

It Breaks My Mind that this movie is actually finally here, because It's Been So Long since it was announced. And there are so many hidden details hidden Below The Surface. I Got No Time to find them all myself, but I'll Never Be Alone finding out about them from others. Although I will say realizing what Abby is an anagram for made me want to Die In A Fire and Dance To Forget.

It wasn’t probably, it WAS the first ever hoax to ever be created for FNAF
Personally I think the animatronics were less aggro on Mike for a while because they didn't quite know what to make of him. In the second night Foxy just happened to be the one observing him while he was asleep. That lines up with the dream with the kid with the hook being the closest to him. The kids are mostly untrusting of adults so when Mike grabbed him he reflexively retaliated and ran out of the room while he was dreaming. And since the spirits of the kids could see his dreams and that he was also wronged by Afton they were more hesitant to outright kill him like the guard in the intro since they could somewhat relate to him. And they seemed to be aqauinted with his sister as well so I guess they just chose to mostly observe. They interact with kids just fine because they are still kids. But with adults it's a different story since an adult took their lives. Mike is lucky the circumstances lined up for them to not outright kill him in the first few nights while he slept through his shift. They may have eventually decided to endgame him as well if he didn't take Abby with him on the third night. Then again during that night while he was sleeping he did start bargaining with the kid that possessed Golden Freddy so they may have left him alone that night.
