meadow wilton, in my opinion one of the most tragic characters in cult. think about it, all she wanted was someone to make her feel special, then kai comes along and gives her that, but at a price. she knew what she was doing was wrong, but she enjoyed it because of all the frustration that she had. her last words were “this is the face of true love”, obviously referring to kai saying “this will be our secret, our everlasting love.” she wanted his love, not because she actually loved him, but because he pretended to love her. he was probably the first person in a long time to make her feel like she was someone. but the problem is, if he had the power to make her feel loved and wanted, he also had the opposite. but even when meadow realized it was all a sham, she lets him manipulate her again. if you think about it, she does that a lot, she lets people walk all over her. she said she wasn’t a successful “boss bitch”, and that’s why. kai uses fear, and meadow told him her fear, it might not have seemed like he used it, but he did. harrison was meadows “bff”, but being in a loveless fraud of a marriage made him resent her. honestly, it probably would have been less painful for both of them if he just left. basically, meadow was the perfect target for kai, low self esteem, bottled up emotions, and desperate enough they they’d follow the first person who showed them affection. thank you for coming to to my ted talk.
I have my reservations about Ryan Murphy but hats off to him for taking the comedic relief character and giving them one of the darkest turns I've ever seen on a show. That was pure boldness

For God’s sake, she saw through Kai’s lies and then fell for them all over again. Can people who like her explain why they like her? I don’t see the appeal and I want to understand it.
I think she was one of the few characters who wasn’t extremely serious. She didn’t even take herself seriously, and she represented the basic suburban white woman in a marriage that she wasn’t happy in. Her character was kind of a joke in itself. She was the humor after the cult killed like 4 people in a row. She was relatable
