Most players think that they need dramatically less ER than they need because they don't understand how rotation extensions reduce their DPS and just spend 5-10 extra seconds batterying their 130% Kazuha or their 100% Xiao.
Never understood why people say Xiao has energy problems, I've never had to spend time batterying my 120% er xiao If you use his 2 skills before his burst, you start off with half your energy. By the time you're done, your skill cooldown is done, and you almost have it up fully. Albedo's constant energy regen then fully fills it up. Add that to the fact that most will run him with jean, who regens even more energy for him, and the fact you can run Zhongli with Fav lance, you should never have energy problems with him
@@ChosenOne2524 Your 120% is enough coz you also have jean and fav zhongli. Tbh yeah xiao don't really have energy problem if you properly funnel and bring decent battery, heck even you can theoretically run 100% ER with sucrose only. Although OP point is right about less ER --> longer rotation --> dps loss, using xiao as an example is not really correct because xiao doesn't really have ER problem if you can properly funnel and manage his energy.
tbh I've found in practice that rotations are mainly the stuff of theorycraft because enemies just die or get displaced well before you can complete a rotation, or there's like one enemy left and the floor's almost over so you'd rather save your energy for the next floor, or the enemies are just super spread out and you have to waste a lot of time just closing the gap. the only time a full rotation really seems to come into play is when you're up against one super tanky nigh-immobile enemy like PMA (and even that is sus due to the adds stage that occurs halfway through). I've been 36 starring abyss with ease for well over a year now but my 'rotations' always wind up being chaotic clusterfucks past the first few seconds of them. and if you didn't start the challenge with full energy already you just have to improv anyway.
In that constellation, it doesn't tell the duration. Can i know how long does the debuff stays on enemy and how to tell the difference if one gotten the debuff? Thanks in advance.
What some commenter failed to realize (and tenten somewhat failed to emphasized in this video) is favonius is not OP because it gives room for other stat for the wielder by lowering his/her ER Requirement. If that's the case, amenoma might be better or at least on par choice as 12 energy per rotation is not a joke even without ER substat and it's craftable. Favonius is OP because it also gives room to other stat for your ENTIRE TEAM with super easy requirement (fishing crit in multiple hits is not as hard as most of you think, which I understand as statistic and probability is something that super hard to grasp instinctively) Lowering ER Requirement for your teams mean not only increasing damage on your kazuha; which sometimes contribute like 25%ish at max but also your main and sub damage dealer. The one that you appreciate more if they can still maintaining rotation time with more offensive stat in place of ER. The same reason why some people opted to run the exile set on their support even though the wearer doesn't get the energy. Buffing your support matter less than buffing your main carry. Other UA-camr/TC (I won't promote him in other channel) already did the calculation on how favonius significantly lower your teams ER req and the result is quite significant.
Indeed hence Tenten's statement at the start of the video, "for most of them" Ideally you want fav sword + 3 EM But if you don't atm and you got way more ER and your team still suffices without needing a Fav support then by all means Iron Sting, until then it's relevant till you get the almost or ideal stat that Iron Sting becomes obsolete
I run Iron sting Kazuha with Raiden and he always has his burst off cooldown. So yeah his weapon choice greatly depends on the team you’re running and how many enemies you’re fighting. Though in general scenarios, Fav will be better if you have decent crit rate from subs.
Exactly, my Kazuha has 5% crit rate and 195% er with 3x EM and Iron Sting, why the hell would I run Fav? I dont need the ER and it would never proc with 5%, so its really annoying that everyone keeps pushing Fav sword like its universally better when it just depends on your build
This video will age well given what is known to what will happen to the strongbox, but if you consider that EM pieces are a rare drop regardless if 4 or 5*. Iron sting is a comfort pic esp considering the need of an approximate of crit on an already hard piece to farm. This also considers resin farming on the VV domain can be a waste when a player can use available VV pieces with the Iron Sting and then farm garbage pieces from high value domains.
@@quangamng oh Im just saying that the info in this vid would become much more valuable coming into 3.0 but could be unreasonably frustrating to do at the current patch. Pardon, if I have said something unclear
Running the Iron Sting, also makes you need to sacrifice even more substats for Er, which otherwise could've been used for more offensive substats. So theoretically the Fav sword is better than Iron Sting even in personal dmg. Then add the Er requirement reduction, which is certainly better than the 8% dmg bonus you lose, on top of that, with an r5 Fav sword you can proc the passive twice a rotation, as the cd is only 6 secs.
I'm that guy that happened to get a boatload of ER and literally zero crit on my VV pieces, so I went with EM/EM/EM and Iron Sting, and I do fine. The main team I use him in (Ayaka freeze with Rosaria) doesn't need the white particles, and I'm using my only Fav sword elsewhere, so it just makes sense for me. HOWEVER, the main point that should be driven home is that the extra swirl damage you get from the EM on Iron Sting does NOT make up for missing the occasional burst in a dps test scenario. Energy > EM.
It even worse when people think iron sting refinement will boost kazuha damage tremendously as they think every number including the swirl is affected by iron sting passive.
