I had a tomato about to go bad so I chopped it up and put it into some spaghetti I made, and the other half of it my husband and I had a nice salad for lunch and used the rest of the tomato. And I got rid of my sam's club membership, if I need something I'll just have my daughter pick it up for me she still has her account

I stopped shopping with friends for fun. My husband and I do not need clothing. We need shoes. We don't go shopping , we go buying what we need. Use extra savings for fuel. Also, just organized our 4 small freezers and are eating the older things. God bless.

I cut top of like hand cream in a tube, or toothpaste, and cut it down the middle. Sometimes I cut top and bottom off like toothpaste, on each side, there is enough toothpaste, or like hand cream, too get a few more uses out of it.😊

I don’t save random plastic containers. They tend to get lost in my frig. I did invest ($39 on Amazon) a bunch of glass storage containers for leftovers because then it can also go straight into the microwave or toaster oven. Easy peasy. And I don’t heat up things in plastic. 😬

    • @3TXSisters

That I do too. I have those clear plastic Rubbermaid little containers with red tops. Those I use to send leftovers home with folks. Because I don’t care if I don’t get them back. My mom gave me homemade chili and put it in a country crock big margarine container and it ended up in the back of my frig for months ! Because we all thought it was margarine. I thought my husband bought it. Lol. When I dragged everything out it was green. My mom had put it in my frig when we weren’t home.

Also, I thought of you recently when I caught a YT video of an older Lucille Ball being interviewed and taking QA from the live audience. Several times she told the interviewer to take his hands off the female audience members, protecting their personal space from the handsy host. Lucille didn't take guff and was quite stern, and definitely ahead of her time. ❤

So nice to meet you from Ozark Family. I have a family of four, myself and 3 girls. My oldest hands her clothes down to her youngest sister and the youngest sister hands her clothes down to her older twin. When they are too small for the older twin (She's only 5'2 and the oldest and youngest are 5'6") we have a family or two who have children who are a size or two smaller than the smallest daughter. We have 2-3 places here where we live that will allow you to come and get clothes for free so I have not bought new clothes for years (shoes are another story!) as I tell all friends and family to just give them clothes for birthdays and holidays.

Dawn, I love all your money saving tips and positive philosophy on life. Listening to you has certainly made me more mindful of how I spend money and various ways to save. I've definitely had buyers remorse over many things and have been practicing your process of waiting days if I purchase at all, and find out, it's more satisfying to not buy on impulse so much. Also, like you said, I've found out I really didn't need many of those things. It really is empowering to know you have not wasted money and can put some money aside. For me, it has been saving for a new heating/air system. Those costly repairs have really added up and time for a new one. You are such a good speaker and I love how you present things in such an interesting way and in ways that I remember and can ask myself what would Dawn do or say!

I love how you check your budget to ensure it's working for your family. Having a designated day to declutter is so useful. Good way to keep the clutter under control and tohelp others by donating to charities. We are simply buying less. I'm eating less and cutting out snack foods that are more expensive. I'm shopping my closet even for special occasions. I have a bridal shower coming up for my granddaughter and found an outfit that my Texas family hasn't seen. I've worn it several times but it'll be new to them. Meal planning has eliminated most of our food waste. We've been able to keep our temperature higher on the new air conditioning unit and remain comfortable. As it's more energy efficient, we're saving on the electric bill. Remaining debt free helps to save. Great video, as always. Love to all, Linda 💕

These are great tips. Thank you for another video Dawn. I decided this month that I'm mostly paying for things with cash instead of cards. I've found so far that this is much better for me. Unfortunately, I did go clothing shopping at a thrift store, I noticed some prices are going down or are lower, and I purchased a few things. The good thing is I paid with cash and actually saved money. I gave myself a budget. I guess my weakness is that since I have a smaller closet and wardrobe, I think I need more even though I know I don't. Also, I'm an outfit repeater anyway. And I like shopping for clothes and really nothing else. But, I already used my budget and don't plan on going anymore for the month.

I save on my sewage by not flushing when I pee....It goes like this: When it is yellow let it mellow n when it is brown let it drown....
I also dont use the AC or Heat which saves on my bill for electricity n on my heating bill....
I save on my food bill by not letting it get freezer burned...How? By using my food saver.....which doesn't cost very much...where can u buy it from? From Costco or Amazon...it normally costs around $100.00 dollars....
And another way I save while shopping at the grocery store.....I use a grocery list....n it saves me around 25 to 35 percent.....😊
