    Excellent tutorial, I was even able to implement the Drupal 7 instructions to Drupal 8
    Big Compliment,

      Thanks for the update and glad to hear that it works in Drupal 8 ! The module also ported to Backdrop CMS. You can install and use the module in Backdrop CMS too. The configuration should be similar since it is ported from Durpal 7. Enjoy Drupaling !

    Wow, thanks! This was very clear and informative. Drupal seems to make this super complicated when it doesn't need to be, so thanks for weaving through all the complex subtleties!

      You are welcome! Yep, some modules need more time to test out and play around before knowing how to configure it properly. But it also provides more functionalities and flexibility to do what you want. Hope you enjoy it and keep it up !

    Thank you. Once again crystal clear and efficient tuto ! By the way, why don't you use drush to install+enable in one command line, drush en -y ? Do you think it would be confusing in a tuto ?

      +Stéphane Gillot. Thanks for your feedback. Yes, I'm trying to make things simpler for the beginners as not all are comfortable with the command line and Drush setup. Since I'm not covering the initial part of Drupal installation with a particular AMP stack like acquia, I decided to use the "primitive" way of installing the module to ensure all can follow along smoothly to avoid unnecessary distractions from Drush if ever they encounter the problem. Drush is a great tool indeed, do continue using it if you are already familiar with it. As for others, they will find out soon and by then, more ready to develop Drupal like Pro ! Keep it up !

      drush adds another level of complexity. I used drush to install, but getting this to work properly has still taken hours.

    Not able to make it work on Drupal 9.3. The slider frame and structure seems to be there but suspecting the plugin code needs to be updated. Couldn't find any support options on the author's site or any responses from Drupal. Works ok on 9.2.9 but dies on next version update. Can't tell if it might be related to my multi-site structure bur the lack of support for Flexslider is sad.

    Great tutorial. Was wondering if you can help with two issues I am facing. I dont see the circular pager ( I get numbers in boxes instead). Also the images are very very pixellated and blurred. I am displaying flexslider-full

    That's fantastic! Thank you for sharing. I have two doubts.... First, when you are showing the slideshow inside views, there are some square bullets below the images. So, when I put the block in the front page, this square bullets are appearing. How did you manage to hide them? With CSS or another setting? Second, the left and right navigation arrows are not showing completely above slideshow images. They seem to be cut at the top. Thanks in advance.

    Nice tutorial. But I have one problem like this.
    After I followed everything, but in the final display it displays photos but there is a message like this "This display has no path".
    How can to fix it please?

    I would like to have both portrait and landscape (vertical and horizontal) pictures in my slideshow without the height jumping up and down and still remaining responsive. What specific code do I need? Thanks!

    • @drupallegoland5478

      To be honest I haven't found the best way of putting these two very different dimensions of pictures together in a slideshow. There's always a drawback in one or another. Perhaps a better way, is to fix the dimension with the "image style". You can apply canvas and cropping to make it looks best for your slideshow. Here some modules you may be interested.
      1) www.drupal.org/project/imagecache_actions
      - Add a "canvas" to your image style and give them a background color which the image is positioned right in the center especially for the portrait pictures.
      2) To crop the portrait pictures manually to the best, you can use the following modules:
      Manual Cropping
      www.drupal.org/project/manualcrop
      Tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/RmN83b9_yvg/v-deo.html
      Smart Crop module:
      drupal.org/project/smartcrop
      Tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/A7Ye52wJa28/v-deo.html
      If you know any better way of doing it, do share with us ! Keep it up !

      Thanks. There's a comment from "Ghost" who provides some code, but I don't know where it goes. github.com/woocommerce/FlexSlider/issues/174#issuecomment-6188108

      I have installed the Flex Slider 7.x-2.0-rc1, added some vertical and portrait pictures to the slideshow and taking a look at the issue you encountered. But I noticed the vertical and portrait pictures are not really jumping up and down as you described. Did you install the 7.x-2.0-rc1 version ? In this case, you don't actually need the code. Do double check. Keep it up !

    Great tutorial, thank you very much. I was wondering, if there is any possibility to add some kind of “preview” for next articles in this module. To be clear, instead of those circles under the slider showing how many articles are included in the slider, I need to put some short text and if possible also some small picture to show what article is coming next, so the reader would know, what to expect. Is something like this possible? Thanks!

    • @drupallegoland5478
      @drupallegoland5478  7 років тому

      Yep ! Just move on to the next tutorial and you can add a slider as navigation. You can then add a text field, e.g. title field to each image. Do give it a try ! Keep it up !

      Drupal Legoland thank you very much. is there also a stable version for Drupal 8?

    • @drupallegoland5478
      @drupallegoland5478  7 років тому

      I'm afraid not at the moment. But you can always help to test it out and report if there's any critical issue so that they can resolve and stabilize the module. Keep it up and Merry Christmas!

    Thank you for your video! I also want to know where to put my css file for my website on local?

    • @drupallegoland5478
      @drupallegoland5478  7 років тому

      You can place it inside your sub theme folder. Example, let's create a mystyle.css and load this to all pages. Presume your sub theme is named "Bootstrap Subtheme" (bootstrap_subtheme)
      1) Add a css file inside sub theme.
      e.g. sites/all/themes/bootstrap_subtheme/css/mystyles.css
      2) Load the css file
      - Open your .info file. e.g bootstrap_subtheme.info
      - under Stylesheets, define your css file after "stylesheets[all][] = css/style.css". It should look like this:
      ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
      ;; Stylesheets
      ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
      stylesheets[all][] = css/style.css
      stylesheets[all][] = css/mystyle.css
      3) Flush all caches.
      Now, you can repeat these steps to add other custom css files as many as you like. Keep it up !

      You might have missed out some details. Perhaps try to build a new Views and go through the Video again. Be more careful with the image field setup. Keep it up !
