So glad you did this video! I just "tree formed" my golden ligustrum yesterday, not knowing that it was really even a thing! I didn't even know what I had was a golden ligustrum, and I planted it years ago. I had to Google it. My family hated the outcome. 😂 So I researched everywhere for help. Your video was great! I'm excited to see what you plant underneath them. Please give some suggestions. I went too high. You're such a classy lady! You are the first I've ever subscribed to on UA-cam.
Hi Jill 👋 Reading your message made me smile 😊 I’m happy you started tree forming your Ligustrum. It took me a while to go for it but, I’m so glad I did. I’m not sure if I will underplant just yet since it’s so hot here. I envision something with bold dark color next to that chartreuse Ligustrum 🤔 I am thrilled to be your first subscription! You just motivated me to get to work! Thank you so much !! Many blessings to you!
🤣 your grand babies are beautiful, I work my little grandkids kids to. They love it though. Your sunshine lugustrims are absolutely beautiful! Your yards is perfect!
Hi Tammy. Thank you for your feedback and for watching. You can trim boxwoods at any time of year, but you should avoid heavy shearing or pruning during the late fall and winter months, even if you live in an area where snow isn't a factor. When the temperatures drop, it can make it more difficult for new plant growth to firm up before winter takes hold, so it’s best to do the heavier maintenance during the spring and mid-summer months. It’s all a labor of love for us gardeners 🥰🪴🌺
nice and tidy and proper-love it! bless you, you've got some tidying up to do! get those kiddos to help, it will take tiny fingers or a lot of leaf blowing!
This was my first ever video of yours that I've watched...well done, I must say. That was A LOT of work, especially in that Texas heat; my parents live in San Antonio, it was 103. Looking forward to seeing the final results. Cheers
Hello and Welcome! Thank you so much. Yes, it’s triple digits in Dallas too all week. I hope to have an update this coming weekend. I’m still working projects but much slower 🥵🔥 stay tuned 🌿
@@PlantingLifeMatters Awwwwe you remembered!!! How thoughtful of you thank you 😊🌼! They aren’t doing terrible but they aren’t doing fantastic either. Most of them are pretty much the same size as they were (a few a tad bit bigger) then when I bought them last November. They lost all of their leaves due to our winds here (I live on the Oregon coast) and all have some leaves back but some are still sparse in here in July. I thought maybe the branches had died off since they seem so brittle but it seems like that’s just how the branches are? Maybe on the young ones? I am hoping that they are just getting established and will maybe take off next summer? 🤞🏻. I see all of the large, abundant, lush Sunshine Ligustrums and that certainly is not the case with mine ☹️. I love your videos and your grandchildren are so gorgeous and precious!!! 💛💛
Hi hopepruitt! I sure will, feel free to message me again in a few weeks. I have a ton more to trim that I didn’t show. This was the beat price point for the 40voltage I found so I’m hopeful. Thanks for watching!
Hi 👋 Thank you for watching and reaching out. Sunshine Ligustrum does best in full sun The more sun, the brighter the chartreuse color will come thru. They also benefit from fertilizer which can help raise the acid level of the soil such as Holly-Tone by Espoma. You can fertilize in the spring and in early fall. Good luck! 🌺

How old are your lugustrims?
Hi Sheila 👋. The ligustrums were planted in the spring of 2019. Still growing strong 💪
Battery really only last a few years. ☹️
