Step-by-step tutorial
Pockets.
4. Iron the pocket seam allowance by 1 cm.
5. Iron the pocket hem by 2 cm.
6. Turn the pocket hem to the front side, sew the side edges of the hem.
7. Turn the pocket hem inside out.
8. Iron the pocket allowances on the sides and bottom, postpone the hem.
Left placket. (concealed button placket)
9. Iron the 1 cm seam allowance to the wrong side.
Iron the 4 cm hem to the wrong side.
Right placket.
10. Iron the 1 cm seam allowance to the wrong side.
Iron the 4 cm hem to the wrong side (lower part of the fastening). Make
buttonholes.
11. Iron the top part of the placket according to the markings.
12. Sew the front parts to the side parts, iron towards the center front.
13. Attach the patch pockets.
14. Sew the side parts of the back to the center back. Iron the seams towards the
center.
15. Sew the front parts to the back along the side seams. Press the seams. Iron
the hem.
Facing.
16. Interface the front facings with fusible interfacing.
17. Interface the back facings with fusible interfacing.
18. Sew the back facings, press the seams .
19. Sew the side seams of the back and front facings, press the seams.
20. Sew the front facings to the placket seam allowances.
21. Sew the facing to the main garment along the neckline, back, and armholes,
leaving 2 cm unseen at the shoulder seams. Clip the seam allowances.
22. Turn the front facings to the right side.
23. Insert the front parts between the back and the facing, aligning the shoulder
seams of the facing with the shoulder seams of the garment.
24. Sew the shoulder seams.
25. Finish sewing the neckline and armholes.
26. Turn the garment right side out. Topstitch the plackets along the garment.
Additionally, secure the right placket below the buttonholes with a joining stitch.
Hem the bottom of the garment.
Belt.
27. Sew the short sides of the belt. Press the seam.
28. Fold the belt lengthwise with the outer sides together. Sew the side edges of
the belt. Sew the long side of the belt, leaving an opening in the middle for
turning. Turn the belt right side out. Press. Sew on buttons.