@@Riolu559 Oh that's a depressing thought. A lot of my casual friends really don't understand how reactions work or are calculated, so I'm sure there are plenty of people wasting their precious billets on things like Iron Sting refines. Ouch.
Iron Sting is better if you actually don't have awful artifacts. Don't let the math guys fool you, they get things wrong all the time. They still won't accept how good Yoimiya is
Yeah im ar 56 but i dont have a fav sword yet lmao so i use iron sting, though its fine i have his c1 so i have the sac sword effect so ez burst uptime
@@janakkathiria1322 thank you. However I can't make my Ayato burst off cooldown. But, if I'm using favonius sword then my ER will be too many. And I also I don't get many EM substat.
My first thought when reading this dumb title was "Unless you have enough ER substats". And lo and behold, TenTen at 11:27 saying "Unless I explicitly farm for ER substats" My man, people who uses Iron Sting on Kazuha probably does exactly that. Are you high when making this video?
if you dont ult often for example in childe international because it can mess up reactions for not that much more damage and you care much more about more em to buff your qiangling and childe
My Kazuha would have over 200% ER if I used Fav sword, which just seems like overkill for a 60 energy burst cost. But I suppose the white particles is decent for the team as well tho.
Generally it would a overkill, but if you're using Kazuha for a team like Melt Ganyu that doesn't give many energy particles, 200%ER is actually a good thing
I have a bit of a problem when it comes to this. I need more fav swords goddamnit! My Xingqiu wants one, my Kazuha, my Jean wants one, oof what to do...
And here I was about to make an iron sting and get it to R5 before I pull Kazuha glad you posted this, saved me a lot of resources, time and regrets. Lol.
Less coping on the refinement and more on the clickbait. This video is just straight up implying Iron Sting is worse when they're pretty equal in terms of value for Kazuha.
Listening to this while playing Kazuha + Jean, (plenty ER... double swirl...) Still good info, but calling Iron Sting a terrible choice is too simplistic and reactionary. Especially when it's probably his best ftp guaranteed option (I still don't have a FAV sword)
Take a look at his em pieces, they are so bad, a lot of flat stats and just a single er roll... The circlet is a 4 star one with no er substat too. Fav is actually better for what he had at that time, but yeah calling iron sting is terrible and said fav is his best weapon in this video title is such a hard cope, i just cant 💀
This is a hot take....you don't run fav sword on Kazuha when paired with Raiden, iron sting is still a better f2p option in that team. Otherwise for most teams, you can run fav or sac sword, doesn't really matter that much.
Not hot take, it's actually true. He did mention UNLESS you run raiden team or have godlike ER from your full EM substats then fav is much better weapon overall.
@@chuckguy120 Then he has no business saying iron sting suck, its a giant mistake, blah blah. Thumbnail and start of the video is a stupid take, makes me not want to watch the video further.
@@stellar1016 Maybe it's for clickbait idk. But i do agree that iron sting is borderline suck but for different reason, it's because dark iron sword exist and the EM difference is so insignificant so if i run him with raiden, i prefer to use dark iron sword. But hey that's just me
barely halfway through the vid, and almost asleep in my chair. ya'll can keep your spreadsheets, number crunching and dps arguments. But I'll take your word for it. Sting didn't feel like that great of a weapon on him anyways, even without extra testing. Especially when I like to give everyone atleast a few seconds in the spotlight each to do a bit of stuff.
Day 1 of pulling him, I said Sac Sword no cap…now all this “this weapon is best NOT THE IRON STING” business is going around. Let me watch this lol Edit: My vote is Sac Sword but I do agree. The Iron Sting dmg difference is negligible when looking at the big picture. Good for showcases and topping off damage, not great for actually playing the characters in his entirety.
I guess the problem with Sac is that it's a bit more Refine dependent than Fav, and there's teams that don't want to Kazuha spend too much time in field, but I guess it's the best option if you want your Fav in another character and principally if you didn't get any Crit in your artifacts.
@@ShotterGames That to me was the only real difference and yeah, it is a r5 Sac Sword. Everything you said is facts. If your team calls for a specfic tight rotation, the Fav I think would be better. If your freestyling half the time, the Sac Sword is amazing, especially at c0 Kaz.
