@@haytamhaytam7227 Im a software engineer myself, and while sure bugs could exist, but having code written in a way where you select the N'th option in a right click menu, for especially a step as important as trading the items over, this was written by a 13 year old's first IT project in school, that has no coding talent.
Now if it was an actual bug in the bots API thats a different story, but even then the bot makers obviously didnt test this at all, I understand time based you would not extensively test it, but I would atleast have it run and then test it.
Them not being able to find such a simple bug just means to me they have no real world coding knowledge

@@ianbroski2521 Jagex deserves a lot of flak, but in this specific situation... their hands are kinda tied. The nature of OSRS prevents them from using more advanced techniques (e.g. machine learning to a degree) for bot detection that is used in RS3.
RS3's bot detection isn't perfect, but its miles ahead of OSRS and that's mostly because of the engine differences.
Typical useless retard J mods though, HURR DURR MUH RESTRICTIONS. That only ruin the game for real players and are easy to work around by bots. Useless PR stunts to pretend like they aren't being useless lazy fats.

They only care if there's an outrage about it, I found a barrows bot with 5k killcount sent them video evidence of me making the bot glitch and reported it, yet it's still up after weeks.
Jagex absolutely care, but it is much more complicated to deal with than people think. Dont be so quick to jump horses just because the route is easy.
The gambling bots don't affect the economy unlike nearly every other bot.

@@icelord447 I've been camping zammy wine bots for about 4 weeks now and reporting each and every one of them after I've killed them and only ONE of them has been banned so far. Fucking ONE.
They are running 24/7 in e v e r y single f2p world and it's the same accounts. Haven't noticed a single name changing during 4 weeks. I've sent multiple video recordings and pics over to jagex but they have done absolutely fuck all to this situation. It is very frustrating to see these obvious botfarms up and running for weeks straight and having this huge affect on the economy, even though I have made millions from them.
Mod Weath is not up to scratch. I send him bots on twitter and he never checks them out. Too busy eating Big Mac's and probably selling gold.

love how jagex says they ban botters, but there is so many bots its not even funny, and ones that have been around for years and years not getting banned, while honest players get banned all the time (as shown when streamers get banned)
They cant ban them. One, theyd lose so much money off member subscriptions. Two, theres no real way to do it. Three, jagex employees are prolly creating some of the bot farms, working with the bot creators. Or something to that effect.
I can tell you that thanks to bots runes are easy to buy. Without bots the economy of lot of shit would be aids
Pugger please read- Can you explain why in f2p world's in the GE there are bots saying numbers? I dont see why or what they are they are doing but they are in every world.
Usually a script gets messed up on em by accident or players messing with them while they are training an artisan skill, like the bot clicks bowstring use on unstrung bow, then whatever number the hotkey would be for all or however many they do per inventory but instead the numbers end up typed out in chat
I've seen them too. They started this month. They are in every single world saying "660" "1820" "550" ect. If you go to GE you can't miss them. I report them every time I have an extra minute to do so

SirPugger should make FCs in both RS versions , and LETS GOOO LADS ! :D ( even tho reports would not help much , i had group of friends and we were running around reporting bots , but they mostly stayed up , yes they get banned in a day or two , but honestly damage is already done ) so basicly to be effective , we would need active Jmods in those FCs to follow up on info :) ... Honestly , with alot of good vibes from both sides , community would forge, and we could clean runescape up once and for all ... Question is , would jagex be up for it , is paying jmods in 3 shifts worth for them , or bots are not that big of a problem for them after all ?
There are cc's out there who already do this. Like they don't do anything else in the game than chat with each other and report bots.

Players shouldnt waste their time doing what jagex is supposed to do. Greedy jagex can hire the best people to improve their bot detection system with the huge amounts of membership money we pay for an old game.

Bringing attention to less than 1% of the overall botters. It's like killing a single bot once and saying you've dealt with the OSRS botting problem. This is insignificantly small. Millions of gp? When he starts busting bots with trillions of gold worth (That's 1,000,000,000,000 gold - And botters make that every few hours) - Then he'll have started making a dent.
My plan is to stock up on worth less items like feathers and shit and wait for jagex to finally do something about the bots. Then watch as feathers, eyes of newt, logs and shit like that suddenly skyrocket and make bank. That's if jagex ever does anything about the bots though.
Honestly botting doesn't negatively impact the game much at all. In fact it's nicer because most of the game that people do bot is unenjoyable content

@@hippegast12 the story is, back in 2002 when runescape was 2d party hats were millions and they converted that runescape into now adays OSRS then runescape 2 then runescape 3 so thats why everytime they turned runescape into a newer game the GE was still the same data was people just had the newest version if that makes sense to you OSRS is not the same runescape converted into osrs they opened a whole diffrent game just like WOW classic is a diffrent game then what it was cause they also converted and then made classic which is 2 seperate games IF that makes sense to you which it should.

they're fresh accounts, the reason they're wearing the tree outfit is because with all the tutorial island items in the inventory you get the rares and then the tree outfit, with the rest of christmas cosmetics stored at diango.
the account doesn't have to be that old, all it has to do is be created before midnight in game time and then the account can claim the reward after midnight has passed.
source: did this on 5 fresh accounts manually to see the gp/hr and was disappointed when i couldn't claim the reward immediately.
i wouldnt potentially risk my account trading a known bot lol.

