The man in Black never ceases to amaze me he is so gifted just when you think you've heard all his bag of tricks he pulls out more Long Live Ritchie Blackmore
Pretty standard fare for Blackmore - the solo (as usual) totally improvised - a couple of bum notes - all great stuff. I can't think of another guitarist who takes such risks when playing live. This is what makes him one of a kind. And I can't think of any other guitar player who is able to take simple chord structures and play such captivating solos... his ability there is incredible.
I've been listening to Blackmore for decades...he's absolutely brilliant when he's "in the zone", which he is here! he can blow chunks when his mood is off...which is a true testament to a player who plays totally "from the heart" with emotion, which is what a true musician does. Not everyone can do it this well.
What an incredible master Ritchie is. Saw him in Deep Purple several times but this is a giant leap up for him in for me. You can see him doing this song in 1995 at Dusseldorf that is at least as good as this. You will love it!
One day in the year of the fox Came a time remembered well When the strong young man of the rising sun Heard the tolling of the great black bell One day in the year of the fox When the bell began to ring Meant the time had come For one to go To the temple of the king There in the middle of the circle he stands Searching, seeking With just one touch of his trembling hand The answer will be found Daylight waits while the old man sings Heaven help me And then like the rush of a thousand wings It shines upon the one And the day had just begun One day in the year of the fox Came a time remembered well When the strong young man of the rising sun Heard the tolling of the great black bell One day in the year of the fox When the bell began to sing It meant the time had come For one to go To the temple of the king There in the middle of the people He stands Seeing, feeling With just a wave of a strong right hand He's gone To the temple of the king Far from the circle at the edge of the world He's hoping, wondering Thinking back from the stories he's heard Of what he's going to see There in middle of the circle it lies Heaven help me Then all could see by the shine in his eyes The answer had been found Back with the people in the circle He stands Giving, feeling With just one touch of a strong right hand They know Of the temple and the king
Thank for it! I,m a Blackmore fan. Beautifully composed solo! B. not only plays, but always plays SOMETHING. Anyway I prefer D. White to Dio. To me DW was B's second best singer - after Gillan. Greetings from Hungary:)
Mine too. Blackmore is unique - not mentioning LuigiMontanaro2. He is fantastic. Don,t miss his Tribute to Blackmore: 6 minutes solo and so fine that I thought Ritchie is playing. But no. Greetings from Hungary!:)
About knofler, john forgety, ritchie black more david gilmour eric clapton and some others they are oustanding when it comes to instrumental playing there is no question about that. I am a knofler fan to even though like you said he can hardly sing but his guitar makes up for it no doubt.
Richie always enlisted in his band great musicians, remember to Cozy Powell ... But you're right DW is a great vocalist. This last album is my favorite Rainbow ... A big hug from Mexico ...
He apparently has not heard Ronnie Dio but on his commanding singing like long live ROCK N ROLL...Dougie W would tell you Dio is the best there is and was...Hes a drummer..
Thank You!:) TBH I,m for instrumental music (1. of all a Blackmore fan), so don't care too much with singers (for me even Knopfler is OK though he hardly is a singer:), but there are exceptions of course. I,ll check Elf,s. Bestest: George:)
Knopfler is a fine choice. I like his special, soft playing very much too. And writes fine lyrics, not "oh baby, baby" kinda shit. He can create magic by 3-4 notes. Though I,m basically a hard rock drummer, I made a work titled "Dire Streets" on banjo and was ispired by - of course - Dire Straits, namely Knopfler. If You don,t mind, I send You:)
Let me judge a singer and have own opinion, moreover personal taste. Anyway I,m - partly - a musician, so have working ears too (two). The power and technic is far not everything. I like that if there is natural softness in a voce, best example is Gillan. White has something a bit similar. Always agressive singing is not too colourful. But no problem: you take Dio, I keep White.
I really dont know what you are talkin about I understand neither head or tail becoz u say say u prefer D. White to Dio wat do u mean by that. Dio could get on the stage at the age of 60 and make ur D. white sound like a bar singer. Dio, Robert plant, Bruce and some others they r the most technical singers of all times.Look at the power Dio brings to the orginal studio version. I dont have more than this to say becoz i feel bad wen ppl like u who dnt knw anything keep comparing a great singer
So many guitar heroes in this world but still Ritchie Blackmore my number 1. It just hurt the deepest
There is no other guitarist like Ritchie. He is truly one of kind.
and a great cpmposer
I think he is the best guiter artist in the world❤❤ love from india 🇮🇳
How the hell does he to never stop amazing me! Blackmore, Blackmore, Blackmoooore!
The man in Black never ceases to amaze me he is so gifted just when you think you've heard all his bag of tricks he pulls out more Long Live Ritchie Blackmore
I couldn't put it better myself. Always something you haven't heard!
3:36 what a vibrato. Strait from his hearth, amazing

