Lol. You don't have to put a disclaimer before your opinion, most fans are disappointed and are dragging the series. I personally was extremely bored while watching and I fast-forwarded a lot of scenes. It seemed to be more about her father and siblings than her. Her family refuses to humanize her or reveal any conflicts she had. Christian should not have taken this role because of all that came with it and her lack of resemblance to Selena. She was not believable on screen as Selena AT ALL. Honestly, this show came off as a Disney sitcom and I would have rather seen a series from Chris' perspective.

And yes a series in Chris's perspective wpuld have shown us a lot more about Selena

hello i’m a selena fan from scotland in the uk i sadly discovered Selena after her murder because of the JLo movie and i prefer the movie much better. i binged the first part of the netflix series and thought it was okay though Selena deserved so much better from netflix and i will watch part 2 on netflix when it comes back. i don’t think it will gain Selena many new fans which is a shame. stay safe in 2020 😷🏴 ( virtual long distance hugs) miss the real Selena
She did deserve better, they could have done more. I don't think it did what it could have for people who dont know who she is. But i will be watching part 2 as well since I did want to give it a chance. Thank you, you stay safe as well! Miss her too 😢 Thank you for watching 🤗✨
I thought the same thing about her dancing! But yes still a good show. Still felt like it was mostly about her concerts than what her life was like but its hard to show what she felt like since she isn't here to tell her story ❤
yeah they did focus on a lot of things that people have already seen through videos of the award shows and concerts but I feel like they didn't want it to be boring I guess. Agreed, there is probably a lot that her family didn't know because she kept to herself

She is! I think this vibe as a "badass" in TWD suits her very well which I would not have said back when I saw her in twilight first. But yea I dont think she was bad but this role didn't suit her. If her choreographer was a dance double you would be able to tell right away by her body shape 😂😂
I agree with everything you said! I’m Native American/Mexican American and I loved how the series showed more of Selena trying to find her identity as a Mexican American. Selena makes me proud to be Mexican American! I’ve been to Corpus Christi and Lake Jackson. You can feel her heart warming presence. Everybody loves her there! I’m from a Native American reservation in South Dakota and I only dreamed about visiting Texas but then I saved up my money and took my family on a Selena vacation. Selena was a one of a kind person!!!!!! She passed 3 years before I was born but my family actually went to her concerts. My Mexican family is from Corpus Christi. They told me how “star gazed” they were of Selena. Me and my family went to the beach while in Corpus Christi and I brought my beats pill speaker with me so I played Selena’s music. People walked by and said “Aww it’s Selena!” Some people actually sat down next to us just to listen to her music! I will never forget that day!!!

I can only imagine how much love the people have for her down there and how proud they are to have her fans visit those cities. There really was something so so special about her that cant be replicated. So glad you have someone to look up to and who showed pride of her roots 🙌🏽
I AM DISAPPOINTED OF THIS SELENA THE SERIES I DO NOT LIKE THE THE ACTORS. THEY DO NOT LOOK LIKE QUITANILLA FAMILY AT ALL. JLO HAD NEED TO PRACTICES ALOT TO DO THE SELENA THE MOVIE.JLO DID THE BEST ROLL WHEN SHE DID SELENA THE NOVIE.THIS IS MY OPINION 🤗🤗🤗

Selena was a Hispanic icon, Netflix did do her Justice. She's worth more than that slap together series.