Wrong. It's very simple: Awful artifacts because you didn't farm them appropriately? Fav Sword Good artifacts because you did properly invest into your Kazuha? Iron Sting/Freedom Sworn
@@ShotterGames Same. Was using sac sword on kaz day 1 because I enjoy the crazy cc and damage Kazuhas skill offers and want it up as much as possible. Funny how TC's recently "discovered" this when a lot of Kazuha mains were running er weapons from the start lol
@@kaikawasumi "didn't farm them appropriately" ?????? So not getting 100% ER from substats on EM (5.5% chance) VV artifacts is a skill issue now? Most of us don't want to perma-farm VV so we can run Iron Sting Kazuha for a miniscule damage increase. Not even accounting for the fact that that much investment in Kazuha means a Fav Kazuha could run artifacts with high ATK% subs and a lot of EM on flower and feather Disclaimer: only talking about non-Raiden teams. With Raiden, Iron Sting is a good option
I get that it’s better for ER but it also depends on builds and team because my kazuha gets his burst really fast so for me personally iron sting still is better than fav. (I’m still working on perfecting his artifacts but RNG 🤷♀️)
TenTen: EM is so good on Kazuha Also TenTen: Go for the ER weapon! You don't want more EM! Why is this so hard for you guys to understand. With Fav Sword how do you get more EM on Kazuha? You don't. It's not actually possible. Freedom Sworn isn't an EM weapon for no reason. With an EM weapon you can always get more ER substats. The vast majority of Genshin teams with a Kazuha will never need the white particles from Fav Sword even if you actually have the crit to consistently get them. It's so weird seeing a Genshin TC actually tell people having bad artifacts and not optimizing a character they think is amazing is a good idea. It's a mathematical fact Iron Sting is better on most teams when you don't have bad artifacts. Stop digging in & just admit you're wrong, good lord. This is actually getting toxic.
You are kinda right with freedom sworn vs fav but your reasoning is just bad on top the fact that video compares iron sting and fav. Freedom sworn is better than fav cause how good its passive is when compared to fav (kazuha specifically). But the passive of iron sting is even more horrible and just a waste. Your argument of just get more er subs on EM main stats is just so ignorant cause not only EM mains stats are incredibly rare , you are suggesting ppl to go through another layer of rng to get er subs .So why not just not go through the pain and use fav with triple em , more resin efficient and as for crit rate u need around 25%-35% to proc it which you can focus on your flower and feather as they are easier to get with good substats And as for the mathematics, I think spending '1000 resin is better than spending 10k on your freakin SUPPORT' And If you don't like how 1010 phrases his arguments I would say go watch zajef77 , he will explain it much better
That's just flat out wrong. The vast majority of Genshin teams with Kazuha HEAVILY appreciate the white particles. Melt Ganyu, International, VV Hu Tao, Ayaka Freeze, these are some of the most popular teams he's used in and in every one of them at least one character needs ER investment, meaning fav will allow you to reapportion those 4-5 dropped ER rolls into offensive subs. Favonius is actually the best way to optimize teams for maximum damage because it allows you to drop ER reqs for all characters and invest into offensive subs instead like crit. 4-5 crit rolls allow you to gain potentially 10% DPS, which is way more than the 2.5-3% DPS increase that 165 EM would give on Kazuha A4. It's a mathematical fact Favonius Sword is better on most teams when you don't have bad artifacts lmao. TenTen actually treated Iron Sting too kindly in this video by saying if you have enough ER you can use it, in fact even if you get 200 ER from subs alone it still ends up worse than Fav because Fav's passive alone contribute to a bigger DPS increase to almost every team. The only team that Iron Sting is better than Fav in is Raiden. And that's it.
Fav Sword is only good if you have bad ER substats from running triple EM and can't meet the ER threshold to burst off cd, If you have the ER you need from sub stats then there's no reason to run Fav, IS would pull ahead. Basically it's a copium weapon due to not being able to get good sub stats on the ever elusive EM main stat artifacts.
Quite the contrary, if you put fav on kazuha, you can focus your substats on EM artifacts into crit rate, damage, atk to further boost kazuha's damage, so fav has higher ceiling. Not to mention that fav makes it so you need less energy on your other characters. But if you REALLY have no choice, and ER substats artifacts are your only option then yes IS is better option.
Even when iron sting is better it's not a big difference, Fav batteries not just Kazuha but also whoever else you're using on your team Unless you have C6 taser driver Kazuha there's 0 reason to ever use Iron sting over Favonius unless you just don't have Fav R5
he did explain that kazuha burst in some instances can take up to 200% ER to get off cooldown, and let's be honest, the EM drop rate on VV is already horrible, now you have to get 200% ER from susbstat alone, which is basically much more VV farming.
fav sword reduces the ER requirement of the rest of the party, allowing you to invest more in offensive substats and overall netting you higher team dmg
The only reason I run Iron Sting on Kazuha: I don't have enough swords. I only have one R1 Favonious Sword which is tied to Jean. I don't even have a Sacrificial Sword so Xingqiu is using the Festering Desire.
Its not a mistake. Ofc whatever stats that is lacking you have to compensate. If you have 160+ er on your vv set alone definitely you can use iron sting. Otherwise you can use the fav
Me with a 160%+ ER on Kazuha... Oh, ok... so I should use Favonius instead.... (Before anyone tries to point out team ER, zero issues there as I have everyone's burst up before I need to even swap to the next character.)
