SAAB is a very under appreciated brand. I actually learned how to drive in a 900 Classic manual in the snow on the back roads. The day after a major blizzard. Yes the hoods/bonnets are like that. Why? Because SAAB was an aircraft manufacturer and they would always put in the engines backwards.
this is my favourite gta mod car ever. especially with the camper. love the old gen saab 900 so fucking much. my favourite part of it is the engine/trans layout - a longitudinal fwd triumph derived i4 mounted at a 45 degree slant, facing backwards (front towards the firewall) with a chain coming from the back of the engine down into the trans below. how stupid. i love it
It must've been that particular car Lex! I've always liked Saab and their overengineering, and the older cars' funky shapes. My dad had a 9-5 convertible (sadly it was a diesel for some strange reason) Nice to see one in GTA!
2:01 yess the Saab windshield was like this, but if you have the cabrio version they are well know to be cracking due to tensions on the front windshield support… I like old cars they are so much fun to work on🥲
I feel like Vulcar has more non-Volvo cars than they do Volvo’s, the Ingot is a Stagea, the Warrener is a Skyline, the Fagaloa has Volvo influence up front and that’s basically it, the Nebula might be the only full Volvo.
The taillights look more Trabant or Nomad like, as is the fact it’s a 3 door and not a 5 door. Hell if you take the hood and front bumper off you’d think it actually was a Nomad, a really tiny one, but still a Nomad.
the "Chepalle" GTA Lore-friendly Brand it is pronounced "Kap-palle" because it is an italian reference and it means literally "what-a balls" ahaha, i hate when everyone pronounce it "shepalle", its Kap-Palle (the letter "e" in italian is pronunced like the "a" in english language, it is because i wrote kap and not kep)
This is great! Would love to see a version that adds bumpers to make it look like an early 9-3 (Lore friendly cars that cover multiple generation are great IMO) and maybe a convertible version too. I'd love to see someone build a lore friendly VW Golf that begins as a mk3 European "highline" AWD model that can be turned into a mk4 R32... Maybe base the appearance off of the Midnight Club 2 Golf.
VACANCY. Oddly enough I like the final build. Maybe it’s a little more realistic of the 3? The second stance one is nice as well. Not a fan of the color blocked tho.
Is it me or did some of the grills look like it's a different car like the chrome stock one gives me ae86 Levin vibes along with the black version of it n the classic looks like a old Subaru Forester n the light weight is really giving me s13 Silvia vibes because it almost looks like the R32 GT-R grills people put on em but it's a very nice car

I kinda like SAABs. Mostly because of Seinfeld, but the SAAB-arus are really cool. Certainly more exciting to see one of those than a WRX hatchback.

No your dad did not have a 9-5 Convertible, he had a 9-3 Convertible because the 9-3 never came as convertible.

Ever seen a Amazon Wagon? In my opinion the front and rear are both equally lore-friendly.
