I recently bought a 4g absolutely in luv with it. Great value for money. I purchased purely for its driving dynamics and for its engine. Exactly mentioned in the video the tyre size might need an upgrade and nvh is high when reach certain speeds. But both can be upgraded. Tyre can be change to 185 from 175 and dampening sheets may be added on the doors to reduce the nvh levels. I am definitely going to do that after 5k or 10K kms. Superb review. In terms of engineering nothing can match City in mid segment. It's a, proven vehicle for more than two decades in India and still going strong. As he rightly said 1.5 ltr ivTec petrol is one of the best n classy engine in the market today. Tht too in tht budget you can't get a 4 cylinder 1.5 ltr smooth engine with lots of space to accomodate ppl n luggage. Generation after generation Honda City is sheding its sportyness and becoming a passenger car, so the 4th gen is better sportier than 5th. 4th gen pros/cons 1)Stiff suspenssion (excellent cornering stability but need to slow in irregular/rough roads, especially wee feel roughness from rear torsion beam). BTW stiff avoids hitting speed breakers and can carry more loads and is more reliable(dampers & spring) 2)Excellent steering communication. soft at slow turns (1st gear speed) & weighs at high speeds (beyond 130+kmph not stiff enough) 3)SOHC- Less complex, less weight. Anyway V tec acts on intake valves. More than adequate. If you opt for later tuning/remapping then go for 5th gen DOHC 4)Well proven chassis dynamics. This car is excellent to drive in mountainous curvy roads due to lightweight chassis. We don't feel much steering hardness during turns. 5)Aerodynamic design. Less air drag, more fuel efficiency, more power to weight/drag ratio 6)PFI is more reliable than GDI (5th gen) due to less carbon depositing on intake valves & cylinders. No possibility of oil dilution/ blow by resulting more engine life. Especially petrol dilution is serious than diesel due to petrol's less lubricating property. 7) Lack of 6th gear would be a con especially on highways, but 4th is lighter than 5th & more aerodynamic, so its negligible 8) Honda manual gears are clutch and super easy shifting (short travel & short shifting). Clutch is extremely light that u literally can go in slowest speed possible in each gear without stalling, especially on bad roads. 9)15" tires are better comfortable than 16"due to more rubber than steel. What so ever, for its signature vtec engine (reliable AWA performance) one can forget its every other cons, if there !! Adding a turbo to a Honda vtec would be an over kill !! My fav childhood dream car 💚 for sedan
We Brought Honda city 2014 idtec v 1,25,000 Kms Driven....even though it's 1,25,000 kms driven it's well maintained in Honda service Centre....we Moved from Mahindra Logan 2008 one Comfort level was one step above and main thing was the Engine and it's Mileage...... that's the main reason we went for city diesel 💯.....for around 6L it's our best choice i think
Brought City 5th Gen... Pure Gem💥
Super ji I like honda city 4th generation now I am using swift 2nd generation bro
I own a 4G city 2016 model ivtec V manual. In 2016, I had options in diesels too like the vento/rapid/etios/sunny and the Verna too. I test drived each car for two weeks, rented a self drive car and lived with them for two weeks. To me a 15 minute test drive won't suffice to decide anything. Finally I got my honda city 4g after 10 months of serious research every week. Trust me, today's slavias or virtus won't even come close to handling and the engine refinement of my 4G city. Kudos to all my fellow VTEC boys ! Love you Honda❤️
This user reflected my opinion and choice.
I booked a 4g for ivtech engine, but I have shifted to 5g for interior design, 4 Air bags, traction control, build quality, hill hold assist, and placing of the start button by paying additionally Rs. 2 L .Perfect engine. Definitely you can't get these features in an SUV at this price.
Right side start button .

Excellent and clear review this video very thankful Moto wagon and your friend thank
Was able to relate very much almost I had gone through a similar likes and dislike and finally gone with Honda city 4th generation. Except venue, and skoda I had all the cars discussed was in my list.
I bought my city 4g two months back for 11.4 lakhs. It's a bang for the buck. Absolutely in love with this car. City 4g is a pure enthusiast choice .. it's a tuner friendly car ... This car is basically an underdog ..
Enna mileage bro varuthu
@@RameshRamesh-ik3mc 11 in city 15 in highway.. no matter how fast you drive
@@bb_074 enaku cityla 10 highwayla 15 kedachathu atha ketan bro
@@RameshRamesh-ik3mc that 11 kmpl in city driving comes only if you don't apply breaks frequently and take your leg off from the throttle 😛 at times it gives me 8 too 😬 , yen vandi oru bayangaramana kudikaran... Petrol prices burns my pocket ☹️, but the kick you get when you press the throttle hard is priceless for this beauty😍
11.4 L for SVMT or VMT?
Excellent video. ❤️ Thanks to Asir bro and Jayaram bro.
Service cost பத்தி ஏதும் சொல்லாமல் விட்டு விட்டீர்கள்
Fantastic experience delivered by jeyaram bro thank you asir sir
4th Gen offers 15inch wheel and 5th gen offers 16inch wheel. Since he spoke about 120km speed cornering. However 5th gen is better than 4th gen..
But i accept what he said in 19th minute about engineering facts
Yes, 5G is superior than 4G

Bro, can you suggest a second hand sedan car under 8L. I thought of getting 4th gen Honda city but friends suggesting me to get Škoda rapid. I am too confused between these two. Please guide me.
Duster petrol also same like city 4g engine.. handling and suspension is owesome..
@Motowagon Asir - Please also do user review of Citroen C3 who has used it for more than an year. I understand it's not possible now but could be one of your future videos. It will be very helpful to understand the practicality of the product. Cheers to the team!
C3 Indian customized design. After a year MotoWagan could make this happen
Yes, will do
Try Diesel city. With in 70 km speed with Ac. You all should get 31.5 km / liter . I have city Diesel l had 31.5 km per litre. With Ac.
Same time i reached the top speed 190 km/ h. With out any stress. Even it gives 19 km per litre.
Keep oil service every 10 thousand km. And maintain ur engine well. Sure all city Diesel engine will give 31.5 km . Try this and Explicit ur Mileage. With Ac.
For handling which one is best 4g or 5g