Iron sting is a good weapon only if u have enough E.R on your artifacts's substats i am rocking 167% E.R just from subtsats and main E.M on Sands,Goblet and Circlet rounding up to 867em
nah im too lazy to build fav. maybe when abyss actually becomes challenging enough that I don't just 36* it in onr attempt, then I'll consider swapping out of iron sting. Right now, there's no justification for optimizing any of my characters anymore, which is sad. Almost 3 years now, and Genshin still has no proper endgamr
Yea no thanks. My 165% ER and 922 EM Kazuha has 0 energy issues with iron sting and provides a stronger buff than fav would. My team doesn’t care for the extra particles either I’ve never felt that I needed them. Fav is better if and only if your luck with er subs is terrible or you’re running a team that doesn’t have a raiden and multiple high burst costs characters. Otherwise iron sting because just like you can argue you need er subs to run iron sting you need crit subs to make fav sword work and in my experience er is more common and easier to roll. That goes for Kazuha in both of my accounts who easily got enough er in his subs. Fav sword is fine but it is not flat out better than iron sting that’s just overselling.
I pulled for freedom sworn on the albedo/eula banner. I don't mind the primos it cost me, but it is difficult to build the ER for him (currently running 160%, so I'm not touching that damn VV domain)
My dilemma right now is whether to give the Favonious Sword to Xingqiu or Kazuha, since I only have one. Xingqiu has been crucial in my team comps and wouldn't wanna strip everything off him just to build Kazuha. That's why i'm considering Iron Sting as a temporary replacement
I'd just like to say Iron sting isn't a shit weapon on him for the obvious reason that it gives Em, so it's a nice stat stick. However, the amount of energy Fav will give him and the rest of the team can be worth the em loss
fav also reduces the ER requirement of the other party members, which is something that people often overlook because they think off field particles does not give you energy or something, idk
@@Enforcer901 i could farm 3 200cv 4pc sets before i get those stats lmao, aint no way im investing that much time when i have a perfectly good fav sword lying around
The most important thing that You missed is that Fav has higher artifact stats than IronS. It was explained so clearly by I think Sevy. Adding Your explanation on how easy it is to proc Crit makes it much better.
This is actually very easy to understand. As kazuha barely give a shit about base attack, you should prioritize higher sub value on said weapon. Iron sting 157 EM is less than a fully upgraded arti main stats so you're missing a couple rolls there in turn for better base attack which is a waste for him.
Higher artefact stat value is not important if u run fav, because u wouldnt need any more ER with fav alone. With that u just make all substats for sands, goblet and hat useless. Like tenten said if u have good artefacts run IronS(or any other EM Weapon) and if u have bad ones u run fav. Its not hard to have 20-25 Er on sands, goblet and hat with time with an artefact domain existing since 1.0 . Especially if u consider that max substat ER roll of 39%.
It still depends though - my team works fine with Iron Sting on Kazuha because I have enough ER on all my units for my rotation already (and I don't want to farm more efficient artifacts for my other team members that have less ER to min-max their use case with Kazuha). For my use case and team builds, Iron Sting works the best for me because I get max EM without any downsides. And yes, this is in floor 12 Abyss runs. That being said, Favonius Sword or Sacrificial Sword are better items for more generalized teams.
I discovered the Fav Sword info in Zajef's video about Kazuha Myths. When I swapped my Iron Sting for R5 Favonious Sword, my rotations and burst uptime problems disappeared.
Get good artifacts for Kazuha then? Why would you use artifacts on him with little to no ER? This is like saying your Ayaka is better with Amenoma than Mistsplitter because you have no ER on her. Absurd.
The only drawback for Favonius sword is that it is only avialable through gacha system, so refinement is difficult otherwise it is fantastic weapon for Kazuha. The new Kazuha weapon could have had 41 base attack at lev.1 with EM sub stat and the passive have increased ER like Oathsworn Eye or like Inazuma craftable sword, then it could have been a good alternative to Favoinus.
@@nabielabit7569 In the case of albedo it's the other way around. They give away free 4 star weapon that is literally garbage for other any character but sooooo good and best in slot for albedo. They're selling albedo banner with that weapon. Of course i'm just talking out of my ass coz i'm not mihoyo but it's make sense right?
@@chuckguy120 u are right about mhy trying to sell the weapon, but even if they release a low base atk em sword, it would still be only for kazuha and garbage for anyone else.
Depends on team comp it's not that clear cut. First of all, do you have other fav users? Do you have energy recharge stats? Bringing more than one or two fav users is overkill especially if you also roll good er substats. Heck, if you run him with Raiden then it becomes more of an issue. I hate this black and white this is good this is bad videos. Doesn't really paint the entire picture.
Yeah it's super not as clear cut as people are trying to make it right now. Thundering fury kazuha also gets way more particles, so he doesn't need fav either.
agree. iron sting is still a very good choice. yeah maybe fav is better but it doesnt mean that iron sting sucks. iron sting gives you bigger buff and also bigger swirl damage. not to mention that it is free to play
Iron sting kazuha only really becomes somewhat relevant in raiden teams, and even then fav provides more value, since raiden has a truckload of dmg%, which means an additional 165 em > 6.6% dmg bonus is trivial compared to the teamwide energy gain of fav. Raiden's battery is strong, but it does not negate all ER needs. Running fav kazuha means you can basically go buck wild in building offensive substats on the other characters, leading to overall higher dps. As an example, in a raiden-yelan-xingqiu-kazuha team, with 2 fav procs, you can run lower than 130 er on both yelan and xingqiu, which means yelan can comfortably run aqua and xingqiu can comfortably run jade cutter/mistsplitter while still being able to burst every rotation. Another benefit is that when you mess up the rotation, or the enemy just wont allow you to rotate perfectly, fav procs can salvage the situation.
