I'm from London but I worked in the States around 2003 for a month, this tune takes me right back to a very hot summer staying in Covington in Northern Kentucky (office was based on the river actually on the South side though known as our "Cincinnati" office). I loved my stay and this track takes me back every time!
@@FollowingFootprintsMedia Yeah I think it was one of the earliest for me also, bootlegged off some file-sharing site! (I've bought stacks of his albums since though, always do!)
I discovered Plug a little later than I did Wagon Christ, there were (still are) so many gems to uncover with Luke! And I saw yesterday there's a new Wagon Christ record on its way in October!!
Interesting! I listened, but couldn't pick it out.. But I visited www.whosampled.com and was interested to find this: ua-cam.com/video/IY1KGhzGbFM/v-deo.html
I guess I was thinking of the sample from 2:46 which is quite similar to "Port-au-Prince" (ua-cam.com/video/oJtf-JULVX0/v-deo.html) from 0:44. But it might be some other Atwell recording. Btw some of Atwell's records were reissued on Ace Of Clubs, which also was one of Luke's aliases.
Pure magic from Luke
My 9 year old brother is digging this........ Maybe there is hope for the world afterall.
I hope he's still spinning it now in 2023?!
Smooth af. I always go back to this groove, 25 years after the fact
This shit brings back vivid memories of driving out to a cemetery with friends and rolling a blunt in the car to this.
first wagon christ album i got, back when it came out. i was into the plug ep's, but this was my 1st WC... blew me away....
Coolest album cover art I've seen in a while!
Love this album !!
One of my all-time favorite tracks by one of my all-time favorite artists. Vibert is the man.
My thoughts exactly!
Always reminds me of driving through sleepy and/or abandoned towns in the southwest... especially off Route 66

I love this music so much, it's hard to describe. Luke Vibert is so brilliant, everyone should hear his work, like it or not.
After more than 20 years of enjoying Luke's music, I've realised this is my absolute favourite track of his - among the hundreds of fantastic tracks
@@Hologhoul It's definitely up there for me as well. In fact, it's the first track by Luke I ever heard.

Same for me! I'll never forget hearing Plug's "Drum and Bass for Papa" for the first time back in college... Blew my mind

Good shout!
there's pretty much no denying this track, or for that matter this whole album.
Groovy
I agree--if you know of Luke Vibert in any form (of which there are many) that says something really good about you

14 years old....fuck!
😄😄😄
nice!!
i'm pretty sure pretty lights straight gipped this song a decade after...
Does anyone know where the piano sample is from?
I'm curious about ALL the samples? It's magical, the atmosphere Luke creates with these weird old samples...
The piano sample could be from Winifred Atwell's "Port-au-Prince".
