How to Tie a Bandana

Wearing a bandana has many benefits, including protecting your head from the sun and keeping it dry. Keep your cool and learn to tie a bandana.
Step 1: Lay on flat surface
Spread out your bandana on a flat surface.
Step 2: Fold
Fold one corner of the bandana over to meet the opposite corner, making a triangle.
Step 3: Pick up
Pick up the bandana, holding it at either corner along the fold. Then lean forward and position the center of the folded edge against your forehead.
Tip
The middle of the forehead is a comfortable spot.
Step 4: Wrap it
Pull the corners outward while holding the bandana and wrap them back and around your head.
Step 5: Tie
Tie the two corners together in a knot at the back of your head.
Step 6: Pull
Hold the knot with one hand while pulling the third corner of the bandana back, over your head and over the knot.
Step 7: Tie a knot
Tie a second knot, joining all three corners together. Your bandana is now secure.

As any old hippie will tell you, you don't fold it in half first. You start to fold it in half but fold it two or three inches short of the end. This gives you more length for the central tail. Also, you can tuck the little ears inside more to give it a more rounded shape, which keeps it from getting caught on the tree branches when you're gathering wood for your tipi.

It's interesting enough throughout the video, i have worn a bandana ever since mid 1980's at work and casual wear. I really don't fold it in half corner to corner in a exact triangle like the video, i have only always fold the the corner half way towards the middle of the bandana, it gives you more material to the back of your neck of which it's easy to place on your head if you've got long hair. It's easy to tie the side corners better at the nape of the back your head much more easier, pus it gives your hair more protection of dirt and dust keeping your hair clean throughout the day if working in a horticultural or agricultural environment of your job. Just a suggestion for i thought that i would share it with us

@SurfingGrizzlyBears i dont know about you but when i was trying to get a bandana for paintalling i couldn't find any descent colors that i liked or that matched anything do i just got an old brown t-shirt and cut it into a giant square like a bandana and then did the same steps! its comfortable, the perfect color and super cleap! seriously try it 1000x more comfortable then a bandana!

I think you have to put the tip of the third end over the knot and then tie the first two ends over the third end so the third end gets squeezed in the second knot

2 roll the bandanna to the half and than continue from step 3.

This way is great if you have a small head if you you have a big melon head like mine watch the other videos and you will se if you just fold one corner NOT all the way in half but quarter it works SOOOO much better

@nonofyall Not really. If you have medium to long hair and you play sports they are great. I use it all the time when i play pickup bball to keep my bangs out of my eyes.
