This is still a technically impressive game but playing it back when I was a kid was annoying, I even got to an unwinnable situation where I had no ammo, a random encounter happened and I instantly died because the game auto kills you if you have no ammo.
Yeah this happened to me just now while in the Library. If you keep walking into the center. The enemies reappear and you need at least 25 ammo to kill them. And the Shotgun had the firing clip removed so it's not usable yet.

@@retro2ds395 I can't even begin to describe how stupid your comment is. Because it's absolutely not the same.. What sort of weird irony...Resident Evil 1's attempted GBC port that would've actually replicated the actual PS1 game's style didn't pan out so they instead sprang for a weird spinoff with an odd encounter system, but this game ACTUALLY DOES its counterpart's regular gameplay and its encounters...are actually an action system instead of RE Gaiden's weird system. I'm actually getting some crazy respect for this attempted reboot, at least it seemingly tried to stick to its roots while trying new things unlike that disaster of a second reboot.
This game is awesome. I bought it about 3 months ago and it has became one of my top 10 favorite GameBoy Color games. I love the graphics, it's so good. These graphics are really impressive for a GameBoy Color game. The battle system is kinda weird but it's not to bad. I really wish they also released and finished the Resident Evil GBC port. That port is impressive as well and if it was finished and of course more polish look to it, I think it would sell pretty well. Awesome gameplay videos :)
lol, I bought my GBC pretty much just for that port of RE1, and then they cancelled it. They made it up to me years later with Deadly Silence. I finally played the beta build of RE GBC on my hacked 3DS, and while it _is_ impressive for the hardware, I can definitely see why they pulled the plug on it. @@AgentMorgan2010 I have Resident Evil: Deadly Silent on the DS and on eBay bought the Resident Evil GBC prototype. I just think if it was more polished and they found a way to make the gameplay run more smoothly, it would have been definitely one of the most impressive GBC games that's playable...
@@longplaygamer1004 Yeah, I'm just not convinced they actually could have pulled that off. The hardware was just too limited for it. Even this AitD port had to make a concession on the combat.