I've been listening to Blackmore for decades...he's absolutely brilliant when he's "in the zone", which he is here! he can blow chunks when his mood is off...which is a true testament to a player who plays totally "from the heart" with emotion, which is what a true musician does. Woo, well said! 👐
I've been listening to Blackmore for decades also...never heard him "blow chunks".
My conclusion too.

Ein brillantes, episches Solo Ritchie.
Perfect solo!! Ritchie takes you where no one else can!
I've owned this single since it came out; This is by far the best solo I've ever heard him do for this song. Just amazing; gives me chills!
there shouldn't be a dislike button on this video
Best version ever 👍👍👍
No Dio but wow
Master Ritchie 🎉❤
One day in the year of the fox
Came a time remembered well
When the strong young man of the rising sun
Heard the tolling of the great black bell
One day in the year of the fox
When the bell began to ring
Meant the time had come
For one to go
To the temple of the king
There in the middle of the circle he stands
Searching, seeking
With just one touch of his trembling hand
The answer will be found
Daylight waits while the old man sings
Heaven help me
And then like the rush of a thousand wings
It shines upon the one
And the day had just begun
One day in the year of the fox
Came a time remembered well
When the strong young man of the rising sun
Heard the tolling of the great black bell
One day in the year of the fox
When the bell began to sing
It meant the time had come
For one to go
To the temple of the king
There in the middle of the people
He stands
Seeing, feeling
With just a wave of a strong right hand
He's gone
To the temple of the king
Far from the circle at the edge of the world
He's hoping, wondering
Thinking back from the stories he's heard
Of what he's going to see
There in middle of the circle it lies
Heaven help me
Then all could see by the shine in his eyes
The answer had been found
Back with the people in the circle
He stands
Giving, feeling
With just one touch of a strong right hand
They know
Of the temple and the king
Quel bonheur ! Merci Richie.

Blackmore and Dio ,2 legends
Nobody can make a Strat sing like the Master, Ritchie Blackmore
Stockholm (Circus)? This one was definitively the highlight that night.
Thank for it! I,m a Blackmore fan. Beautifully composed solo! B. not only plays, but always plays SOMETHING.
Anyway I prefer D. White to Dio. To me DW was B's second best singer - after Gillan.
Greetings from Hungary:)
the best music
Ritchie's tone is right on here. I believe he was using Engle amps at this point. Whatever it is, it is really working for him (:
The only thing wrong with this solo is that it ends!
Tremenda version !!!! Saludes desde Managua Nicaragua
La migliore versione di sempre!

RIP Dio! Died on May 16, 2010.

Salu2!
Richie always enlisted in his band great musicians, remember to Cozy Powell ... But you're right DW is a great vocalist. This last album is my favorite Rainbow ...
A big hug from Mexico ...
Doogie White is the singer
@bcdalessio De nada amigo... Espero que te gustara mucho.
Phew again!
Dio duymasın :) Rainbow'un Blackmore'lu zamanlarından, Dio vokalli bir "Temple of the King" dinleyemedik canlı kayıttan... :(
He apparently has not heard Ronnie Dio but on his commanding singing like long live ROCK N ROLL...Dougie W would tell you Dio is the best there is and was...Hes a drummer..

Ahh, Knopfloor's a joke.
I respect and appreciate your opinion but i would like to suggest u listen to dio s elf songs. just a suggestion.
Knopfler is a fine choice. I like his special, soft playing very much too. And writes fine lyrics, not "oh baby, baby" kinda shit. He can create magic by 3-4 notes.
