From what I have heard this song came to be from John Rich working with some songwriters when a girl mentioned someone hitting on her at a bar and his line was “save a horse, ride a cowboy”. John Rich told her that made a great song title and it went from there.

Use to work out to this song. They were outside Country Music but they were accepted. They used the term MuzicMafia and supported Gretchen Wilson. They can play traditional tunes which are really good as Michael Turner mentioned the 8th of November is a tribute to a buddy of Big Kenny who is a Vietnam Veteran. Great moving song.

I know every song they did, I really like HOLY WATER, a song they wrote for Big Kenny's sister who was suffering from an abusive husband. They had some really deep songs, this was their first shock song that charted for literally weeks and weeks.

He didn't struggle after they decided to take a break to persue personal ventures but big did. Big is the blonde one who is in the back seat with the model who acted like a doll.
