Interesting, I didn't know there was a promo for those. I remember seeing a bunch of those early Wheelock AS through out the halls of the Career & Technology Center I had a class at back in 2021-22. Though I also remember a small few oddly being a much darker tone of red than the rest. Pretty neat there's a small clip of the assembly line for what seems to be the MT's
Wow this is crazy, this is around the time that mechanical horns were in the wane phase in the market and any older system pre-ADA would be grandfathered in.
Not since they & their parent Cooper Industries were taken over by Eaton Corporation in 2012 if you ask me; the Eluxa-series is the latest example of that.
@@gavinproduction7433 people being taught about fire alarm systems and safety should REALLY be more prioritized. I bet hardly anyone would know how a Two stage alarm system would work, pull alarm, insert key to activate second stage, but I'm not sure how many people in buildings that have that would know it, this is just one example I thought of.
Ever since discovering this video I've wanted to know the identities of the two music tracks in it, but have gotten nowhere: Shazam, BeatFind, & Google couldn't ID them. My only guess is that they're from some obscure 90s or maybe 80s or even earlier stock/production music album/library. Any ideas anyone?
I actually "found" it in a way: I contacted Ben Schumin, owner of The Schumin Web & semi-retired life safety enthusiast, to ask about two photos of the AS at 4:54 that he had posted in a topic of his, & he sent me links to this video & the other one that HenBasket uploaded about Wheelock's VoiceLink-series of voice panels. I'm glad that their mere existence was discovered: I love finding life safety promotional material/media/literature like this (which is very hard to find due to its nature).
You're obviously saying that wrong. What's its being discussed is that silencing the alarm allows you to hear the message being transmitted through the radio device as loud fire alarm noises overpower what's being transmitted as it comes through the radio and makes it very hard for the person on the other end to hear because they're hearing an alarm sound through the radio speaker and one right next to them
I did, at least in a way: look at the replies to a comment by someone named "firealarm2903_" in this video's comments section & you'll find the full explanation.
Look like that video is frome a old v h s tape.can you make a new video on wheelock and new fire alarmes on dvd ore a lot better camara and l would like to here it crank up the valaume i like it loud thank you
That eerie image of the WTC is chilling
The WTC did have wheelock alarms (rebranded by pyrotronics I think) it was MT-style speaker strobes
@@EmillioMelendez it’s hard to imagine how much destroyed those alarms are after when the world trade center collapsed
Yea but were they tamper resistant speaker strobes?
@@Kirby7601 They weren't the tamperproof models. They were Pyrotronics rebranded Wheelock E7070-LSM-24's (Pyrotronics SS70 15/75)
@@Weihuanwu oh ok
It’s cool to see the Horizontal ASes in this video, just got some from my school recently

Hated these alarms and still do.
simplex and wheelock
Ah yes, the “blowing whistle” fire alarm.
Cool! Wheelock is one my favorite fire alarm brands
System Sensor is probably my favorite
@@captainchris2016 my favorite also
Looks like they were still installing components into the PCB's by hand back then.
Nice video I like that wheelock as a fire alarm company is very creative.
This is cool. My old Middle School and High School has one of those and they do Continuous during a Fire Drill.
Wheelock is a W company, prove me wrong.

They're loud as hell I hate them.
Hmmmmm Wheelock is A “W” Company 😏
They should air a modern version of this cause I've seen a lot of fire alarm fails sadly
Good I hate them.

There is Wheelock Fire Alarm in Nashville General Hospital at Meharry Nashville TN

I have those in my middle school
I didn't know they made the older style AS in a syncable version, how did you find this video?
All the older style as' are syncable just dont have the bulit in code 3 option

This video seems super dated, like early 90s, but I remember the AS series being new back in 1996.
5:05 that is the twin tower
Yes! Very Erie...
Is Nashville General Hospital at Meharry Nashville TN There is Wheelock fire alarm ?
Nice, are you going to upload the one about the voice systems?
Yes, soon

That's cool

Oh wow
Cool 😎
5:25 This has nothing to do with anything. Radio reception isn’t affected by the alarm. 🙄
