- STUART, FLORIDA - On February 22, 2022, at approximately 12:52 p.m., the Stuart Police Department received a 911 call from a witness stating that she just saw a vehicle hit a bunch of people in the parking lot of Fresh Market at 2300 SE Ocean Blvd, and flee the scene westbound on SE Monterey Rd.
The witness followed the suspect vehicle as it traveled at a high rate of speed westbound on SE Monterey Rd, and provided Stuart Police dispatch with a description of the vehicle. When the vehicle, a black Kia Forte, made a right turn onto SE Palm Beach Rd from SE Monterey Rd, it was intercepted by Stuart Sergeant John Reddick.
Sgt. Reddick activated his emergency lights and siren and attempted to stop the vehicle as it approached the intersection of SE 10th St and SE Palm Beach Rd. The vehicle came to an abrupt stop in the middle of SE 10th St. As Sgt. Reddick exited his vehicle, the suspect vehicle continued northbound on SE Palm Beach Rd, then made a left turn onto westbound SE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd before making a left into the parking lot of the Stuart Police Department.
The suspect vehicle pulled into a parking space and the driver exited the vehicle. Sgt. Reddick pulled in behind the suspect vehicle and took the driver into custody. The driver was later identified as a Beatrice Bijoux.
As soon as Bijoux was taken into custody, she made a spontaneous statement: "The voices in my head told me to kill someone." Bijoux was temporarily secured inside of Sgt. Reddick's patrol vehicle before being transported to a Stuart Police Department interview room.
Four victims were hit by the vehicle being driven by Bijoux. One, a 69 year old female was transported with life threatening injuries to Lawnwood Trauma Center by Martin County Air Rescue. Two others left on their own and refused further treatment, while the last was transported to Cleveland Clinic North by family members with a possible leg injury.
During her subsequent custodial interview, Bijoux was adamant that she intentionally wanted to kill other people, that she intentionally wanted to kill the people she struck with the car, and that she wanted to kill herself.
Bijoux went onto state that she was prescribed medication for bipolar disorder and for schizophrenia, and that she was under a doctor's care. She stated she had not talked to her doctor since December 2021, and that she had been diagnosed with her mental health disorders in 2019.
Bijoux asked for her phone to delete all her social media. (That request was denied.)
Bijoux insisted on being charged with attempted murder in lieu of aggravated battery because her act was intentional.

I worked in Psych nearly 30 years I’ve taken care of doctors, lawyers, teachers etc. mental illness does not discriminate. So sad
The cops needed to ask if she has done drugs. Drugs can make people go crazy & mess up their brains. How she just wake up crazy & hearing voices one day out of nowhere? They needed to ask what was her drug history.
@@themostbeautifulwomaninthe9160 That is an important question to ask as well. It is very possible to have a psychotic break without the assistance of drugs. The educational pressures can be a contributing factor.
Thank you! I was a nurse in a Psych Ward for 5 years. It was draining at times.
@@pamwoods9367 Ms Woods you’re so right working psych Is not for everybody it tore me down mentally and physically
@@themostbeautifulwomaninthe9160 I am Bipolar type 1. And trust me, it does come out of nowhere. One day you're living the dream and the next day you're running through people's backyards hiding in a pile of leaves from people that are coming to kill you. Even though nobody is coming for you, it feels real in that moment. Tough shit to deal with.
This is terrifying. To be living life and working hard and then to have your mind turn against you.
Yes I can't even imagine this happening to a family member like how would you even help someone through something like this very unfortunate
No doubt, but her bf did say she was off of her medications bcus she wanted to have kids.
I’d say that’s why her mind turned against her.

A+ Comment! Agreed!
Completely a riot vibe than Beatrice is boyfriend! Yikes!!!
Yes She so lovely..
Yea, supporting someone that kills random people is true love. Do you sympathize with the columbine shooters as well? she deserves life in jail. There's no helping this woman. I bet your view would change if she ran one of your family members over for no reason!
Her poor sister. She’s so lucky that her sister is so smart and has her back the way she does. I hope this woman gets the help and care she needs… and thank God the victims will be okay.
I hope so too,she needs help.

@@arireed9226 oh yes there is. When’s the last time you saw someone commit a violent crime then act this way? By the way, being deemed unfit due to mentall illness isn’t a way out of a crime. You go to a hospital instead of a jail and it’s miserable.

