@John Smith That doesn't mean Ace Combat is bad though. I don't like platformers, but that doesn't mean they're bad games. Now if you want a genuinely bad game, look at stuff like Big Rigs Over The Road Racing, or Ride To Hell: Retribution. Also, DCS and Ace Combat are two totally different genres. DCS is a study level flight sim, while Ace Combat is a arcade-y combat flight games, so DCS can't be the best arcade combat flight game, and Ace Combat can't be the best study level flight sim. I like both of them for different reasons, I don't always want to play something arcade-y, and sometimes I don't want to play something that's the next best thing to the real plane and want to sit on my couch and relax with a game that scratches that power fantasy itch.
Ace Combat definitely is as accurate as an intoxicated dart thrower when it comes to military tech, but that just serves as a vehicle to carry the story. It's great to see you continue the playthrough.
i know, during the mission when we had to intercept the cargo plane carrying Mihaly's grandaughters it offered points to shoot it down... nevertheless i shot it down within seconds and had to restart the mission lol
You can change the units in this game from either Feet/Knots or Kilometers/KPH. Any voice lines from characters with any distance/speed unit will depend on which units you selected too
Oh bless, that drove me insane in previous games. I always had my units in metric and when the game told me to go below 400 feet I was always like... "GREAT, please speak my language I don't wanna die Dx"
@@TopRacer2002 bruh you haven't seen Belkan witchcrafts They can do insane stuff such as firing lasers, Railguns, firing 20 missiles at once, capable of resisting High G turns that would tear normal planes apart, Drones that will actively study enemy pilot movements and mimic them, Electronic decoys, naval aircrafts that is capable at launching from underwater submarine carrier! But most importantly Pilots that can fly early 4th Gen jets and destroy all the stuff I said above and feared by the enemies
For the "aircrafts" thing, the English localization of this game is often really weird and occasionally nonsense for no explicable reason. For example in the intro, she says about some fighter pilots "they must have been pulling at least 30 Gs", which is obviously ridiculous. However in the original Japanese version, she actually says something like "they were pulling Gs like it was nothing", which at least makes a bit more sense in that context. I've no idea why it was translated like that, although it's not like the game isn't incredibly silly in the first place anyway.
Let's be honest, translation can't be 100% correct. Every language has its own meaning to write what they say, and by doing that, other language translating to one is either you add or subtract words to make more sense, in a weird way.

Always enjoy watching these, been playing Ace Combat since i was 12 (AC4), always knew that it was unrealistic but they were always fun to play. Always good to hear someone knowledgeable point more things out about what's stupid, what's missing, what should be there that isn't, etc... Hope to see more when you can get to them.

I first caught the ACE COMBAT bug way back in the late 90's when visiting family while on leave my two cousins and I stayed up all night playing AIR COMBAT, AC2 & AC3 having a blast. As a groundpounder it was fun playing fighter jock. I still have the games as far as AC Zero played the ones on PS3 but didn't like them as much as they started changing the way you could fly and the POV'S to like a remote control view at random during A2A engagements. Thankfully I still have my PS2 and BC PS3 to play the older games on.
Out of curiosity, has Mover done a playthrough of this? I realize it's heavy on the arcade aspects but the game is still insane fun and there's no other franchise out there that makes you feel like the sheer GOAT.

Drone is a ZOE. Zone of endless made a return from ace combat 2. Belkan technology erusea burrowed. first 3 jets with a x29 shaped wing are based of the first ADF morgan 1 & 2 ADF01 falken there was a ADF adler (attacker version of the falken) but got scrapped.
That's damn fast acceleration even with kph. 5 seconds in and the F-15 is breaking FARs with the gear down And it reaches Mach 2 in 6 seconds from 500 kph wtf
What he doesnt understand is that you play as a being devoid of blood, unbound by the laws of physics or gravity. The eldritch horror known as trigger does not need blood.
Fun fact at the very start of this mission there's a window where you can shoot down the c17 and it will immediately fail the mission however after a bit the aircraft becomes invincible and if you fire on it the computerized voice will say "caution "repeatedly and on the HUD it will say "ceasefire" like it will if you attack most allies
As depicted in AC7, maybe not. As it has been depicted in other Ace Combat games where it basically insta-kills literally anything it touches and has no counter-measure other than sheer pilot skill avoiding getting hit then yes.
If the going gets tough you could always get the Top Gun Maverick DLC jets. My personal favorite is the Darkstar as you can configure it to have 4 lasers. Oh one more thing, just for the fun of it you can shoot down Mckinzie, obviously you'll fail the mission but AWACS Bandog's comment about it was great. AWACS Bandog: You failed to protect the commander, not that he deserved the protection

For someone not in the loop, why don't they call them aircrafts? Would it be jets, bogies, bandis, tallies or the like instead or am I getting it wrong?
If you're serious about not really knowing, it means raise the landing gear (tires) into the plane. If they fly too fast before raising the landing gear, it will cause damage, so they need to be raised right after take-off.
"Whoa, what is this? Lasers?!? Ah, awesome!" - Mover suddenly realizes Ace Combat is better than reality.

I actually thought this is how fighter jets maneuvered in combat when I was lee lad. It was enjoyable on PS2 back in the day.
In Ace Combat 3 & 4 they had a bit of realism where the gravity affects the plane

There are settings in the game to use imperial over metric it's just set as metric default probably due to being a Japanese game
