Police blocked FDC party president Dr. Kizza Besigye from taking part in the walk-to-work protest and confined him to his residence in Kasangati. Earlier, a scuffle ensued as Besigye attempted to begin his journey on foot to the FDC offices in Najjanankumbi, a Kampala suburb. Besigye was briefly detained at Kasangati police station before he was taken back to his house.
