- I've wanted to make an edit like this for a while now. In most kdramas, there's always this second lead girl that everyone hates. But the thing is, i often tend to like those characters more than the main sometimes. I definitely think they have a better storyline. But many fans of kdramas just hate on those characters instead of trying to see why they behave the way they do. Those "evil" characters often have problems at home or some other issue that they are hiding. So in this edit, i wanted to show more of their emotional side and not just how they are pretending to be.

&& this goes for every actor or actress 💕.
To be honest, when you hate the second lead it should mean that you should love the actress more because making everyone hate your character is a talent and is sometimes even harder than playing the main lead.

Ye seo is Sky Castle is such a masterpiece of a character.
She can make you hate her and the next second you sympathize with her.
(BTW Kim Hyeyoon is such a good actress. Ye Seo and Eun DanOh are polar opposites but she handled both the roles extremely well!!)

Kim Hyeyoon acted just on point in 'Sky castle'. In general all these women showcased how peoples behaviour changes with their surroundings and their lifestyle. Especially since they all had major traumas inscripted in their life

it's frustrating how the second female lead is always glamorous, confident and bold and how the main is always poor, nerdy, innocent and bashful. it suggests that in korea, those kind of girls are more desirable while the other is either a mean girl or problematic and therefore shouldnt get the guy. I would love to watch a drama with a female lead who has the second lead traits/personality. girl's don't have to be virtuous and lovely to be worthy of love. I wish kdrama's could realise that and stop pandering to that notion.

Why do most second female lead almost always turn into a villain while the second male lead is always the good guy?
Yaa exactly.. Most of the time in kdramas second male lead is portrayed as good, kind. Where as second female lead as a bad villen witch.. In legend of blue sea i really felt bad for cha shi aa.. Almost 10 years she was with him.. She tried her best to impress him.. But all she got was that shitty attitude.. He doesnt even care.. Eventually she found her love.. But still it was bad.. In dramas if second male lead take care of the main female lead everybody appreciate them.. But when the second female did the same no body talks about it.. In true beauty also i felt bad for soojin.. I know she did wrong but she realised her mistake and asked for apology as well.. And why cant dramas portray second female as good caring and all..honestly i am tired of seeing females as bad villens in most dramas..

Never hated Soo Ji (Tempted) bc all she wanted to do was protect the people that she loved and wanted to keep the people closest to her, close to her. But her best friend got taken away 😭😢

I didn't see the whole drama but all I could remember from it is her. Definitely one of the best second lead character since I remember her better than the FL.

Moon Ga Young's character was MEANT to be dirty. Watch the beginning where Joy's character wasn't there yet. She's already toxic. Their friendship is already not healthy.

When I was watching sky castle, i liked ye seo a lot. People can say she has an attitude but when the near was ending all the emotions inside her came out. For me she never had an attitude,she let all her emotions out after keeping it inside. Ye seo was framed for murdering the girl, but it wasn't her and my most favourite second lead syndrome will always be ye seo.
Same my friend said she was bratty and all but the real thing is that all she wanted was for her parents to be proud of her she was forced to study so much to make her grandma accept her in reality you’d pity yourself if you were her too

I always liked the second lead actresses I always thought that their characters are even harder to pull off than the main one , they show some really good emotions and they always make u get into their characters that you find yourself very into it , this video really showed the amazing acting skills of a second lead actress not anyone can pull it off

Honestly I've never felt the same way about any character like I have with sooji. I hated her so much but wanted to hug her so badly. She went through way too much at a very young age, had no one on her side and those that did left her because of her toxicity and it left me in such a wierd state. I was really happy in the ending but her character is seriously one of a kind for me.
I actually love yesuh more than hyena. such a great actress kim hyeyoon!

I'm coming from the future to say that Soojin from True Beauty would fit perfectly here.
In terms of second female lead, writer Park Jieun is phenomenal in creating them (e.g. 'The Producers', 'Crash Landing On You, 'My Love From Another Star')!
Generic k-dramas always give off second female leads you hate straight away, but she manages to give you these characters who are three-dimensional which the audience can sympathize with (given the actress can pull it off).
The only problem is that I preferred the second female lead over the main character...

Everyone hated Choi soo Jin but I loved her character. The built up of strength even though she's broken, the mean girl act she puts on in order to get what it is she wants. She was tired of things being taken from her and she finally fought back but people thought she was being a bitch. I loved her character.
I have always fall for the second female lead....When i saw Shining Inheritence i fall for Moon Chae Won.....Still loving her....And after Tempted I fall for Moon Ga Young...Still loving her...And after Cheese in the trap i fall for Kyung.......I just love these women....

This one hit so hard, these are all my favorite characters, the damaged ones who try to act tough when their insides are crumbling. I loved this one so much, I was about to cry. Knowing the lyrics and the plots of most of these dramas along with the special edits, this video was literally amazing!

Male leads are being a b*st*rd and people say that it's because he had problems in his past but even second female lead suffers from problems and when she behaves like b*tch people give hate to their character.