I feel so bad for Beatrice. I can’t imagine waking up at 30 and hearing voices. Knowing it’s schizophrenia and not wanting to accept it Being so educated beautiful loved and loving and then doing this. It’s so heartbreaking
I agree! This whole case is heartbreaking 💔 😢
Beatrice seems like a smart and sweet person who is now being attacked by her own brain. I'm also sad for the victims, but can't help to feel bad for Beatrice as well. Her sister seems like a great person as well and you can tell she thinks really highly of her sister and a great support system. I hope everyone can heal from this whole situation. 🙏 I can't imagine how everyone must be feeling and the fact Beatrice mentioned wanting to kill her niece. She didn't want her sister to find out and now the whole world knows.
@Ronald Belger um wut
@Ronald Belger incorrect but I don't expect you to know me because you don't so 🤷♀️
@Ronald Belger Who cares what men think? She has been in relationships. I feel like testimonies such as hers either male or female needs to be taken in account. People can't just plead under the grounds of insanity W/O evidence.
She was diagnosed waaaaay before 30. She didn't just wake up and heard voices. She should have been monitored with her past mental breakdowns. I understand everyone has rights. Someone who is proven to be unstable should be monitored. It's called preventive care. This whole thing is just sad. With medication and supervision she could have had a better chance. Individuals who have psychosis episodes and hear voices should not be making legal decisions or dispensing medications for others. I have a son with Autism and no matter how well he is doing he will always be supported and supervised. There is just no way around it.
Watching the interview with the boyfriend explains a hell of a lot more. He without a doubt has issues and contributed to this episode.
They prob met in a mental health hospital… unfortunately people get together a lot out of those places
I agree. The boyfriend appears to have mental issues as well.
Yup Fr
I've just watched him & I agree. Even watching him had me feeling certain ways. He is so intense & manic and going by what is is saying & reading between the lines that was some intense situation. Only 8wks too
Of course you will say that cause he's a man. I've realised you women are very sexists.
Tassa if by chance you ever see these comments I just wanted to say that you are solid as a rock. Your sister is so lucky to have you in her corner. You seem to be a great person.
So true ! She is the anchor of the family.
Yes she is. I hope she is taking care of herself because it’s easy to get so caught up taking care of others that you neglect yourself. Wishing her family all the healing they need.
Right cuz my siblings would of disowned me 😅
This is so sad:( I’m a patent attorney and I worked very hard, it took me 3 times to pass the BAR (though the patent bar is the hardest exam) it is absolutely incredible to see how hard someone works and then pass the bar the first time. It is so hard, it’s so much work, so much drive and to see she got all that way and then her mind essentially turned on her. That’s so sad:(
I know how hard Bar can be to pass, My friend had to move to another state after trying couple times with no success.
I too went to law school . I wonder if she literally strained her brain. They cut the sister off when she was about to explain countless sleepless nights and waking at 5 am can lead to psychosis .
Hey you’re smarter than me! Not everyone can get through law school so kudos to you and kudos that you never gave up. That probably helps you being a great atty. This is very sad. Glad she didn’t kill anyone and glad she did not make it through nursing school because that would have been dangerous. I hope she gets well.
And the fact that she did it at 21 is insane! She must have graduated high school early. But it's well documented that high intelligence and mental illness go hand in hand. She was diagnosed with schizophrenia following law school which falls right into the time frame that most people who have schizophrenia begin having episodes.
How sad and unfair to work so hard for a law degree, and then your mind betrays you.

God bless this sister for loving her sister and being there for her in her darkest moments. My older brother suffers from the same mental illness that Beatrice has. I truly wonder if the amount of "plan-B" caused hormone level changes and additional mood disturbances ON TOP of her other diagnosed mental health issues. I am not a Doctor, just curious if that could have played a small role in this horrific mental break.
Good observation
This comment 💯! After giving birth and having complications the meds they gave made me so out of myself. Once I stopped, I was good.
Hormones (especially not natural) plus whatever she may have caused this. Great observation.
*Although I watched the entire (**1:45:00**-ish) initial interview, I don't recall her saying there was a lot of "Plan-B" use. Can you remember how often that was in use?*

