So In Vengeance, instead of Lucifer triggering Dazai's Ascending state, here Mastema is the one manipulating Dazai to accept his blessing to reach his ascending state. Damn it, Dazai is remind me so much of Walter, A funny guy and cheerful party friend who cares about his teammates but is blinded by his personal ambitions and is willing to sacrifice his friends in the end
Ironically, Dazai, being law route, has the most chaotic mind. While Yuzuru, being chaos route, is the most level-headed.
How is your description anything like Walter? Walter is not a funny silly goofy guy blinded by personal ambitions. That's totally Navarre.
@@NoobsUnited9000 Yes Walter is goofy, but he also funniest guy in the party, and for personal ambitions, if you read SMT IV story with details and also the SMT IV Demonic Gene comic, you can find that the main reason Walter joined the Chaos side was because he wanted to change Mikado, besides he is also possibly reincarnation of Kenji. as a casualry from birth he saw the Mikado moving in Stagnation, the Luxors lived in luxury and comfort while the casualry had to work hard while being looked down upon by the luxors,he was disappointed in reality, so he formed his own stance, where his idealism was Darwinist, the strong had the right to decide, because he thought that would be fairer, that was the reason he joined Chaos and Lucifer, because by joining them he could reach that goal, even though that means he has to be prepared to be confronted by his teammates , same with Dazai, Dazai is obsessed with becoming strong and reliable to helping the law/order in eradicating evil,that's because if we read the interactions at school, Dazai is student who is not liked by his classmate and schoolfreinds because many think he is silly and useless

Walter is never goofy, his whole character is the embodiment of lacking the sophistication a luxorer is supposed to have. His callousness, rudeness, abrasiveness, is all a foil to Johnathon. His ambition? Is saving the common man. It's not self motivation. You totally misunderstood his character.

how do i start the shin megami series do i need to play the others first or are they like persona with a new set of charchters and story each game?
They are like Persona, start with whatever you want except for SMT2 needs to be played after SMT1 and SMT4A after SMT4
The guy above me is right. You should have in count that the SMT series is ACTUALLY dificult, they're not related with Persona in story as they're their own separated universes. But both Persona and SMT are spectacular games, you should play every game!!

Why do SMT devs and Japanese people hate Abrahamic mythology and Law so much?
They gave a more balanced/nuanced view of the Law alignment in Devil Survivor: Overclocked. It might arguably be the best outcome for a Law ending in the entirety of SMT.
There’s a LOT of baggage regarding Abrahamic religion, namely Christianity, and their religious persecution. Easy to blame the _outsiders_ for undermining authority. It’s also easy to spin the idea of religion being a vehicle for blind subservience and worship to the point of relinquishing free will with a monotheistic religion. That’s not the only form of tough topics, as seen in SMT 1 with the fear of continued nuclear tensions and occupation by America.
Japan sees Christianity the same way Americans view greek mythology just some cool stuff to make an interesting anime or game out of and that’s it
The abrahamic mythology is mostly an exotic salad dressing theme for the Law faction, which moreso represents Japanese ideals of social cohesion and conformity; not that I want to bring up the other series in context of SMT but this association was very blatant in Persona 5 lol
It should be noted that SMT draws a lot more from Gnostic perspectives on God than traditional Abrahamic (Jew, Christian, Muslim) ones, in which God is seen as an evil subordinate figure (the Demiurge) to a more pure divinity (in SMT, the Great Will). As such any Law alignment (with few exceptions, including SMT I) is going to code God in a bad light as part of their borrowing from a more Gnostic narrative than a traditional Abrahamic one.

Honestly just getting to kill this guy alone makes the new Chaos Route worthwhile
