D&H 5017

The 5017 was the last original D&H Alco to operate on the D&H property, lasting through the Guilford and Susquehanna eras into CP ownership. On retirement, it was purchased and restored to its original paint scheme by the Delaware & Ulster railroad, a scenic tourist line in the Catskill region of New York. Herewith a compendium of its final years in service, as well as a look at it in preservation.

I was being pulled by the 5107 a couple of months ago on the Delaware and Ulster railroad . Great inexpensive tourist railroad, the scenery was fantastic. Highly recommend it. And the Starrucca viaduct is not too far away.Great railroad destination