This entire situation is so sad. Once again, I’m glad everyone involved in the actual accident is going to be ok and none of the injuries are life threatening. But, Mental Illness is REAL and needs to be taken very seriously. I feel for her family and all involved and just pray for healing for everyone (Beatrice included) and that everyone get the help that is needed.
I love the way her sister explained every issue to the detectives. She was up to the point and very articulate! She knows what the system needs to know!
That's just sad. I'm glad she didn't kill anyone, and I hope she gets the help she obviously needs.
If this event doesn’t show that we have a big hole in our mental health system, then nothing will. I’m a psych nurse and have seen this over and over. Patients being discharged due to not enough psych beds available to being discharged home with family who don’t know how to handle them. Most patients will not want to take their meds. Most patients are not stabilized before being discharged. With severe cases of mental illness, these people need professional, 24 hour care. I’m devastated for Beatrice and her family, as well as all the victims and their families. Such a tragedy. Mental health needs much more funding and facilities to keep the patient and public safe. Too many times they are sent to boarding homes, nursing homes and assisted livings.
Good Family - Good People. Very unfortunate situation for literally everyone involved.
This is so sad. She obviously comes from a good family and is a good person. Mental illness is so scary and can stike anyones family! Prayers for the victims ,and this young lady and their families.
Her poor sister, she's been to hell and back trying to look after her sister and is now the one fighting to get her sister the help she needs. Her sister's heart is so pure in that she's not only concerned about the welfare of her sister but also the condition of the victims. These investigators are doing an excellent job in the way they are conveying information to the family. Do have to say though, in the short clip with the boyfriend, he seems a little on the odd side and possibly may have an issue as well.
the girl herself is equally as sweet but is being attached by the devil in her soul and mind. Very sad
She is a wonderful person in general who you can tell loves endlessly. God bless her.
I agree about the boyfriend
@@leemcmullan the devil -_- more like mental illness. Not an imaginary cartoon demon. Grow up.

I have so much empathy for these girls. My brother is a schizophrenic. He got diagnosed at 19 and he's 48 now. He moved away to Kansas and that's when he had his first episode. It's been truly heartbreaking. The only way I can describe it is that you feel like they have died in a sense. They are here physically, but not mentally. I know how they feel. I really do. One day, out loved ones who are afflicted with mental illness will be free. Only when God decides. 💗
Sending prayers to you and your family.
It is a cruel disease.
It feels exactly how you describe like they died. My son has it. I’ve been grieving someone who is alive for 2Y.
Her sister is intelligent and caring. I think it is her child that Beatrice was talking about.
Out of all the cases I’ve seen. This is the one that gets to me. This woman loves her sister and did everything to protect her. You aren’t supposed to quit taking bipolar meds cold turkey. You’re supposed to wing yourself off under doctors orders. I hope she gets a ton of help and can get on her meds.
She’s very blessed to have such a supportive and loving family. Really hope she gets the help she needs and can live a healthy and happy life one day.
Such a sweet family. I hope Beatrice gets well. Much love from Sweden
These investigators are doing an amazing and did an amazing job. No judgement and they know it’s a mental illness. Props to those investigators
Amen. Always default to treating a person like a person, it is far more likely to smooth out the interaction.
Props to the investigators? Are you kidding me? It's clearly apparent from the start that the woman is terribly mentally ill as you've agreed to, so why is she being left to rot in a cell to deteriorate more? Are they just going to wait until she commits suicide? This is terribly disturbing, and disturbing that you could even begin to commend these cops. They obviously don't care that she's not herself; they're just looking to close the case and move on. Very normal behavior for Miami-Dade PD.
Yeah, keep in mind they upped her charges from aggravated assault to attempted homicide ON THE WORD OF A MENTALLY ILL PERSON. And they did it just to calm her down. These cops aren't looking out for anyone but themselves. Convictions = promotions.

I am a bit concerned that she's not going to be sent to a mental health hospital though. Does this mean that she has to "act out" again to be sent for the proper treatment? I would think that she is a danger to herself as well as the people around her.
I would think that would be up to a judge to decide based upon a psychological evaluation. Who knows how long that will take.
I am so glad the woman got diagnosed and had family to explain what is going on. Hopefully that helps her get time at the state memtal hospital over just prison.
She told the cop when they arrested her that she doesn’t take her meds on the weekends she sees her boyfriend, she stated she didn’t want him to know.Go watch the video when she was first pulled over and arrested.

Very compassionate of the sister to be concerned about the victims. She knows her sisters well. I do hope the police share with the family Beatrice’s thoughts of harming her niece.
I feel so sorry for Beatrice. She is so amazing. And her family is even more amazing for supporting her in a very difficult time for everyone. Thank God she has such a wonderful sister and family. I hope she gets well very soon. And I hope the people involved at the market all recover as well. ♥️ Stay strong Beatrice!
This breaks my heart. My friend and I went to school together from the age of 9, but he disappeared when we were 21. A few years later my mum was reading the local newspaper and saw a warning that my friend had escaped a psychiatric facility. That is when I found out that he had recently been diagnosed with bipolar and schizophrenia. He's keeps it under control now, but it has completely destroyed his life.