My Kazuha has 905 EM AND 183 ER with Iron Sting and 4p VV, and I haven't had any problems yet with rotations in any teams I tried him. His crit rate is 8%, and it's not worth to switch to favonius as long as he has good rotations.
This. Don't see a lot of people talk about it (Mostly cause it's actually rare to have enough ER with just sub stats alone on triple EM) but I think it should be mentioned that if you DO have the ER to burst off cooldown then you can run Iron Sting. Although technically you also lose the Favonius white particle energy sharing.
Congrats, you win in the luck department. I have been farming for triple EM artifacts for an entire year and have not found a single EM artifact with decent substats ever. Last week alone i wasted 10 fragile resin and all i ever see is %defence/hp/atk artifacts and ONE em sands with dogshit substats. Not everyone is lucky dude and I dont blame them. I don't see myself ever upgrading my iron sting but to use it, I'll have no choice but to pray for c1 Kazuha, otherwise I am running Favonius in Spiral Abyss.
But you gotta think how much you need to actually min max that high em and er through subs alone. Reason why fav is better its because er from fav is higher than er in eon and em on eon is higher than IS. The idea of building a support should not be to the point you are min maxing their stats
I'm in the exact same situation. Tenten's advice will apply to a big chunk of players who don't even think of building ER on Kazuha, but to say iron sting is garbage and ignore the very clear exceptions (high ER from subs, using him in hyper raiden) is to overcorrect too much
@@Crono992 A lot of people have started realizing, but i still see that majority of the community doesn't understand just how good these weapons are. Even on the subreddit named "genshin impact *TIPS*" majority of the people still think iron sting is better. I'm not even gonna talk about other social media where more casuals dwell. Fav weapons need to get the love they deserve.
If you have godly ER (say 160-180) from substat than you can go with Iron Sting. My Kazuha has 146% and he still needs to use E first after a rotation to get his burst full energy. So yes, I need to consider using Favonius Sword and swap my artifact with better crit and EM substat.
I got him C1, and I have him at 150 ER. He gets his burst back relatively quickly because of the cooldown reset and cooldown reduction. So Iron Sting for more dmg :)
I have 183 ER just from substats. When I do my freeze rotation correctly I have zero energy issues. Artifact luck can be unfair the other way around too. With Fav I get 245 ER and that got to be enough for any comp, not just melt Ganyu
It amazes me the number of people that disregards ER just because they don't see big numbers on the screen. ER smoothes a lot the rotations and it simoligirs
I mean if you have 160% ER from your Artifacts then Iron Sting makes a lot more sense than Fav Sword. This Video applies for the masses that dont have good artifacts not for EndGame Players. Iron Sting>>>Favonius Sword if you have enough ER from Artifacts/ Favonius>>>Iron Sting if you have bad Artifact Quality.
All these people in the comments defending their use of Iron Sting like "Well I have 200% ER even with Iron Sting so Fav is useless". Did you guys watch the video? The man stated Kazuha's energy needs. Obviously if you have enough ER with substats you can use Iron sting but there is also the extra energy for the WHOLE team when running Fav. Meaning less ER stats needed on your hyper carries or sub-dps characters. That equates to extra damage. If you can drop 20 ER in substats for an extra 15% atk or 14% crit damage on someone like Ayaka that is very much worth it.
Exactly, this is what people are missing. Fav is so good because it drops ER reqs on not only Kazuha, but also EVERY other party member. It's like a makeshift Venti A4 or Raiden energy refund, and it frees up 4-5 ER rolls to be invested into offensive subs. If you can trigger it twice it's even more ER rolls freed. The passive alone already makes it better than Iron Sting from a pure DPS perspective in any team, even not considering Kazuha's own ER requirements. It's insane how good Fav is, it gives essentially 100 ER to the wielder and 20-30 ER to every other character in the party.
You don't determine the BiS weapon with mediocre artifacts, that's the problem with this video. With enough ER% from substats, Iron Sting is better, it's that simple. It's like saying Jade Cutter is BiS on Ayaka if you have 0% CR% on substats. Yeah, because your artifacts are trash. With normal artifacts, Mistsplitter is BiS for Ayaka and there's no argument
@@Gennosuke1983 It's not though. My argument in the previous comment is that the passive alone already makes Favonius better than Iron Sting DPS-wise in most Kazuha teams, even with adequate ER on Kazuha. And, the other thing is that TC is about efficiency and realism and not just peak potential. TC do not assume that people will get lucky enough to get +100% ER from substats alone on a 4pc VV EM set. Just like how TC do not assume people can get a R5 Homa in a single ten pull (honestly, this is probably more likely than getting 200 ER on full EM VV build lmao). Additionally, realize that every resin spent trying to get VV EM pieces with high ER subs is resin that isn't used to level characters or farming other artifacts. You know 100 ER from artifact subs is 4 ER rolls per piece right? That is actually 5x harder to farm than a 200 CV high investment ADC build because you need EM pieces which are already the rarest mainstat and can only roll in to a single substat instead the many offensive subs ADC characters need. Iron Sting is just a stupid weapon that 99% of Kazuhas should not be running and the people defending using it simply haven't done the math.
