Surprisingly few videos on how to take care of your whetstones. Thanks.

Great information, especially bevelling the edges, which isn't something I've heard often.
    Thank you for the upload.

Naniwa stones feel great to use. You'd be hard pressed to do any sort of serious damage to your stones.

@SharpeningSupplies Thank you! I was up late last night watching sharpening videos and practicing and I got a couple knives pretty sharp! 🎉

I read an article from Chef Sac that said to wash the stone with a firm bristled brush to remove any metal shavings after use. Is that really necessary?

Not if you're flattening regularly. Water stones shed their top layers through use, so metal shavings don't tend to build up if you're using them with water. Diamond stones can benefit from a gentle scrub every now and then.

Very good video. The naniwa professional/choosera 5k is known for Micro cracking and getting lines in it no matter how babied and looked after it is though. Ive been very very kind to mine even flattend/lapped every time before rinsing and patted dry then air dried and still got the known problem.

It sounds like you're doing everything right and taking great care of your stones. Have you noticed any difference in how your stone performs after the lines appeared?

So which stones do you sibmerge in water for 15 min and which do you just spray water on top ive seen whetstones do both

We include that information in the product descriptions, whether its a soaking stone or splash-and-go. If you've already got some stones you can spray the surface with water. If the stone absorbs the water, it will benefit from being submerged. If the water stays on the surface, it's likely to be a splash-and-go stone.
