Using a scope instead of the reflex will help a lot with the vats shots whiffing off into nowhere. I only use mine in vats but still use a long scope for the vats accuracy increase

Wiggles running a full health build so he may need it more but on a bloodied build you shouldn’t need the AP as much. And if you do, just slap a VATS optimized mod on it instead of faster reload.
Back in the day, explosive Gauss rifles had their explosion overwritten by the legendary explosion. Gauss rifle natural explosions do more damage in a larger area. So, during legacy time the only legacy weapons that were actually buffed when they removed the explosive lasers were Gauss rifles, because they got their explosions back

I find there's no point in watching videos about OP weapons in a game, because it's usually an oversight by the devs and once the video catches on, the devs will take notice, fix the oversight, the weapon will no longer be OP and the video will become obsolete/outdated within a few weeks
Gauss weapons are bugged right now and the 20% explosive legendary effect is actually adding the damage directly into the weapons damage and not only to the explosions them selfs, it shows when you put the explosion mod on the gauss weapons, just go into weapon bench and hover over all the legendary 2 star effects, for some ord reason when you add the explosion effect the weapons damage increases by 20% this is why we see high damage numbers with gauss weapons right now as they are bugged.
I’m experimenting on the Gauss Minigun on which has better damage. Testing a Bloodied Ex and a TsEx: After doing daily ops and wes teks with both, I’ve found the BEx to have higher average DPS and faster ttk. This is mostly due to the improved accuracy that is lost in the TS effect, being less reliable at medium to longer range While I still need to test TsE in closer range engagements, I prefer bloodied/Anti-armor

I don't think Demolition Expert perk works anymore on the explosive legendary effect. I can confirm that it no longer effects explosive effect on ballistic rifles, submachine gun, 5mm minigun, .50 cal, or LMG
the plasma gun (not gatling) with the weird mod that was nerfed a few months back is pretty cool again. regular plasma gun ÷ flamer barrel + weird power drain mod thing + explosive. 300 ammo, flamer fire rate, long range exploding projectiles. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I guess I really should choose a primary build rather than trying to cover melee, enclave plasma flamer, Holy Fire and VATS Railway Rifle. Once I get all the Rifleman perks back (burned them to raise legendary stats faster). Also stop carry so much food and chems!
I probably want an instigating explosion 50 dmg resist while aiming gauss rifle. I used to use the aim damage effect on the gauss, but explosive is probably better.
explosive is bad for instigating. the splash on a mob or if you miss voids the instigating and you lose that first heavy hit. with instigating vats hit chance is definitely the best second perk.

I uninstalled this game out of frustration due to the constant bugs, crashing, losing my season points, boosters, my builds getting nerfed, and the constant tight FOMO that negs you to log in every day to do virtual chores or you'll miss the "rewards". But I have to admit it has me curious if I can salvage gauss shotgun with AA/EX/-AP cost or try out the Kabloom again.
What's the deal with the triple stacked exploding? Is that a visual bug or really on the weapon? I've built a AA gauss with the exploding effect and +40% pen capacitors but only list at 448 pipboy dmg with all the related perk cards slotted. Did I miss something or does Quad affect sheet dmg now ?
@@wiggle_plays one thing I noticed tho was your damage with Q/E was only like 10 points of dmg difference per shot from the AA/E I'm using now, and when comparing AA/E vs AA/50c the dmg was almost exactly the same

Please stop using level 3 damage perks. It's an additive perk and a waste of points. You get 30% total for 3 points vs 60% for 9 points. Level 1 of each perk is what you want. P.S. good numbers for full health build.
That would work if you want to slot in other perks...but having a dedicated build like wiggle usually does... he has the room for the rank 3 rifleman perks

please refrain from using exaggerated expressions such as ‘insane’ and ‘crazy’ and ‘op’, it’s nowhere nearly as powerful as the good old legacies but we all know what bethesda does whenever they hear them.
Gauss weapons are complete trash in my experience. Very inconsistent especially in vats. Specifically the shotgun. The mini gun was an absolute waste of gold bullion. And the rifle is garbage too. For the base damage they do they do not kill enemies as quickly as I thought. And they completely suck in pvp.

It's an awesome gun i use often inbetween events. Next to that I had the gauss shotgun but they nerfed it from 88 x 8 to 50 x 8, which is a shame 😢

seriously... my Gauss shotgun used to do 108 x 8 now it does 48 x 8... I really think someone at Bethesda hates the Gauss Shotgun.

One thing i hate the most for the gauss series is the reload issue , need to fire then push the reload button same time to reload
