Corrugated steel roof on welded tubular steel framing. Never seen it being done quite like this, but in Asia this seems to be common practice. Makes me wonder, why it's done so much more expensive around here. Additional loads by snow and heavy rain may be two reasons.

You’re right-using corrugated steel on welded tubular steel framing is quite common in Asia due to its durability and cost-effectiveness in certain climates. In regions with heavy snow and rain, additional support and insulation can drive up costs significantly. Different environmental factors and building codes play a big role in these variations. It’s fascinating how construction practices adapt to local conditions!

@@tienluong8669 and then there's building codes. Here in Germany these are partly responsible for an ever increasing shortage of living space, as building costs get inflated massively by mandatory insulation, ceilings mandatorily built to load factors far exceeding any normal living room use and even mandatory soundproofing. I myself live in a 120 year old house that is built quite similar to asian practices. Of course it's still standing solidly. Mostly brick, very little concrete (added much later, there was no flooring in the basement originally) and a wood- frame upper storey covered in brick roofing tiles. Building a house like that would be illegal around here nowadays- ironically most of the German cities are still built like that, as houses tend to last a lot longer than humans. Makes no sense really, but hey, that's bureaucracy and a very powerful building material industry keen on selling their products (mostly insulation material based on polystyrene, which I hate because I consider it a fire hazard and rightly so. Something very similar to Grenfell Tower happened right here a lot earlier... No deaths tho because German fire fighters don't act to the "stay put" rule, but help trapped people out first) I could talk a whole night about what's going wrong in our building industry, that's why I love watching all of you build the good old simple way.

All this time to cut and assemble the rafter components and welding without protective glasses. One missed blink and your eyes will be damaged. This is not a good practice. Buy some inexpensive glasses at least!!!

I get what you mean-having a roof like that inside the home every time it rains can be quite the experience! It’s great that you appreciate the effort and the financial considerations involved. Sometimes these choices are a balance between practicality and budget, and it’s interesting to see how different regions approach these challenges.

Dear @tienluong8669, the situation you describe in the last sentence of your response is completely understandable to me. I in no way wanted to devalue your skill, hard work and activity. Just because of my sympathy for you, I've been following you since the very beginning and I don't intend to stop. I just put myself in the role of your sister for a moment, who will live under the installed roof in your very rainy country. That's all.
