Hey hey Chuck Its Marvin your cousin Marvin Berry! You know that new sound you lookin for? Well listen to This!!! Hey Chack è Marvin tuo cugino Marvin Barry! Ricordi il nuovo sound che stavi cercando? Ascolta questo!!!
This song wasn't written in 1958, but in 1955. Chuck heard it when his cousin called him by phone during a concert in a school. It looked like a young unknown boy was playing it
It's amazing how in almost 60 years this is still one of the greatest songs ever written. Most of these guitarists and songwriters today need to get back to the roots.
That’s weird I seen a kid named Calvin Klein play this song at my old high school dance in 1955, 4 years before this was released Did this Chuck Berry character rip that boy off? I haven’t seen the kid since?? We have to look into his
No, I also knew Calvin he helped me meet my wife! I think he changed his name I think, I haven’t been able to find him - but we named our third child after him!
I've always went by Johnny, and when I was a kid I was a hellion. Played guitar and and my dad sung this to me all the time. He passed away a few years ago and every time I think about making a dumb decision I hear him singing. "Johnny b good tonight" miss you pop
Johnny B. Goode is the very first JOJO. Johnny went all the way from Louisiana to England, playing some music and kicking some butts, and his descendants also made adventures.
Deep down Louisiana close to New Orleans, Way back up in the woods among the evergreens There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood, Where lived a country boy named of Johnny B. Goode Who never ever learned to read or write so well, But he could play the guitar like ringing a bell. Go Go Go Johnny Go Go Johnny Go Go Johnny Go Johnny B. Goode He use to carry his guitar in a gunny sack Or sit beneath the trees by the railroad track. Oh, the engineers used to see him sitting in the shade, Strumming with the rhythm that the drivers made. The People passing by, they would stop and say Oh my that little country boy could play Go go Go Johnny go go Go Johnny go go Go Johnny go go Johnny B goode His mother told him someday you will be a man, And you would be the leader of a big old band. Many people coming from miles around To hear you play your music when the sun go down Maybe someday your name will be in lights Saying Johnny B. Goode tonight.
+barry smith Yep. This is the best rock song ever. Last week I recorded Johnny B. Goode. I rocked it singing & playing bass guitar, and I even did the solo behind my head. I want to do this for America's Got Talent on the 1st week to be judged. It's my featured video right now. I hope you'll check it out and like it. Take care.
My mom was 8 when this song was recorded. I remember playing a record with this song on it as kids on grandpas Record player. We LOVED it! Now I play it and me and my kids dance and sing along. I hope they keep good older music going for their kids too. So fun to listen to.
Rest in peace to the great legend Chuck Berry. Without him we wouldn't have a great song nor a great scene from one of the greatest films ever made. Again Rest in Peace.
Well... he made it through that hail of bullets in 2016. He was 90 when he passed. And he influenced just about every musician out there in some way. Guess it doesn't get any better than that. Good night, Chuck, thanks for the memories!
***** Elvis made rock'n'roll as we know. The first figure in 50s music is Elvis right next to second Berry. Just the King. Don't say you never heard this.
***** Back to the Future is the best thing to come from Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox's careers. It also is one of the greatest time travel movies ever. How is it mediocre?
Am I the only one who gets slightly emotional where his mother says someday his name will be in lights saying Johnny B Goode tonight? Absolutely beautiful song and timeless guitar playing.
No doubt and he put everything he has into it. Learning on his own to be the best in is field. If he could do it during extremely racist times from mf who need to be put in their place . He's a LEGEND and always will be . There's NO reason for a bunch of people thinking they are owed $$$ for not doing a damn thing .
I’m 62 and i still remember one time in 1955 this kid named Calvin Klein was playing this song and I also saw someone who looks a lot like him on the ceiling. Times were strange, hell they still are
Chuck Berry was born close to my birthdate. A year or so back from now, he was invited to Stockholm, Sweden, to get a reward. for his music. But he never came. By the time he was invited, he was too old to travel. I really regret that he didnt come, I would have liked to see him rewarded for his work, and specifically for Johnny Be Goode.
Any other decade. I could have lived in any of the past 5 decades and had wonderful music(besides 80's). Why? Why here? Why now? Why don't kids listen to this instead? I show these to my friends and just blow their minds every time
Wow, You put this out there ten years ago, who would of thought it would be the song that got me over a very steep hill with my harmonica playing. I can’t thank you enough for all the help your free video’s Have given me. Keep up the great work it means a lot to us beginners. Jeff B

God bless ya Grandpa, Bro
Sorry for your loss.

Oddly enough, he appeared to be wearing a life preserver
It's amazing how in almost 60 years this is still one of the greatest songs ever written. Most of these guitarists and songwriters today need to get back to the roots.
Jacob Crowell they probably never will. It's more about performance than actual value for most of the mainstream musicians nowadays.
how is that amazing when beethoven's music is 200 yrs old still considered great by millions. MUSIC IS ETERNAL not mortal. jimi hendrix told me that
They think the" NEW SOUND " is better. Show's how little they know.
They don't even use instruments these days, just computer generated garbage.
I didn't know that saying go Johnny go go a couple times was poetical lyrics
That’s weird

All right, guys, uh, listen. This is a blues riff in "B", watch me for the changes, and try and keep up, okay?