That one UA-camr who made that video about how Fav and Sac are better than Iron Sting started an actual wave in Genshin UA-cam. Now everyone, I mean everyone, is making videos about it and acting like it was their idea. They were recommending Iron Sting literally a day before that one video.
Thank you for bringing this vital information to the community! I really appreciate the charts and calculations you did. I've seen people R5 their Iron Sting and spend so many resources on it while having Favonious Sword underdeveloped and benched. People forget Kazuha's main role revolves around his burst and rotations, not his personal anemo damage.
No his personal swirl damage is also massive. But the difference in damage and buffing capability between fav and iron string is insignificant and not using his burst (which usually the case for iron sting) is a major damage lost so that's why it's better to have high enough ER for burst even if you have to trade some EM for it.
well everyone is talking about fav sword on kazuha now even tho he's out for more than a year now...and everyone used to have iron sting on him. Suddenly everyone's reccomending fav sword lmao
TenTen literally keeps repeating his point that the swirl dmg is big & that is why he suggest Fav Sword. You missed the entire reason his logic is so awful.
@@iScream2367 Zajef has been calling people onto fav train for months now, too bad he doesn't have such a big reach into the community like kektone or icringetolose
For specific characters who do burst DMG. Not characters like ganyu or hutao skill or if your other characters can't get er. For raiden, yelan fav sword is overkill and you are better off with iron sting for extra 10% bonus DMG just from the sword.
why are you getting dislikes for being right LOL There are obviously exceptions at times where Iron Sting is better, but 99% of the time it's a nerf to Kazuha and his team compared to Fav
Haven’t watched yet. But I think a big reason people have misconceptions about how much ER they “need” on their units is bc they’re biased because of the overworld. In the overworld, where you’re perma using just your skill to kill mobs & getting way more HP particles, you obviously have way lower ER requirements. So people say things like “but MY burst is usually up” and ignore ER reqs bc they generally don’t feel them bc theyre biased by how their characters “feel” in overworld. Pointing out this cognitive bias is important IMO to correcting the low energy Andys
Or even in abyss depending on the floor, white particles from monsters can significally reduce ER requirements. Unless ur running units w ult costs greater than 80 without a battery, ER is hardly an issue
In over world you actually get your burst less consistently (which is a large part of why in 1.0 people thought Bennett wasn't good, and why Diluc was over-estimated). But in over world you don't actually need to use his burst. You just cast his skill and it would have killed most trash mobs. And that's why people thought they don't need that much ER. But even in abyss, people generally need less ER than theoretically calculated because the calculations don't take into account enemy particles. Which imo is the real reason why people often think "well my burst is up", and they would be correct. Which also means iron sting is actually better on kazuha than tenten make it out to be. That said, fav sword is just overall more versatile and the passive is a lot more useful. So fav sword should still be the go-to choice unless you know exactly what you are doing.
Most players also don't understand that spending 5-20 seconds to battery their characters is a MASSIVE DPS loss. So they think if they can get their burst back pretty soon after their rotation ends, they have "enough" ER
unpopular opinion: If it works, it works Use the weapon best fit with the artifacts you have then move from there, and then if you can do the sht you usually do fairly easily then you good
Agreed, I have a black sword on her and it does way better than both favonious and iron sting. I have tried all three for 2days.. I have an above average VV set on him and he is lvl 80 with lvl 7 talents. I know it is mostly because of my play style.. so check urs. Also my team is kazuha as dps, klee sub dps + Pyro support, jean/Barbara healer support, xiangling or fischl...
I see what you mean here but then again the purpose of my comments is to show that if you lvl 90 r5 your iron sting and it works, dont feel bad about doing it and again if it works it works
After listening to this video it makes more sense why some of my folks were telling me that Fav Sword was a better option than Iron Sting, but since my main purpose for Kazuha was to slap him w/ Raiden & Yelan, then Iron Sting works out better for me. I want all the damage. xD
The genshin community will be able to move foward once they realize that favonius weapons are the best set of weapons in the game and overcome their fear of build their characters with ER
True. I run almost my team in the abyss with favonius weapons and the rotation is so smooth. No big PP damage but consistent damage. Favonius weapons plus the Emblem set is a killer duo.
@@quangamng We already know everything above but he wants to push for more people to "overcome their fear of building ER" which is simply not true. Nobody is afraid of doing this it's just that if you can have the bare minimum ER and maximizie dmg/atk stats or EM it's better to do that than ER
I'd say that Favonius Sword is a good weapon to run on Kazuha but Iron sting with its EM sub is already more valuable than F.S for me personally because I run him on High ER team and My Burst has 100% up time on my whole team so there is just no point for me to run F.S. And Iron Sting is free while F.S is Gatcha. Also You will be running Tripple EM so you can Hunt ER but not EM. Therefore Iron Sting is better to me if you are running EM Kazuha.