I hope they don't treat her like a criminal but someone with mental illness
You feel sorry for that cuckoo? What about her freaking victims? A sister can only do so much. I'm glad they're putting her in jail. The asylum is much worse than regular jail so I hope that "attorney" is jailed for a long time.

My adopted son is 33 and has schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and he’s a big man. I’ve seen him act just like this woman. Cool and collected one second and the next he’s hearing voices to harm himself and others. It’s a very scary condition.
Beatrice should've been placed in a community facility with 24 hours of supervision. She should've never been in the house with the ability to roam around unmedicated. Her sister cannot watch her 24 hours a day. Of course, she can lie that she was taking her medications.
ALERT: I maybe mistaken, but I think this is the sister that has the 4 year old daughter, Beatrice niece, that Beatrice had thoughts or voices told her to kill the day she hit the other victims at the market. I think Beatrice even mentioned it wasn’t the first time the voices told her to kill her niece. The detectives should have definitely WARNED the sister and the family of this.
I was about to write but i scrolled to see if anyone mentioned it. You're right i think she might be the One. Sad and Terrifying Story

Yes I thought that too but I saw you mentioned that so I went with my other thoughts. I think that the boyfriend is a factor that she stopped taking her meds. He freaked me out..
@@katdoc929 maybe he convinced her psych meds interfere with all that Plan B they needed
It's her.
5 minutes in and this lady is the most ‘sane’, well spoken, put together of the 3. This is hard to watch, so were the other 2, but in a different way. This lady is awesome! She is handling the situation in a very polite, understanding, caring way; and not in a demanding way. What an example of how to be a human under such a stressful circumstance. Both she and the brother being there speaks volumes as to their character, IMO. What I don’t get now, even more, is the boyfriend. They certainly don’t know him very well, IMO. HE CLEARLY triggered this ‘episode’ in my opinion. He needs to go, for her and her families well being.
I literally thought the same about the boyfriend imo he has some sort of illnesses as well and is not healthy for her at all he was saying god spoke to him & used him as a prophet etc & that is what I think triggered her bc she probably thought her voices were normal or good. He needs to leave her alone for her best interest. Like I said just my opinion but Sad all the way around
I don't think she should be in jail, she needs to be monitored. She is highly intelligent woman that is all over the place, stop taking her meds, hearing voices= bipolar/ schzophrenic.
Stop blaming the boyfriend, this is stupid on your part. Did you not look at this whole video? She has been ill for a longtime.
I agree that he may have trigger this episode. While Beatrice was trying to impress him by not taking her medication, it caused her great harm and the lives of the unsuspecting victims!
The boyfriend is a problem. He was stalking her thru GPS I believe. He was tracking her phone wasnt that what he said? er nuts he always knew where she was ...... I second the "trigger" thought above.
Not one person cried. Freaking bizarre.
This seems ridiculous, the woman is definitely very ill, why would she go to jail? She needs immediate evaluation and treatment. It’s one thing to charge her with the crimes but she should be treated for obvious reasons. ‘So illogical.
Again it's just crazy that even during a serious mental health crisis getting her help is not a priority. This is an incredible problem in this country
This is heart breaking.
Seems they are a decent, smart, caring, supportive family. She is obviously quite intelligent, it's a shame her mental health issues hold her back so much or she could be quite successful.

@@arireed9226 the only thing pathetic here is you.
Very sad. Sister seems really cool & understanding but just devastating for all involved.
If you are helping to supervise someone with mental illness, monitoring their medications is vital. As someone who struggled for years to stay on my medication, you should never assume that the patient is capable of taking their medication as prescribed. Events like this don't happen because you miss your morning pill. It's likely that she stopped taking her medication because she was involved in a new relationship. Her previous boyfriend left when he discovered that she suffered from mental illness. She did mention something about not wanting to take her medication in front of her new partner. I'm also surprised that the family took no interest in getting to know the person that their struggling sister was dating. If they had, they would have discovered that he also suffers from mental illness and might not be the best influence on their sister.
It seemed like he lived some ways a way. Certainly not locally. And they hadn’t been dating that long, only a few months and then she was leaving town and driving to his place for the weekend. So I suspect they didn’t have much of an opportunity to get to know him. Maybe he had lived closer but apparently their relationship was mostly on the phone except for several weekend trips when family wasn’t invited. I hear what you are saying, I just don’t know like how far along in this short relationship did she even tell her family about him. Then when was the opportunity to get to know him. Maybe if the relationship had been longer a time would have presented itself.
Insurance wasn't covering her meds so she was having to make trade-offs
These are adults. How much influence do you want the family have 🙄
I feel so bad for the family who has to deal with family who have mental illness. I apologize for my prior comment about Beatrice and hope she get the help she needs and TAKE HER MEDS EVERYDAY. I do believe now listening to her sister that she needs help and not jail. Bless this family.