@@xpelta6478 rs3 has almost no bots because of bot watch, osrs client is just too old for that so the mods have to manually wipe the bots.
Hopefully jagex will log in sometime in that world and ask people to leave. I agree that the bots should be stopped. But since this video was put up. People are just going to basically collect off the bots and make profit off selling stuff that isn’t even their stuff either. That stuff shouldn’t go to anyone. They should shut down that world and ban all the bots.
Usually they're programmed to Log Out when they see a J Mod or a P Mod. That's what makes it sort of tricky for Jagex. Obviously, they could easily circumvent that somehow I'm sure.

@@TheJamesRG No shit, but they still have the script. Usually when they detect any funny-business they log out. These modern bot scripts are way more advanced. Some bots log out when they see any player whose not on their whitelist of names. I'm not sure if they can detect an entity that is for in all intents and purposes "invisible" but it wouldn't surprise me honestly.

Interesting video. Its not easy to patch, we already know this from the removal of wilderness and free trade back in rs2. Jagex do care but it is much more complicated to deal with than people think.

I saw a botfarm exactly like this in like 6 different f2p worlds before the xmas event. They were all standing in GE and once I figured out the mule they were trading, I started typing out random numbers and trading it constantly. At some point I typed out the number 5499 and the mule instantly traded me 39m and I'm still not sure why.
A couple days later I managed to repeat this trick 2 more times, getting a 20m and a 17m trade. I have no idea what these lvl 3 bots are doing to get this money though because they seem to be at GE all the time, but never in p2p worlds.

@@Zer0NoiZe It really isn't. This works to this very day, go through a couple of f2p worlds and try it out man. I did it earlier today, it was a little harder to find these guys this time so I had to scroll through a few worlds but it definitely still works.
Also, dropping 25-27 essence under the mule they are trading and then spam trading is much more effective. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but when I dropped more than 27 essence under the mule, I couldn't get any more trades.

Quick note, you get items from past events for completing the current one.
I'm super curious as to how Jagex is dealing with the muling then trade to main issue. I would be certain that there is a trade log that Jagex can pull up and be able to trace down the main account. My assumption is that Jagex doesn't have enough proof in something that holds them back from banning the main account (e.g. the main account was actually a hacked account that will be thrown away by the botter soon after). Or they are doing this and we just aren't aware as Jagex wants us not to know so that botters could bypass their system.
Muling is super easy, using high level accounts makes it practically undetectable. If you’re dedicated enough you can “launder it” making it even more difficult.
It's really hard to get rid of unless you were constantly spying on one particular guy 24/7.
They can tell if you move from one mule to main, it makes it harder when you do several swaps. Especially if you trade to alts with real skills and game time. The other problem is people try to make all the ip different or when they log into their main they will use a VPN to make it look like it’s being logged into in a different country so they can claimed it was hacked.
You all have fair points, I think that it'll be hard for Jagex to detect the main as of right now. Though to the point of saying they are doing nothing and won't do anything moving forward would be farfetched... a gaming company can't survive if the integrity of the game is completely gone and no one plays it.
There is away to avoid thr trade logs. They can detect it and track it but its relly hard.

That mod comment on account restrictions is actually not true. I made a brand new account yesterday, did the event, gave 140k to my main account no problems.
The time restriction is definitely in place. Did a few new accounts and every one of them had to wait until the next day before I could claim the rewards.

@@iownornot1 Which he literally just said? He's saying that the assumption that the accounts were made in 2018 DUE to their outfits is incorrect, as you can get those at any time. It's more likely to be a different cause, like people setting up bots early to evade restrictions or buying certain account types.

You profited from a bot, therefore botting. Stop teaching this to people, they will get banned. When you kill a bot and take their items you look like you are the botter trying to avoid a ban. ESPECIALLY IN THIS CASE. It's even MORE "obvious" that you're the botter when it's a single trade away from the TOS violation. I wouldn't be surprised if half your alts ended up banned for this. Dropping the items is very responsible though.

I've been camping skeletal wyverns and and seen these 2 people camping these all day with me. They do not talk and try to attack my wyvern. They both have almost the same stats as each other so I believe this could be a bot farm.
They are so dumb for giving that as a Christmas reward. They could've literally coded a non tradable set of hats etc.

