I found that Leon and Krauser had a bit of a respectful bond, in a way, despite ending up as enemies in RE4. Leon knew too well of Krauser being one to pull underhanded moves, which Krauser himself was aware of, to where it's like their early encounters were more of a deadly sparring match for them to chat before resolving to the final fight. The best scene would be in the ruins when he calls out to Leon about what he fights for. To find out what drives this young agent to risk so much to fight each other over. Despite having a gun and clear aim of Leon, he holds himself to ask it: "What're you fighting for, comrade?" "My past, I suppose." Not the usual, snarky Leon response that you usually see him use against the villain bosses of the game. That alone told had some great weight into showing their relationship IMO. The editing of this video is amazing. Your commentary is fantastic, but I really appreciate all the effort you put in these transitions! And the jokes! :) Thank you for making it
I feel like part of why Resident Evil feels like an exception to the horde of generic zombie games is because it's not about an apocalypse, and it's not really a "zombie" game, it's actually scifi disguised as a zombie game. Just look at all the crazy B.O.W.'s Umbrella made and their huge labs and tell me it's not scifi.
One of the very very few things that I didn't like in the REmake was that change to Leon's reason for not showing up. I actually didn't remember the reason he was drunk but the pure coincidence of what happened to him made him more interesting as a character and especially with the part about the girlfriend makes him a lot easier to empathize with because it's a human flaw. It makes it more badass that he takes this call to action so seriously and discovers his inner badass as opposed to just.. him wanting to be Mr. Hero all along and nothing else. That rough edge on his character gave him a bit of depth that let you (or me at least) actually empathize with him more and appreciate the change that he goes through in the circumstances he was thrust into. And in the remake they sand away that 'rough' part of him and it only makes him more flat as a result if you ask me :/ I really liked the video though. Always love to see more "In the Mind of:" :3
@Toan Greenlow How's that odd? He doesn't know that the city was raid by fucking zombies. Also, that's how jobs work. You don't just go blindly to the workplace if you didn't receive a call whether you have been accepted or not. Since he was supposed to start his job last week but he didn't receive any calls. Either he's being rejected or something's happened and when he received a call to stay away, that's when he decided to check on the city. It's not that he received a call to stay away one week before he decided to go there. smh
@@KingJGrim I may be in minority in this, but I didn't like his drunken backstory because it didn't match how Leon was driving casually to the town and was pretty upbeat and ready for his duties. We weren't shown his drunken aspect when we first time saw him in RE2. Also it kinda makes me think Leon hooked up with Ada day later as rebound after breaking up with his GF day ago.
That's well thought out I have to say, however I have mixed thoughts about Leon's original backstory. It does humanize him but I felt it didn't match the way he behaved in RE2. He was driving casually to the town and was pretty upbeat and calm, willing to do his cop duties. Him rebounding with Ada after breakup day ago doesn't feel in his character. We don't see his gruff or sad aspects throughout the game. Don't get me wrong, I also didn't like in the Remake that Leon was dense when he wanted to save the city despite it being pretty much beyond hope. I guess it only works for Remake's characterization as Leon grows from naive, hopeful idiot to more serious and cynical person. However, the remake could have expanded on his original backstory or develop his depression and drinking issues over time. That's just my take.
Original RE2 Leon will always be the best. He had the tougher, take charge attitude, and he was the one doing most of the saving not the one being saved. Rookie or not he had a self assured personality that made me think he was just cut from a tougher cloth. He's also got 6 months academy training so he has some skill. And it makes sense to me that he would use his breakup as fuel to get serious and rise up to the difficult situation ahead of him. It's not uncommon for people to throw themselves into work when going through a rough patch.
@10:09 "but also with the power of BO-NAR" Thank you for making that sounds so damned epic. This just proves why I subscribed this channel. @Lightning XIII-2 Completely disagree. Remember, Re4 Leon was an outgrowth from the Original Re2 Leon, not the remake. Unlike the remake, the Original Leon had a tougher, take charge personality, about him. After being hardened by the events of RE2 and his further training, his personality growth makes sense in RE4.