1000 EM isn't worth it if you have a low ER. Also, I found out the difference of 800 EM to the 1000 EM on the Elemental DMG is small so it isn't worth it to have 1000 EM if you are just gonna use him as a DMG buffer IMO.
Not sure if 8% more elemental damage is considered small. If we look at elemental reaction damage multiplier alone then yes, the diminishing return is significant.
@@craiver00 It's not that big, especially since most teams where you run Kazuha generally already have pretty high elemental damage bonus stat. For example, Childe and Xiangling already have 90 and 120% dmg bonus respectively without Kaz buff, and so 6.6% extra elemental damage bonus only result in about a 2.5-3% DPS increase.
The thumbnail saying raising Iron Sting is a mistake really kinda tilted me, what people need to understand is that although it is not Best in Slot for better Slash consistency people also need to consider their account overall. Not only is Iron Sting F2P friendly (which allows you to use Favonius on another character that could benefit from it if you do have one) it also has a higher potential ceiling if you get TONS of ER sub stats. Leveling Iron Sting up will never be a waste of materials or a quote to quote “mistake” as it can also very well be used on other units like Jean. It only has less consistency on a basic level of investment.
>shills for a GACHA weapon that's only "decent" above R3 coz R1 is copium. >a weapon that force you to pray to RNJesus that your EM gear has good Crit% otherwise you lose EM for a Crit cap Tenten's genius build is for payers, not f2p friendly.
Also want to mention that a high refine sac sword is also very viable if you don't have a fav sword. Trade-off is slightly more field time and needing er over crit substats.
13:44 TenTen you should have stoped there even if it's an explantion video we know the field time of kazuha is dps loss and most won't wait for those tics to count and even after this the probability is decently high but giving kazuha extra tics wasn't nessasary
I still use him with Iron Sting since i use him with Raiden Shogun 😅 I wanted to use him in International but Sucrose is better in that team. Also i have c1 Kazuha which kind of solves his energy problems for me.
In no case is Sucrose better than Kazuha in International Lmao. Kazuha provides better CC and Better uptime on Swirl as well as more damage. Sucrose is better in a few teams and thats when you want the EM she provides that if you have C2 Kazuha he just does it better.
@@sallyhope2137 Even C6 Succrose does not beat Kazuha it just comes cloose or even. As for c2 Kazuha he strait up just beats Sucrose so yeah. IN NO CASE is Sucrose better than Kazuha. But keep dreaming.
Sac, Fav and Iron are all situational, substat and team dependent. Running Fav with bad crit is a grief. Running Fav with Raiden is a grief unless you somehow rng'd into 0 er subs. Running fav if you hit ER requirements is a grief.
Exactly. That’s why I just use different weapons depending on the team or situation. If I’m running Raiden hypercarry, I’ll put Iron sting since Raiden will battery. If I need more ER for just Kazuha(such as in melt Ganyu), I’ll use Skyward since I’ll also get more personal damage than with Favonius. If I’m using a team that’s very energy dependent and sometimes lacking such as international, then I’ll use Favonius for that extra utility. This is all with my Kazuha having 50/145 crit, 900 EM and 120 ER( with Iron sting and ofc a crit damage circlet with lots of EM rolls bc I can’t get an EM VV circlet 😭)
it really is great to have favonious sword on kazuha but it just happens that i got lucky on vv with triple EM (922 EM) and 170% ER that's why im still using iron sting on him.
I hope this extremely common misconception about iron sting disappears in near future, since more people started realising that fav Kazuha is much better

Most players think that they need dramatically less ER than they need because they don't understand how rotation extensions reduce their DPS and just spend 5-10 extra seconds batterying their 130% Kazuha or their 100% Xiao.
Never understood why people say Xiao has energy problems, I've never had to spend time batterying my 120% er xiao
If you use his 2 skills before his burst, you start off with half your energy.

Favonius is OP because it also gives room to other stat for your ENTIRE TEAM with super easy requirement (fishing crit in multiple hits is not as hard as most of you think, which I understand as statistic and probability is something that super hard to grasp instinctively)
Lowering ER Requirement for your teams mean not only increasing damage on your kazuha; which sometimes contribute like 25%ish at max but also your main and sub damage dealer.
In my opinion, FAV is for someone who gets crit and huge amount of EM substat on VV set, while iron sting for who gets a bunch of ER
Indeed hence Tenten's statement at the start of the video, "for most of them"
Ideally you want fav sword + 3 EM
But if you don't atm and you got way more ER and your team still suffices without needing a Fav support then by all means Iron Sting, until then it's relevant till you get the almost or ideal stat that Iron Sting becomes obsolete

This also considers resin farming on the VV domain can be a waste when a player can use available VV pieces with the Iron Sting and then farm garbage pieces from high value domains.
wait ,so what is your point again?
@@quangamng oh Im just saying that the info in this vid would become much more valuable coming into 3.0 but could be unreasonably frustrating to do at the current patch.
