Aiden is correct. There are two identical Boeing VC25 aircraft [heavily modified 747s]. There are at least 2 Boeing C-32 twin engine jets [modified 757] and numerous smaller aircraft for the Vice president and Cabinet officers. The President chose any plane he wants. Any plane that the President is on becomes AIR FORCE ONE.
Air Force One is not the name of the plane itself, but the callsign of any aircraft that is carrying the US President. So if the president got on a small Cessna, that plane would be referred to as Air Force One. Though you can also refer to any Air Force aircraft built to transport the president as Air Force One as well. Well at least as far as I remember.
Air Force 1 is essentially a flying White House. The President has everything he needs to do his job while onboard. Often the President has quite the entourage with his staff, secret service and press corps all on board.
There are two planes so that maintenance can be done. But the official call sign is applied only when the president is onboard. In fact any plane with the president becomes Air Force One when they are onboard.
Both of them fly on Presidential trips. One lands at one airport either as the carrier of the President or a backup/decoy and the other lands at the next nearest airport. An E4B is usually with the group when flying in the US, but is almost always stationed nearby on all international trips. Additionally, as a tertiary backup for Presidential evacuation one of the plain white executive jets is stationed at a third airport in case the two primary aircraft or their areas are compromised. That's in addition to the cargo planes that carrying all of the helicopters, Secret Service personnel and motorcade vehicles, naturally, though those fly separately from the President and there are usually at least three sets landing and setting up in advance so when the Presidential group arrives they can just hop into whatever and get on with things.
Yes there 2 planes in the presidential fleet of vehicles of the POTUS. Angel 2300 & 2500 PORUS also has 3 helicopters 2 Limos 1 Bus 1 yacht (was sold in the 1970s) The plane is called AIR FORCE 1 when POTUS steps on the plane
This isn't accurate. The current primary Presidential state planes are two heavily modified VC-25s. They travel together in almost all cases so one can act as a backup/decoy. There are at least 18 helicopters (in DC depending on threat level up to six will fly in a shuffling formation for movement, then you have to allow for the groupings that have traveled ahead of the President to where they are expected to arrive soon). There are 36 of the current models of the Beast and the USSS has kept the previous group of 36 or so of the Obama-era Beasts to use as backups. Whenever a Presidential vehicle is retired it's always brought to the Secret Service training center and shot at with all manner of weapons to learn about weaknesses and obliterate as much of the classified materials as possible. The actual count of the specialized vehicles otherwise used in motorcades (like the front jamming car, the motorcade ratio relay, the secure satellite communications car, the NBC vehicle, etc) given that at least one of each is needed and sets of vehicles can often be in as many as three stops ahead of whereever the president is at a given time that would give a minimum of four, probably one additional unit that's in maintenance and likely at least one duplicate set kept very near the Vice President. There are two buses. Like the primary aircraft they travel together. There is no yacht. There was at one time a yacht. There is no train car. There was at one time a train car. There are 5-6 Doomsday planes. One is intended to be used a mobile command post and each can run a 30 mile antenna out of their rear end and they're meant to fly specific routes over the United States to create a communications network to allow for effective command and control of the country. In especially threatening trips there are several armored suburbans that have pop-up machine gun turrets that are kept (mostly) minimized unless needed. If you look long enough you'll see some with an interesting man-hole sized ring embedded in the roof that kind of (or used to kind of) give them away.
I was once driving to hear former VP Al Gore speak, in San Francisco. When I got close to the hotel, there was a traffic jam, police with their lights on. I was thinking “Oh no! something happened!” I’m going to be late, of all days, etc Then I realized, oh yeah, Al Gore is the speaker. The cars were just for his security.
The name of the plane is not Air Force One it’s only called that when the president is on the plane actually any plane the president gets on is called Air Force One and the helicopter is marine one I’m also pretty sure there are two of them
When you go on your Alaska Cruise from Seattle, go to the Museum of Flight . The original Air Force One is there along with A-12 blackbird along with Blackbird Cockpit you can sit in and manipulate the controls for photo op. Surprisingly the even have a British Plane , one of the Concords is here .
There are Two planes that are used as Air Force 1 for the President and Two Air Force 2's that are used by the Vice President. The Helicopter the President uses is Marine 1.
The fixed-wing aircraft assets serving the President belong to the 89th Airlift Wing, USAF, at Joint Base Andrews outside of Washington. the 89th has several units, including the Presidential Airlift Group which maintains and flies the two VC-25As normally used as Air Force One, and the 1st Airlift Squadron, which operates the secondary-level transports we see in this video. The rotary-wing (helicopter) aircraft assets used by the President belong to HMX-1 Squadron of the US Marine Corps stationed at Marine Base Quantico, hence "Marine One" carrying the President.
Fun fact: I forget which US President it is but I remember seeing on video of the a President visiting a foriegn country and the secret service using a coffin or a rug of some sort to shield the president from potential sniper fire 😂.
Yes, there is a presidential jet that is identical to AF1. Someone else also mentioned that whichever the President is currently ONBOARD is designated as Air Force One. This video seems a tad on the OLD and outdated side. Same techniques & duplicates apply to Marine One (the helo the president uses). *Same goes for The Beast (presidential Limos).
The picture you show in beginning is actually air force 2 for the VP. The president flies in air force one and yes there are two of them. Much bigger 747s
This is so much needed. Being a 1 be an easy job. Yes they get the perks but would you want to live with it, Bullseye on the front or back of your head. Just saying

I like how the cars in the graphics all have like 30 inch rims. I guess the prez rides in style.
😂😂😂 and they ridin' spinners too (they don't stop)
The beginning plane is AF 2 Vice President’s plane. And yes, there are 2 planes for AF 1 as a spare or backup.
There are two planes so that maintenance can be done. But the official call sign is applied only when the president is onboard. In fact any plane with the president becomes Air Force One when they are onboard.
Yes. Whatever plane the President is on is Air Force One.

There are several versions of the plane. An extra plane flies everywhere he goes so he has a backup in case the main plane has an issue.
There is a plane called the Doomsday Plane. You wouldn't believe that plane. Incredible!
I used to watch it take off sometimes when I worked at STRATCOM at Offutt Air Force Base.
I found out about the Doosday plane about 2 years ago!
They had a whole segment on it. Did you not watch?
@@indowneastmaine yeah I made the comment before the video got to it. You couldn't figure that out?😆
@@Montweezy I watch it after when I first saw it on another video!
There are 2 Air Force One jets. When going into hostile territory such as a military base in Iraq, 1 is a dummy.

@nochannel1q2321 I know their are multiple of everything POTUS has.
@@staceybert1975 Oh. I was confused because what you wrote meant exactly the opposite.
