This used to be favorite song of my grandfather. Many times he used to sing this song. I had asked many times why do u love this song but only last year he told me the story behind it. Well, He used to love a girl who used to live in his fufu village. The girl and he fell in love in a mela. So they promised each other to write letters and wait for each others. Then after they used to talk through letters. But suddenly the letters stopped. Also at the same time his father died so every responsibility fell on him ( he was still in teenage) he left the study and went to Dehli to work. From delhi he wrote many letters but non got replied... Suddenly after a year a letter from the girl came to him.. There she had written that her marriage is about to happen and she can't be his lover anymore and told him to stop writing letters to her. ( it happen that she had received all those letters)... Then after 3 years he came back home for marriage. The bride ( my grandmother) was from the neighboring village of his fufu. So his family went there to see the girl. ( in those days family used settle everything and boy and girl could meet only everything was fixed) so my grandfather stayed in his fufu house only. And coincidentally he went to same mela and meet the girl whom he used to love. He saw her...she saw him.. Nothing was spoken .... She looked away..both moved away...... And this was the very 1st time he sang the song when he was going back alone to his fufu home........ After that he married my grandmother and he used to love her with all his heart but still somewhere there was a soft corner for that girl.. ( we could clearly see that when he was telling about her)... We were really amazed by this side of him. Haha he had buried this in his heart for more than 50 years. Sadly my old man died this year. And i am here to remember and relive his memories. Love you dadu..... May his soul rest in peace. And may all the lovers get their love and none have to go through tragedy.
Wahid Murad was a fantastic actor besides his charming look. He might be knowing how to play piano. I have seen Hindi movies with hero barely touching piano and is shown playing it but if we look here, Wahid Murad's fingers are spot on the piano at each note as if he is really playing it and singing.
I find his acting excellent. This is the only actor i've seen who has played an instrument correctly. It looked like he was playing the notes for real.

Some of my class fellows in 1971 left for Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, US, UK etc. At this end stage of life I think about them, there whereabouts. Wish them well! I come here from Rekha Singing Gazar...
Assalamu Alikum,
From Chittagong, Bdesh. Saw "Do Raha" in 1967, while in 9th grade at Muslim High School CTG. Today I am listening to this song, after 56 years. Brings alot of memories from school and college days. It wrenches heart.
Was in Chittagong Govt College 1969 to 1971. Some of my class fellows in 1971 left for Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, US, UK etc. At this end stage of life I think about them, there whereabouts. Wish them well! I wonder in this tech era, someway if I can meet them again.
After a historic peoples revolution BD gets real freedom from the Zalim Shahi of Hasina on August 5th 2024.
Allah hafiz.