Your videos made me play Runescape again after 10 years of not touching the game. Anyway, some random intel you might already know but there's a bunch of bots in Lumbridge on PvP worlds running from the Bank Chest to the Water Fountain and back. I was turning clay into soft clay using that spot to double my first money pile (100k -> 200k. Also, never doing that again.) and I noticed the bots were doing the same thing. If the GE offered short positions, I'd be shorting soft clay because if the bots aren't banned, princes will plummet, same for jugs of water and any other thing requiring a container of water. Prices of raw clay may also rise a little. I predict Jagex might remove those fountains from PvP worlds or something. These are most likely F2P bots so your tele-other strategy probably won't work, but you might come up with something crazy that works on them. Just wanted to let you know.

Hey @SirPugger so while on in the monestery just west of Edgeville I've noticed a few accounts that are attacking monks with 1 atk, 1 str and then in rune trimmed gear training defense with virtually all skills lvl 1. Maybe it's some bot farm. This is a name of one of the accounts I noticed, "SitNPrey". As soon as the accounts see me sit by them for more than 15 seconds they log.
Every single F2P world there are a group of bots on the north side of the GE. They all run from the GE traders to the banker and back to the GE traders. They randomly type 550 into game chat, every single world. Same spot every world, same random message of 550 every world, same pattern and movement every world. What is going on?
Maybe the bot farmers will consider subscribing now that they know you won’t take their dirty money. x D

I mean I understand these videos but.. just write to jagex on Twitter about it in a private message.. you prob got so many people to do this which is really unfair esp because the amount of gp that was made by certain players which entered the game (from the bot farm) is not really legit. Even if no bots are doing this anymore, people still profited millions of gp because you exploited this. I enjoy all of your vids about these bot farms but it does us no good in OSRS. I've seen a lot of bots by the bank in Lumbridge in PVP worlds. It seems like they're teleporting to lumbridge, goes to the bank right next to the tele point and then teles somewhere. I have screenshots if your interested. Comment on this and I'll send them somehow. Seems like their magic lvl and construction is the same lvl.62 magic and 50 construction as of the time of the screenshots. Multiple accounts with the same stats and lvl. Everything else is lvl 1.

You can still get trades, but they all have 20 spaces, and once you start getting the trades now they immediately decline. 2 different people,allegedly, came forward and stated to stop fucking with the bots. Then after a bit of being there last night on the 23rd around 12-1 or so oklahoma ( I think central standard time? ) the bots would also follow you for a but then continue doing what they were doing.

I tried to login on the jagex site (wich apperently was a fake) and when i did my osrs stopped working. About an hour later i got back on the game and al my things were gone. I lost my 100M bank. Please could u find out who these people are that are stealing accounts, or etleast warn people of the fake jagex site that is our there. The funny thing is that by dropping those p hats, their price will only go up in time. Eventually, they will likely be worth 100s of thousands each. It'll be similar to RS3 but on a much smaller scale.

I think SirPugger is the guy behind all these bots. He creates these elaborate stories just throw us off his scent. He's behind all these bots guys, think about it! He "finds" these bots. Then records them, and writes a story of a new bot problem? A unique creation of his own to again, to deceive us.

they got 140k each account because of the xmas thing. I did it one time on my own account. I thought this was a huge exploit so I didn't repeat it after one time. Even manually it takes 10 minutes tops to make an account, finish tutorial island, do xmas event, trade the GP.

I don't mean to be 'that guy' but this only benefited the bot maker (updated his script in less than a day and got real player accounts mixed in the situation to confuse Jagex) and yourself for the publicity/views. Strange.
Ofc they fixed it. As a programmer just seeing The video right now i already know what was The bug in The code and how to fix it. So you could say releasing this video actually helped The bots.

I dont know if youve seen this, but almost every world I log into has 5-10 bots collecting cursed energy. Ive been training on them for the past few weeks. Is cursed energy even worth anything?
Ive found a possible new bot farm, i was mining in world 436 varrock west mine on my new account and dropped a saphire, and about a dozen accounts logged in underneath me competing for that sapphire, they also took the clay i dropped but not right away
South American farm at west green drags, you kill them once or twice and a main will log in and try to kill you, the funny part, you go to the bandit camp tele spot and the farmer will come back all geared up with 100-1000 cannon balls
F2P is lost. Greedy Jagex makes so much money from osrs but probably spend less than 1% of our membership money in bot detection. They could just hire any bot developer for a good amount of money to create a better bot detection system together.

Something weird going on in the same place world 458. got random people logging and trading running off for a few minutes and coming back and trading 2 acc with the similar names wearing a wood shield and bronze sword.. The one trading are all sorts of levels some with high level gear. I tried trading one and it put two body runes up and then the other one traded me and put two noted lobbys.
Should ask Australian gouvernment for some $$ here it cost $1,50 😂 they dip in every pocket
And this is why Ironman is the only way to go. Economy is fucked. And rapidly getting worse, because of shit like this.
