An Edwards Gen II Bb trumpet and Yamaha Xeno 8335 are compared here; both are excellent trumpets. The Xeno has surprised me with its quality; I don't often have standard Yamaha's around. It is a very good middle of the road horn; it would play well in a symphony, could easily be used for a solist, and it could also be used as a lead horn (for a time :)). I think it leans slightly dark, but it is a shocking good player. The Edwards has a large bell, large bell flare and the bell uses an extra heavy brass. Still, it is so well balanced it can play in any venue. It, like the Yamaha, leans slightly dark but would also function well as a do-it-all horn. Played with the following mouthpieces...

Hello! I'm from PH. I played trumpet before but my mother sold it because of pandemic. I got inspired with your videos. Hoping that I can play trumpet again in the future. Maybe if I got a work I can buy again a trumpet. Just continue making video about trumpets!
Juju, I'll be hoping you get great work and a nice horn too! :) Trumpets don't have to cost a lot to be good players. Do keep in touch - we love the Phillipines!

Btw. Can you also create a video about best yamaha trumpet to buy based on price? Planning to save for intermediate trumpet since professional is cost to much. But xeno trumpet is my dream hahaha.
Xeno is a rich sounding horn not sure what it sounds from your end …
I was VERY impressed with this Xeno. I had an 8310 Gen 1 a few years back - I've always liked them. Then I had an 8335LA Gen 2 recently - great horn but way too open a blow for me. This Xeno is an ideal 'fit' between the 2 previously mentioned trumpets and I really enjoyed it. I've got almost 20 aftermarket tuning slides for Bach's, and they do make a difference for me, so I'll stick with my Bach horns. But in a straight up comparison, it would be hard to go against this Xeno.
