- Broadway Double Roundabout Tutorial
When taking your manual or automatic driving test at the Norris Green driving test centre in Liverpool, you may come across the broadway double roundabout on your test route.
In this tutorial we cover the following aspects of the double roundabout.
Section One: Leaving the driving test centre and at the end of falklands approach turning right onto Parthenon Drive and then at the traffic lights turning right onto Utting Avenue East.
Section Two: Leaving the driving test centre and at end of Falklands Approach turning left onto Parthenon Drive and then at the end of the road turning left on to Townsend Avenue.
Section Three: heading back to the driving test centre along Utting Avenue and just gone past Asda.
Section Four: heading back to the driving test centre along Townsend avenue with Queens Drive and St. Matthews church behind you.
Section Five: leaving the driving test centre and having an "OH NO" moment, where you may find yourself in the wrong lane and how to fix this situation the safe way.
Section Six: heading back to the driving test centre and having an "OH NO" situation, where for whatever reason you realise you are in the wrong lane and how to fix it to save your driving test.
We hope you find this Broadway Double Roundabout Tutorial very useful, we would be greatful if you would leave a comment to let us know how you found the tutorial and if it benefitted you to prepare for this roundabout on your driving test.

This video was great thank you! Really helped with the Oh no section at the end of the video as that’s what I found myself in during my lesson and wasn’t sure how to sort it.
Happy that you found this video useful. We tried to approach it differently from all the other videos about this roundabout on youtube.
WARNING!!!!I had a collision on this roundabout. I was going Utting Ave to Utting Ave east and stayed in the left lane .exactly as is shown in this video. The other van was going Townsend from queens drive to Townsend towards Walton hall Ave. he collided into me as I was coming round island 2 on the left. He was in the right lane but taking the first exit. When I spoke to him he was convinced he was going straight and therefore entitled to turn off in that lane. (Treating both roundabouts as one) at court it was decided that he was in the wrong lane but so was I as my exit was a fraction after 12 o’clock. I had to settle for a 50/50 fault claim. I have since noticed that loads of people do exactly as he did when travelling along Townsend Ave.and seen loads of near misses. I now only use the right lane when going Utting Ave to Utting Ave east.
Unfortunately all roundabout accidents are deemed 50/50 pretty much, ive never heard of anyone getting a full win with them. If on a driving test though, doing what the van driver did would result in a fail, but what you were doing would be a pass as the examiners give the instruction as ahead at both roundabouts.
The problem with the court system is especially for RTA is its just solicitors and judges that arent professionals in the road industry such as instructors or examiners, Road traffic police etc and they simply do not have a clue how roads are meant to be used in a safe manner.
If I don't understand the exit my examiner asked me to take and I choose the wrong one but signal correctly, will the test be terminated?
