The bottom one invites you in to take the path to the ocean. I enjoy hearing you work through challenges that come up as you paint because it helps me. Thank you for these tutorials, Hannah. 😊
I loved watching you work through the dunes. Telling us how you were not overly pleased with the shadows and grass on the first painting and how you corrected them. Thank you
Lovely landscape. What time on Saturday do you do the paint & sip? I just received your book. I have been reading through it for now. But I can't wait to start painting. Thank you Hannah 😊❤
Scratching into wet paper makes the paint pool there, so you'll get a darker looking line. Waiting until it's just damp let's you scratch into the paper giving you highlights, like these. Looks like she was nervous and just trying to move on too soon. You could also add some splatter to the sand for some added texture and interest.
Thanks for the feedback! This was only my second time trying this technique so I was just trying to work out the best way to do it. I also didn’t want to miss the window since it’s very dry here and the paint was drying quickly! I thought about doing paint splatter for the foreground sand but decided I wanted a little more control over that texture with my brush. Hope you enjoyed the video anyway!

Thank you!! I felt like it might be helpful to share my thought processes when I’m working through something like that, so I’m glad you enjoyed it!

I think the sand needs additional attention, looks too clean and smooth?
BTW, the cars sound like ocean waves!
I agree!! The car noise really can’t be helped so I’m glad it’s at least a pleasant sound (most of the time)!
I agree. Made for wonderful ambiance 😊
