Leafs and Canada as a whole need Auston Matthews back asap if they wanna get to the next round. I'm hoping the Leafs get to the Stanley Cup or at least the Eastern Conference Final, I did picture and want to see a all Canadian Cup like Canucks or Oilers vs Leafs for Lord Stanley
Jim Montgomery’s Bruins led 3 games to 1 against the Panthers in last year’s Round 1 only to lose three straight. The Leafs could do it also.

Their power play sucks with or without him, and the team played well enough to win . IF he's not healthy , why rush him back ? I'm not saying to bench him , I'm simply saying if he isn't healthy , don't play him .

Matthews generates about 33% to 50% assists when only just compared with the top current 25 NHL assist leaders.
That is a significant weakness for a first line Centre. It explains why OV, Hull and Selanne the great snipers play wing. 😀 Move Matthews to the wing.
How? Plays a great ridiculously underrated two way game and is phenomenal at face offs… you’re not getting the assists if you’re scoring the goals, he’s a pretty complete player as far as backchecking and his +\- especially when he’s healthy
@@DamonBurke Matthews and other snipers are best used on the wing. When players like Matthews are on the wing (with their low assist generating skills) teams win playoffs series & go on playoff runs.
Matthews has the skills to be an elite winger. I have not heard one person dispute that. The problem is Leaf Fans deny Matthews is a playoff disappointment and ignore his weakness - he generates 33% assists when compared to NHL assist leaders. Taking Matthews out of the first line Centre position didn’t look like it hurt the Leafs at all last game. 😀
@@jimlangdon1947 assists isn’t the only thing to look at. Matthews has an ice edible two way play that gets the puck out of the zone, and he is the player you want carrying the puck on zone entry. He is through and through a center. His stats would struggle as a center. Marner completely turned his game around after Matthews and nylander gave it to him on the bench. Matthews is not OVI… he’s a way more complete player. Honestly just watch a Matthews shift he’s such a good 200 foot player, and that’s taken away if he goes to wing.
Keep him out of the lineup. And take marner out as well
