Bengaluru Chennai AC Double Decker Express Now has Non AC Chair Car Coaches

22625 / 22626 Chennai - Bengaluru - Chennai AC Double Decker Express will have a change in rake composition with addition of Non AC Chair Coaches to the train. Along with this move, the train will have a rake share with 22666 / 22665 Coimbatore - Bengaluru - Coimbatore Uday Express with Primary Maintenance at Basin Bridge Chennai. The move comes into effect from 15th Feb 2024.

I really hope some day Indian railways decide on designing a sleeper double decker rake somewhat similar to the sunrise express of Japan, cause it will be like a compact seml luxury train and should be run on scenic routes, I miss the non AC double decker the flying ranee, it looks cleaner with lhb coaches but lost its iconic title

I want some new trains to connect from Mysuru, Hassan, Chikkamagalur, Shivamogga, Karwar, Dharwad and Hubballi, Belagavi, Tumakuru and other places in Karnataka, Goa and Mumbai to Tambaram via Bengaluru, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam, Perambur and Chennai Ezhumbur. And also towards Chengalpattu via Arakkonam, Kanchipuram and Thirumalpur from Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra.

Either the 7th or 8th double decker coach from the loco in the SBC-MAS Double decker has a flat tyre. You can hear the hammering sound of the track. The affected wheel has to be sent to workshop for reprofiling. Noise level is very bad

What is the use of this rake sharing? They will still need the same number of rakes right? Are they going to change the departure time at Bangalore (like Pallavan and vaigai express so that the departing train leaves before its pair reaches Chennai l)?

So then both CBE Uday & MAS Double decker get 8x A/C DD + 5x non A/C normal coaches ... But still no use for Uday Express know anna ?? Most of the A/C DD coaches will be empty. I really wish if Indian Railways introduce non A/C Double decker LHB coaches. 🤔🤔

If we put more such suggestions railways will simply abolish DD AC coaches also and convert them to LHB variant AC plus Non AC coaches as WR did for Flying Ranee of Surat Mumbai. This is game of gambling by Railways to fix some other problem related to maintenance or extension of Uday to Palakkad town soon. Thanks

Non AC DD is difficult to maintain. Already experimented on Brindavan long back. They will be never produced again

Why did they degrade this service like this? The AC chair cars should be restored immediately, This is a very prestigious AC service, let them restart that Chennai passenger if they want to introduce 2nd seating

I feel its a good move considering how the Brindavan gets crowded. AC seats are easily available on weekdays in this train.
