"What do you do if you get a spill like this (dumps shit on the floor) on your floor" That's easy, you reach for the over priced "mop" that doesn't actually work....oh no you grab a roll of paper towels and use a bunch of them to soak up the mess then get a clean rag fill you sink with some hot water and white vinegar and spot clean the area, this whole process shouldn't take more than ten minutes.
They have had ones out like this since the 90's the one I found that worked the best wasn't a traditional mop with cords but with a sponge that actually wrings it self out and do what's it's advertised.
You did the "mop over head" bit wrong. You're supposed to retract it first so the shammy straps aren't bending or folded. Having finally used a shamwow recently (an extra I had stored around for years from buying a shamwow as a gag gift that came in a 2-for-1 deal), I found that the shamwow actually works remarkably and is incredibly absorbent, unlike the conclusion from your own video. I also found that a fully saturated shamwow can hold its liquid well without dripping while it is carried to the sink as long as it is held flat.

To be honest, the purpose of a mop is to clean a floor. Yknow once it's been stepped on for a few weeks and is dirty? Its main purpose is not to clean spills. Not that you can't use it for that purpose.
So it seems to me that the point of these infomercial items is to take an issue that's fairly simple to remedy (spill something on the floor? Grab a paper towel or two) and make it excessively complex instead. I wonder what the people that invented these things did after these things failed...?