I love the advocacy for her mental health from the sister
It can happen to anyone. I had a psychotic episode at 19 and I seen flames outside my window, heard my dad's voice loud in the sky, thought the sun was a camera, seen my life events on tv, thought the tv shows were all making fun of me. Yet I could talk to my family/people but the delusions got in the way. I was still myself but something seemed off because although I didn't have voices speaking to me, I kept fighting the thoughts in my head. Like being convinced my family were imposters and that everyone was out to get me. Understandably, the delusions and behavior will seem abnormal to others but for the sufferer, it's reality. We need to recognize it exists and stop treating people with mental illness like they are just evil. This will only make people afraid to seek help. Sometimes you can't reveal the thoughts until you take medicine for a while...you start to separate them from normal thinking. Then you realize just how broken your brain was. She should of been in a mental hospital where they make sure you take your meds until you are more stable on your own. I hope she and those that were injured, recover.

Seems like a decent family. I hope the injured recovered and Beatrice got the help she needs
I really hope she gets the help she needs.
Take care of your mental health, people!
😆 😆 😆
@@arireed9226 Rude.
The sister and brother are so patient and understanding. Great siblings.
this is a great caring sister here. She is not crazy.
Man, I want Beatrice to get well. Great sister, people love her.
FINALLY a shred of empathy...compared to the psycho boyfriend, her sister seems like a decent person...she even asked about the victims...I feel so sorry for her...
So glad Beatrice was judged accordingly, will get the help she clearly needs & hopefully move on with her life. Just tragic.
between god talking to the boyfriend and voices talking to her I wonder who they think is responsible for their actions as adults?
I do feel bad for the sister and hope she gets the help she needs
That's one thing I noticed about him. He went completely left.
@@Jammer80s yeah ... it's an odd world sometimes!!
Imagine these two raising kids together 😱
lol I was just thinking that same thought. I thought we prevented a whole generation of psychos from developing!
Don’t judge mental illness its not a joke at all. Worry about your parenting
@@salv2922 Whatever dude. I am laughing my ass off watching two psychos. You worry about you and get off your soapbox and your holier than thou bullshit. Who gave you authority to judge me?
Right
@@valuedhumanoid6574 they making a whole generations on there own...
I really hope Beatrice gets the help she needs.
Good family for asking about the victims that says a lot about how they were raised I hope Beatrice gets the help she needs
Such a shame. A beautiful Black Queen victimized by mental health issues. Hope she gets the help she needs to be able to return to some semblance of normalcy in her life and career. Love you Sis!!!!!
I didn’t realize she was a queen, what’s the time stamp where they talked about that? Where is she the queen of? Could be wrong but sounds like she lives in the states, the USA doesn’t have a queen.
Lmao we wuz kangz
The fact that yall expect Beatrice to be coherent in the midst of a psychotic break is the real psychosis to me Lmaooo
Too much for her sister to carry on her own. I hope she's getting therapy.
This case is heartbreaking 💔
Bless this family for being there for there sister. I pray she gets the help she needs. And that all the victims recover fully!!
These cops don’t have a clue. Yes, I understand she made statements about wanting to hurt/kill ppl, but she also stated she’s hearing voices which needs stat medical attention.
From the 1st interview I saw of Beatrice, she did say a lot of horrific things happened to her when she was young but she didn't elaborate. Which makes me believe something did happened to her but the siblings will never say it publically because it would embarrass the family.
Furthermore that boyfriend of hers is weird as hell.
Man, even her sister is very likable. It appears they were brought up very well! As i mentioned in other video, Beatrice seemed very likable, polite, and agreeable .
Blessings to this family. It’s very difficult for family members of someone having a mental lapse.
