Rumble has a decent user interface and it seems to be growing rapidly. I've been looking for a UA-cam alternative as the censorship here has been getting out of control in recent years.
rumble is good for news and policital debate (i use to acces jimmy dore, glenn, sputiniks and 247) butt they dont have nothing else besides politics there
@@mozamboni yeah, I am not trash talking rumble (I even use) and have plataforms focused on things is good, but generate problems like the Lon channel there, I don't even think in search about other topics because the plataform is 99% focused on politics
Here's the problem, everyone complaining about a "UA-cam competitor" conveniently forgets that UA-cam took well over a decade to reach the level it's currently at. It does take time and if none of the creators want to go help build up the current alternatives (Odysee, Rumble, Bitchute, etc.) then they have no right to complain.
Solid video I’ve been honestly looking at alternatives for UA-cam for a while now aside from Amazon I haven’t really found anything but I’m definitely gonna look into some of the stuff that you talked about in the video so thank you so much for sharing and have a good one I look forward to the next one.
Back in the day when google took over UA-cam and see the service go in a direction that I wasn't a fan of, I was hoping that Vimeo would take over that spot specially as they used better quality video (compression and website code) and already had a lot of videographers on their platform and a lot of video and photography topics (by pros) sadly many of the creators didn't make the move.
Vimeo actually kicked my local news startup off their platform because it was "too commercial." They have mostly positioned themselves as a hosting provider vs. a platform - which in the end actually worked for them as many of the platforms at the time that went the ad-supported route didn't survive.
Vimeo has really cranked up their professional services in recent years. You can live stream to Vimeo and have it feed UA-cam, Facebook, Twitch, and LinkedIn. So there may be a lot of people using Vimeo who don't use it for the customer facing features.
I wish I had known you were on Rumble, would have caught your stuff there instead. Anyone I watch who is on Rumble or Odysee I watch them there instead of UA-cam. I watch who I watch on those sights first, then UA-cam is my last resort, mainly because I am not of fan of their censorship. I'm looking forward to a time when I no longer watch UA-cam at all. I also catch some of my favorites on Locals now.
A larger question is how much time people are spending on UA-cam and similar, versus legacy TV, the multitude of cable channels popping up and streaming. I watch almost no "TV" any more, finding the content on UA-cam far more interesting, honest and intelligent. The 4K TV I bought 2 years ago just sits dark in the corner. Will Google use the momentum of UA-cam to further encroach on these other media outlets, beyond UA-cam TV?
It doesn't surprise me Facebook wasn't a good fit for your content. Personally as a viewer I do not consume anything from Facebook. As a matter of fact I block it from my home network so nobody can consume anything from that platform. I find its interface antiquated and IMHO do not like their focus or company values. Thanks for always providing interesting content with an honest respect for your viewers.
Say what you want about the UA-cam "algorithm", but it's been pure garbage as of late, as on the homepage it's recommending low quality garbage I'd never watch in a million years like nasty muckbang videos, or crazy liberal podcasters, or saying I've not watched a video that I just watched minutes to a few hours ago, or how about trying to recommend me videos I've already watched that are 6 months to 6+ years old for channels I'm subbed too!! IMHO it's gotten so bad I wish UA-cam would just turn the recommendations off!, and this is why I'm also on Odysee, and Bitcute for my YT alternatives, and I would be on them more if more of the people I found years ago on YT would upload content to those sites.
I'd be very surprised if Instagram works out. Instagram feels very similar to TikTok and UA-cam Shorts in that the app format is meant for short form, rapidly scrollable content. People are probably so used to flicking through the content there that most likely won't stay for longer than a minute.
Rumble has grown rapidly. They pay 90% of revenue to the content creator. A true YT alternative won't come for a while, mainly due to user apathy toward change. But as YT censorship grows, both creators and user would start to migrate to other platforms.
@@LonSeidman I guess it depends on the niche. I have seen 600,000 watch live broadcasts. That is not trivial. I think for now, Rumble sees the most viewers for political content creators. Compared to YT of course, Rumble is a toddler. But that is changing. If YT continues on its censorship trajectory, alternate platforms would continue to grow.
Side note.. I do enjoy your random reviews.. printers camera thumb drives .. heck what ever random bits you find that we can’t watch repeated 100 times over on other channels
Also your disclaimer at start added so much credibility, never trusted a random internet person more (from my purchases of your recommendations and my satisfaction) truly a true review! Keep it up Lon -bob from Washington state
I wouldn't mind using Odyssey, but the problem is just as much on the creators as it is the viewers, if fewer than half the people I reguarly watch on youtube also upload on an alternative then I'm just too lazy to constantly switch back and forth between both of them.
Truth Social is supposed to launch in February and it will for sure have a very large viewership, the conservative audience in America that is tired of censorship, perceived or real. My hope is that it doesn't become an echo chamber but actually develops a diverse viewership with a myriad of content creators. It's probably worth taking a look. I'm going to join, at least long enough to see how it develops. Just a thought.
Truth social will be, "using Silicon Valley AI company to auto-moderate "sexually-explicit content and posts that include violence, bullying, hate speech, and spam."" So basically it will rely on the exact same types of tech and people that got Trump booted from Twitter. No thanks.
Trump is cancer. Anything he makes will be an instrument to manipulate people. Hope the Americans are not dumb enough to reelect this guy.... (and I am not even a US person, I am European)

Why would you make a video about alternatives when really you're only pushing Amazon which isn't valid for 99% of content creators? Amazon is a marketplace for selling and unless you're doing product reviews, it's worthless. People need an alternative that is a video service for videos not a marketplace for products that has an extra video feature that helps THEM make money. Vidme were idiots from jump. They made the same mistake Netflix made. Of course infrastructure would be astronomical!!