I actually in light Leon story in resident evil 6. His rugged look in there really suits him.
@10:09 "but also with the power of BO-NAR"
Thank you for making that sounds so damned epic. This just proves why I subscribed this channel. Found you via link to the video about the "muthafuc*in DOOM GUY!", stayed for the rest of the videos I dug out of your archives, but this just shows why I will likely never leave. You rock!
17:00 the scream that launched the Serennedy ship
When the video got to Chris's vacation I jokingly said punching boulders to my self and seconds later Chris is punching a boulder I love you
9:00 Oh no guys, Leon's been Yamcha'd!
DBZ abridged reference... nice
BigEDMan Annoying asses are everywhere smh
You should have included leon from vendetta where he is so tired of the constant fight against the b.o.w, and how dirty the Us government is that he is whiling to abandond people threatened by B.O.W in a foreign country.
Yah I feel like Vendetta is a just repetitve story of Resident Evil 5.
"Sister of the legendary rock puncher him self" lmao we will never let capcom live that one down
And now they made the meme in the Resident Evil 8.
It’s hilarious to me that Leon screams out Lewis instead of Luis. Imagine dying, your name is Leon and someone is screaming Lion at the top of their lungs. Instantly gonna die from that lmao
Dude... its 4am in the UK and im nearly crying with laughter from your editing, from the rasputin to the YEET as Leon and Ashley are on the Jetski...Perfection
You gained a Sub 👏👏
I hope Leon raised a glass for Mike when he got back home.
Dude somehow im scared if re4 got remaked, leon already look perfect 😭
Same 😭
@@gabyn5091 it's happening

You think Chris RedField is at peak physical condition just like Batman
The moment he punched a boulder from his path, he transcended humanity.
Chris is not tied to the laws of man he and his boulder punching shall only ever grow stronger
Yeah....except agility...bruce is not just a brawler,he also a ninja/shaolin...i think chris can't even do a backflip
@@GREG_Khar-NÜ-Metalhead2000 Well duh, Ninja is Japanese for scout. And batman is quite stealthy.
@@fordf-2505 thats what i mean...bruce is agile,fast,stealthy

Great vid as always Grim, So happy you covered one of my favorite Horror protaganists and Can't wait for more streams and content
"Come ON!" Leon really is John Wick in the RE series
"And Rasputin?!"
*Shows Bitores Mendez*
I love you already, subbed.
Capcom should never remake RE4, they will never replicate Leon's personality, his voice and appearance. RE4 Leon is the best Leon ever.
Fortunatley they're not interested in remaking 4 (so I've heard at least). Don't fix what's not broken. And yeah, RE4 Leon is the best Leon :)
@Lightning XIII-2 why?
RE2 Remake Leon is the hottest lol
@Lightning XIII-2 Completely disagree. Remember, Re4 Leon was an outgrowth from the Original Re2 Leon, not the remake. Unlike the remake, the Original Leon had a tougher, take charge personality, about him. After being hardened by the events of RE2 and his further training, his personality growth makes sense in RE4.
Hell nah, RE4 Leon all the way! Mature and confident 😏
Mr X appears...

Redfield's bloodline in danger....😅😂😂😂
I love this channel and K.J.Grim
Pls do in the mind of Vergil pls👊
This was my first time watching one of your videos, and it was a blast. Favorite moments from this one: 3:35 and 13:16. Laughed so hard, the neighbors were banging on the walls and telling me to shut it.
PLEASE make a remake of this video since the resi4 remake is out! We've got more of his psychology and Ashley is just amazing too!
oh god AND LUIS
Awesome character, always nice to see him back to the series.
Awwwww that was nice. Leon is a total bro.
18:02 Love the flashback sequence you added, it goes so well with the music
Chris punching boulders on a vacation is the most hilarious shit I've seen 😂😂😂
Heeeeeey, another upload. I haven't said this about any channel but I seriously feel that this channel is very underrated. The script, the jokes, the quality content deserve more appreciation
I feel like if he would upload more in the mind of videos and would upload more often, he'd get more views, but he probably doesnt have time for that
FINALLY IT'S HERE! Mr. Grim you did it again, good job!
"Newbie & scared. To goofy & prepared." #lifegoal

The editing and references in this video was very very Impressive . Good job

RE LOGIC: Prea daughter gets kidnapped

You forgot the part where Leon was blackmailed by the government to join the military... (RE DarkSide Chronicles) true story.
Loved the timing/humor and editing!😂
3:48 i literally almost choke while eating an apple
RE2 Leon - I get to be this sick cool cop! Can't wait!
RE4 Leon - Fuck everything. . .
10:03 the time chris lost all hope
Okay, the Cotton Eyed Joe playing over the truck crash scene is one of the funniest things anyone has ever done with this series, thank you for that. I rewinded it like seven times and laughed every time.
Glad you got a laugh!
4:48 Leon in that scene in Resi4 had no reason to believe that elderly man was infected as he appeared human enough and spoke in clear dialect enough that Leon could “converse” with him. He explicitly told Leon “Get out of here, dumbass!”. Then proceeded to attack Leon as he turned his back.
When Leon sees sherry in re6:
DAUGHTER WHICH I DIDNT WANT IN THE 1ST PLACE????
I always watch your videos for those sweet dance breaks.
You did not disappoint.
Leon the love of my life, still impossible love