Pardon, if I have said something unclear
Basically Iron sting + ER sands = 17 sub stats and fav sword + EM sands = 20 sub stats
and fav passive
Running the Iron Sting, also makes you need to sacrifice even more substats for Er, which otherwise could've been used for more offensive substats. So theoretically the Fav sword is better than Iron Sting even in personal dmg. Then add the Er requirement reduction, which is certainly better than the 8% dmg bonus you lose, on top of that, with an r5 Fav sword you can proc the passive twice a rotation, as the cd is only 6 secs.
Are you accounting for the white particles lowering Kazuha's ER requirements? If so, I'm surprised Fav isn't higher
@@finebook281 nope

Day 1 of pulling him, I said Sac Sword no cap…now all this “this weapon is best NOT THE IRON STING” business is going around. Let me watch this lol
Edit: My vote is Sac Sword but I do agree.
Wrong. It's very simple:
Awful artifacts because you didn't farm them appropriately? Fav Sword
Good artifacts because you did properly invest into your Kazuha?
Not even accounting for the fact that that much investment in Kazuha means a Fav Kazuha could run artifacts with high ATK% subs and a lot of EM on flower and feather
Disclaimer: only talking about non-Raiden teams. With Raiden, Iron Sting is a good option
I get that it’s better for ER but it also depends on builds and team because my kazuha gets his burst really fast so for me personally iron sting still is better than fav. (I’m still working on perfecting his artifacts but RNG 🤷♀️)
tbh I don't care, I can 36star abyss with dull blade kazuha. But it's nice to know there's different in weapon choices.
TenTen: EM is so good on Kazuha
Also TenTen: Go for the ER weapon!
Your argument of just get more er subs on EM main stats is just so ignorant cause not only EM mains stats are incredibly rare , you are suggesting ppl to go through another layer of rng to get er subs .So why not just not go through the pain and use fav with triple em , more resin efficient and as for crit rate u need around 25%-35% to proc it which you can focus on your flower and feather as they are easier to get with good substats
And as for the mathematics, I think spending '1000 resin is better than spending 10k on your freakin SUPPORT'
And If you don't like how 1010 phrases his arguments I would say go watch zajef77 , he will explain it much better
@@musicaddict9058 Fav helps your party with its energy particles

I was a Fav preacher before it was cool. Thanks daddy Zajeff.
The most important thing that You missed is that Fav has higher artifact stats than IronS. It was explained so clearly by I think Sevy. Adding Your explanation on how easy it is to proc Crit makes it much better.
4:33 I think Tenten cheated just showing 8 numbers instead of why 9 number.
This is actually very easy to understand. As kazuha barely give a shit about base attack, you should prioritize higher sub value on said weapon. Iron sting 157 EM is less than a fully upgraded arti main stats so you're missing a couple rolls there in turn for better base attack which is a waste for him.
Then sac. Weapon is better
@@cookiemon6420 Sac only gives Anemo Particles which doesn't benefit the team as much as white particles from Fav does.
When I swapped my Iron Sting for R5 Favonious Sword, my rotations and burst uptime problems disappeared.
well yeah obviously, since fav sword gives more ER

Bringing more than one or two fav users is overkill especially if you also roll good er substats.
Heck, if you run him with Raiden then it becomes more of an issue.

agree. iron sting is still a very good choice. yeah maybe fav is better but it doesnt mean that iron sting sucks. iron sting gives you bigger buff and also bigger swirl damage. not to mention that it is free to play
@@liliaceae2212 TF kazuha teams run another anemo for vv.
The amount of shit I got for saying this
My Kazuha has 905 EM AND 183 ER with Iron Sting and 4p VV, and I haven't had any problems yet with rotations in any teams I tried him.
Well done!
I'm in the exact same situation. Tenten's advice will apply to a big chunk of players who don't even think of building ER on Kazuha, but to say iron sting is garbage and ignore the very clear exceptions (high ER from subs, using him in hyper raiden) is to overcorrect too much

I have 154% ER on him in just substas and c. I would consider changing if I haven't given my r5 fav sword to bennet 😭. Also I'm lacking an EM circle
really depends on the team. For Melt Ganyu and International even that wouldn't be enough.
I have 183 ER just from substats. When I do my freeze rotation correctly I have zero energy issues. Artifact luck can be unfair the other way around too.

@@kingdoom5022 my Xiangling has 170 ER without ER Weapon or ER Sands she dosen't need more when I am running her together with Bennet.

🌸😹It would be an argument all would be fascinated about and that all would never be the same after!😹🌸
Haven’t watched yet.
In overworks sac sword feels the best
ngl i get my burst way faster in abyss than i do in overworld, though.

Plus with surplus EM it tends to have diminishing returns which was proven long time ago
Not sure if 8% more elemental damage is considered small. If we look at elemental reaction damage multiplier alone then yes, the diminishing return is significant.
@@craiver00 It's not that big, especially since most teams where you run Kazuha generally already have pretty high elemental damage bonus stat.
